According to the Epilepsy Foundation of America, there are 65 million people who have epilepsy worldwide. In the United States alone, there are 150,000 new cases of epilepsy every year.

What are the symptoms of Epilepsy?
The symptoms of epilepsy will vary depending on the type of seizure you experience. Symptoms can include temporary confusion, a staring spell, uncontrollable jerky movements, and loss of consciousness or awareness.

Psychic symptoms like fear, anxiety, or deja vu may also be present.

There are two classifications of focal or generalized seizures. When seizures are limited to one area of the brain, these are called focal seizures.

The treatment for epilepsy includes medications, dietary changes, and surgical procedures. Your doctor will recommend a specific plan based on your symptoms, your health, and your response to therapy.
