Headlined by country artists Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, and Kenny Chesney located at the MGM Resorts Festival Grounds in Las Vegas, was the 4th annual ACM Party for a Cause music festival. The festival leads up to one of the country’s largest music award shows, The Academy of Country Music Awards. My husband and I were lucky enough to be able to experience this wonderful event. Being such an eye opening experience sometimes people don’t realize how many human beings actually need help in this world. I’m thankful this is one of many charity events offered to help those in need.
ACM Party for A Cause was debuted in April 2013. The music festival includes live music from top country artists, food trucks, and fan base interactive experiences. The Band Perry and Dierks Bentley were the first artists to headline this event. Party for A Cause is a charity music event that helps raise awareness and funds for a variety of charities, benefitting ACM Lifting Lives. ACM Lifting Lives

A couple important 2016 beneficiaries of the event I would like to mention are Folds of Honor and The Navy SEAL Foundation. Folds of Honor was founded by Major Dan Rooney, a former F-16 pilot. Their mission basically is to help military families by providing educational scholarships to children and spouses of the military service members killed or disabled while serving our country. The Navy SEAL Foundation helps and provides assistance to the Navy Special Warfare community and their
While there are many small happenings throughout the year, the main focus is on “The Big Event”. This is a 12-hour long dance marathon where dancers who have spent the year raising money for the cause dance their hearts out, get to meet the children part of the Children’s Miracle network and their families, and have opportunities to continue giving (whether through signing up to donate bone marrow or having hair cut for Locks of Love). During this big party, attendees are not allowed to sit/lay down or have any caffeine. This is to try and replicate a tiny bit of how the kiddos feel on a daily basis, having to go through treatments and long hospital stays while still trying to keep their spirits up. Throughout the 12 hours, families are invited to take the stage and tell the story of their experiences with Universi...
Winner these rewards were really meaningful to him after what he has been through(Finan,Eileen). expenses. It takes a lot of fundraising to help and this event was one of the hundreds held
AC/DC plays at the ceremony. It is held in Central Park, on the field it is a sold out show.
While only a small percentage of the entire workforce was able to participate in the event, its intention was to provide employees with something to strive toward. It was also rejuvenating for those given the opportunity to attend. The event was inspiring and left you with the feeling that you work for a great company and they do care about you; so much so that they are willing to spend a lot of money and provide you with a wonderful experience . The event also focused heavily on the driving force of the company: the students and helping them to improve and change their lives. Employees returned to work feeling inspired and ready to do just that. The event provided the company with an opportunity to invest in their employees, reward them, and make them feel
After over three decades of broadcasting from the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville, the Grand Ole Opry, a live country radio program, moved about nine miles out of the city to Opryland U.S.A. A few months following the move, hostess Carolyn Holloran said “Country music is wherever the soul of a Country music fan is!”1 This quote was spoken in reference to the relocation of the Grand Ole Opry. Nevertheless, it can transcend this context to further describe the genre of Country music. From its roots in the Appalachians, to its commercialization and crossovers, Country music has come to represent the culture of the Southern United States. Through this music people have formed a collective identity which respects the past and hails the future. It is a genre that has grown and changed with its people.
On Monday March 25, some members of the baseball team, my girlfriend, and I traveled to Murray State University to watch a concert performed by Nelly and the St. Lunatics. It was a terrible night to go anywhere because it was raining and storming the whole way, but there was nothing that was going to stop us from going to the concert. We where all so hyped up about it and couldn’t wait to head out. My brother, who attends Murray State, had gotten us excellent seats about seventy-five feet away from the stage.
Preamble As we look back upon the 20th Century, we see the birth of American prominence. The century is marked by glorious American achievements ranging from the birth of the Space Age to the development of the Information Age. Now, as we venture through the new millennium, the potential for further American prosperity is enormous. At times this journey will be a perilous quest, but with valiant leadership this nation shall flourish.
The Donner Party was a band of settlers who set off in May 1846 to California and are historically known for resorting to cannibalism when trapped in the Sierra Nevada. In the fall of 1846, 25 members of the Donner Party became stranded in Alder Creek Valley due to heavy snowstorms (Sprincer). The previously thought shortcut became a death trap and the settlers faced bitter cold, starvation, and death for several months. Journals from party members and rescuers helped tell the events of cannibalism, however its part in the history of the Donner Party may be overexaggerated. Bones found in Alder Creek by Kelly Dixon, an archeologist, tell a different story of the trial and tribulations of the settlers stranded in the mountain pass that fateful winter.
In 1997, Tony Blair of the labour party won the United Kingdom’s general election on the ideology, goals and a party manifesto of a ‘new labour’, a revision, an update and a reform of the old labour party, bringing new radical politics to the 20th century - although some believe that labour only won the election due to the British publics increasing hate for Thatcher and the conservatives. The term new labour was a reflection on how the labour party was trying to reform itself and depart from the ideas of ‘old labour’ that had failed to win an election since 1974 and take on new ideas and politics that seemed radical, new and progressive and that would regain trust from the British voters. ‘New labour, new for Britain’ was the slogan that first appeared on the party’s manifesto in 1996 and soon became the party’s main slogan for the campaign of the 1997 elections. But how exactly was new labour new? New labour was trying to become more progressive with its politics that reformed all of the key policy domains that the government were interested in. By attempting to reform the party’s manifesto as well as clause IV, new labour attempted to become a new party that could progress British politics rather than rely on traditional politics of old labour. New labour wanted to modernise the party’s by perusing their traditional goals which include job support, economic growth, investments in public services, welfare and redistribution but they also wanted new progressive politics that catered to the minority groups in terms of social justice, for example civil partnerships (King,2002). However, some argue that new labour was not particularly ‘new’ and instead that Blair’s government had betrayed the traditions of the labour party and inst...
The patriots are the best team in the NFL. I have been a fan for my entire life and I believe everyone should be too. Here are 3 reasons why I think everyone should be a fan. One, they’re on their way to their 6th Super Bowl Win, two they have the best quarterback of all time, and finally they have one of the best coaches of all time.
The Progressive party of 1912 also known as the (Bull Moose Party) was the single most important motivation for social reforms during its time. Because it reinforced women’s rights by giving women an eight-hour workday in certain employments with a minimum wage, while women’s suffrage was not yet universal, over four million women could vote in presidential elections. (Gustafson, M, 1997) Roosevelt’s political party advocated federal regulation of industry to protect consumers, workers, and small businesses. (Bardes. B. A, 2016).
In August of 2004, Alex passed away at the age of eight ,knowing that, with the help of others, she had raised more than $1 million to help find a cure for the disease that took her life. Throughout all of this she helped create the foundation today known as Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). The goal of this charity is to raise money for pediatric cancer research with the help of kids and adults. They raise money by hosting different fundraising events.
There were so many choices of what to do that it made it impossible for me to attend everything. One of the attention grabbers they use every year jumped out immediately. Good music is always a great attraction. In years past, some of my favorites have performed at the Fair. I enjoyed the night we went and heard an aging Three Dog Night perform, and for a couple hours, I felt as if I was seventeen once again. The practice continued this year. There were four major musical groups at the fair. This included Hinder, Martina McBride, America, and Joe Nichols. To our rural audience at a county fair this was quite a treat. For our bargain hunting values, it was incredible, since the price of admission was
The months preceding and following this specific family trip, were filled with various milestones which prohibited much bonding: my mother’s diagnosis of lung cancer, my older sister’s wedding day, and my senior year preparation. If it wasn’t for our last hurrah, we may not have been able to successfully sit the needed amount of time aside for family bonding. My sister and I, avid Twenty One Pilots fans, wanted to hit up one of their shows in Colorado. Partnered with a handful of other thoroughly enjoyable bands, Twenty One Pilots were guaranteed to put on the concert of the year.
