I won't go into what made the era special, because that would be insulting to your intelligence, everyone knows what made the era successful, and why some fans still pine for it. ...lives. Without wrestling, there would be no fighting, no self-defense options or maneuvers, or any way for someone to be in the best shape of their life, without being in the military or special workout programs. Involved and used in everyday life, wrestling is not given the credit or respect that it deserves, for the sole fact that it is no football or basketball, and people don’t usually grow up doing it everyday in the local neighborhoods. During a wrestling match, you are using all of your previous knowledge of the moves you have been practicing over and over. On top of that you need to have the mental mind set that you are gonna win. You may think it is easy because it's only a six minute match, but all the blood, sweat and tears that us wrestlers put in for those six minutes, may be the happiest or saddest experience of our life. We spend hours a day working with our coaches to make sure our technique is close to perfection as it can get. Most likely, you will win or lose a match on how well conditioned you are. We will usually wrestle a twelve minute match in practice, so that six minute match feels like nothing. Even with the time and effort you put in this sport, they will always be someone who might be just a little better.
