Statistics show that students who have a college degree have a lower unemployment percentage than the people with a high school diploma. In the article “Is A College Education Worth It?” produced by ProCon.Org. They recorded “In 2015, 6.2% of college graduates were underemployed (insufficient work), compared to 12.9% of high school-only graduates” (“Is A College Education Worth It?”). As one can see there is a drastic difference when comparing these facts. Lower unemployment is better because it is used to measure economic health within a community. On the contrary, many may argue Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, or Oprah were successful college dropouts. However, the chances of a person becoming successful college dropout is rare. In addition, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs only employed those with college degrees to work within their companies. Thus making college education superior. Equally important going to college widens your

College should be a requirement because many college graduates earn more than high school graduates. Bill Gates is the most successful man in the world and he went to college. Carlos Slim is the second richest man in the world and he too went to college. What I am trying to say is that the top two wealthiest and successful people in the world have gone to some degree of secondary education. This is not complicated math. If you go to college you will increase your probability of becoming successful or becoming even more
You don’t need a college degree to have a good paying job. Not attending college affects ones literacy of financial awareness, their ability to receive a job, and their ability to carry our responsibilities.

Not everyone has to have a diploma to prosper. And you would be right; Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, and Stacey Ferreira are just a few of the many successful people without a college degree. Consider this, the top 1 percent of wage earners in the U.S. earn almost $500,000 per year. The odds of anyone making it to the top are low, even with a college degree, but the odds are better than those with no college education. Of those with college degrees, roughly eight in 1,000 make it into the upper field of income earners. For those without a college degree, the odds drop as low as three out of 1,000. While that may seem unrealistic, on average people with a bachelor’s degree or higher earn about $20,000 more a year than those without a
For the past few months I have been attending college as a first year, but recently I have started to ask myself is college really worth it? Or is there a better alternative other than going on the traditional path to college? Furthermore if there are alternative path instead of attending college, why aren’t we taking them? In many situations we do have the option of acquiring special licenses and certifications that can get us the careers we desire, but without the need to attend college, but if we can do things like getting licenses and certificates then why do most of us choose to go to college knowing that there is a better option? Even more, a better option that will probably not cost you as much in the long run. Yet millions upon millions of students make the choice of going to college every year, for this I ask why?
People with a college degree tend to make more money than those who didn’t attend college. This is because most of the jobs that have a higher earning require a college degree. People that only get their school diploma don’t make as much money as someone with a college degree. A study done suggest that people who have a college degree are more likely to get hired because they have an education compared to those who don’t. According to the United States Bureau people who achieved the current degrees earned the following median salaries. People with a doctorate degree earn $100,000 or more. With a bachelor’s degree people earn $58,000 and people with an associates earn $42,000 or more(Lucier). A High School diploma is not worth as much as a college degree. A High school diploma means less today because of the shaping of the world. People who only have a high school diploma earn only about $33,000. These numbers also depend on the type of field that you are going into. For example, people that have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or management will earn a little bit more (Lynn). They will earn more because these fields are really important. In my opinion the United States has been transformed
College education goes about the way to an effective future for people who are not kidding with it. Currently, a college education has turned in the base necessity in securing a job in different companies and although some people might think college is not worth the debt, in a long run it actually is.
It is easy to think college is not worth the cost to become better, but getting educated molds a better person, and creates happier people in the future and occasionally they become better in health (Leonhardt 25 ). Becoming a better and happier person is pleasing for everyone. Even former President Obama says “‘Education helps us be better people. It helps us be better citizens. You came to college to learn about the world and to engage with new ideas and to discover the things you're passionate about -- and maybe have a little fun’” (Procon.org). Learning and engaging in everything is a skill everyone should have, so like he said we should go to college to be able to do that. Additionally, education shows people to develop more intellectual skill and become more responsible (Pew Social and Demographic Trends). Thus said, being educated and smart is something everyone can do and college helps with that. Likewise, college can encourage someone to be more educated and happier. Reaching the point of happier and more educated is worth the cost.
An education is something that one can keep for a lifetime. Acquiring a good education can affect one’s personal life, one’s community, and one’s entire generation.
A college education is necessary today in society. Students can focus on their academics and try to get a high score. The cost of education for each student has become more difficult to afford. Thus, many students and teachers wonder if free college tuition must be granted. Free education must be responsible and funded by the U.S. government because it will help students focus on their studies, and encourage them to work harder in school. Even thought many people think that education must be free, it is very important for many reasons such as the economy, quality of education, and value of a college degree.
College education essentially is the key to success in the future. It opens many doors of opportunity and allows us to explore every option available. College education can provide a student with new exciting opportunities that they would never had if they drop out of at high school. I would like to share some of the benefits that furthering your education can provide, and as well as the joy it can bring to each and every one of us.
Education is a form of personal freedom. By pursuing a college education, you are setting yourself up to be a successful and independent individual who not only has a degree, but is knowledgeable of the things in this world that matter. Many may argue that you can be more successful and earn a higher salary than an individual with a degree. This statement is very true, however, those individuals who become rich overnight and have these “special gifts” are very far and in between. This is due to the fact that it is very rare to become an overnight success story and although these people may not have went through college, they still worked extremely hard to be where they are today. This goes to show that one of the best things about earning a degree is the fact that it is one of the only things in this world that no one can take from you because you “earned” it. For example: as a recording artist,
Education plays a vital role in shaping tomorrows’ leaders. Not only can we become a better nation by acquiring the skills necessary to be productive members of a civilized society. Increase knowledge to actively achieve and meet challenges that can produce changes in which are productive for attaining business innovations, political and economic objectives.
After twelve years of school, it took me until now to figure out exactly why I had been there all those years. It was not to torture me by making me learn how to spell but to make sure that my classmates and I got the opportunity to make the most of ourselves. Opportunity that would come from learning as much as possible from books and beginning to see that the world focuses on more than just history and English . I owe my success in life and school to teachers who taught me to spell and to be respectful and responsible. Those quick to argue with me say that school's usefulness is shallow: deeper-real-life experiences truly educate a person. School should be seen not only as a place to study, but also as a place to learn about real life. People cannot depend on experience alone for education just as they cannot solely rely on information from school books to prepare them for life. The lessons, whether from a book or not, learned in school transcend the classroom to real life situations.
In our culture today, there is a huge emphasis on education, especially higher education. Society basically says the more educated you are, the better off you are. That is pretty much true if you live by the means of society. The basic idea that education, especially a college education, is something that people should pursue even into their adult years is not by any means a new idea.
