Dear, Wildcat Remember, you aren't alone. There are so many people going through the same thing. You may feel so many different things, just remind yourself that there are people that are feeling the same way. Make new friends. There are many people who like the same things as you and are wanting to make new friends. Sometimes you may have nothing in common, but you need a friend so make one! There are many people out there in the same position as you. Join an interesting club or sport. Cypress Woods has so many spots on teams because we have a large participating student body. There are so many clubs to choose from, like the H.E.A.T. club, Triathlon club, Water polo club, or culinary classes. Cypress Woods offers a large amount of Sports
you can join in your first year. If you've always wanted to tryout Swimming, or Wrestling do it! Your teachers will probably help. This has probably already been said to you so many other times, but I’m going to say it one more time. Cypress Woods teachers want to make sure you 100% understand the material. Though your teacher may not be the nicest, just keep in mind that they are on the same team as you. Never be scared to ask questions. If you aren't understanding the subject, ask your teacher. There are others who don’t understand it, all the time, you’re not the only one in that boat. If you are having trouble you can go to tutorials for extra help on the subject from your teacher or any teacher. Your Fellow Classmate, Bryce Vest
Clubs were a great way for me to expand my interests outside of athletics. I was involved in Key Club and FCA freshman year and I enjoyed meeting new people and making a difference in our community. I was inducted a member of NHS junior year and this was a great way to make service a priority.
Why meet new people when your friends are at your fingertips?
Looking for an activity that is is fast-paced, aggressive, and competitive? There is a discourse community that perfectly fits this description. These communities are a defined as a group filled with individuals who share a main interest, idea, and goal. Each discourse community has its own set of intercommunication, lexis, genre, and hierarchy within the members. This year, I was lucky enough to join the Women’s Water Polo Club at Purdue. When I first joined the organization, I felt as if it was going to be difficult to fit it into my busy work schedule, but I was wrong. With school work and other priorities that come with the college lifestyle, the Women’s Water Polo Club works hard to win as many games as possible with the implementation of daily practices, team meetings, and many versions of communication. The team is welcoming of new members, whether they be novices or previous players, and encourages other students to join the organization through social media and campus advertisements. Overall, this active club allows a group of athletic females to bond with one another in order to achieve the main goal of being a successful water polo team.
Marion Military Institute is considered to have one of the best preparatory programs for preparing cadets entering a service academy. Without a doubt, MMI exposes its cadets to a rigorous academic routine similar to that of a service academy. However, SAP cadets need preparation in a sport, since they are required to play one at a service academy. Many cadets are deprived of sports, merely because it isn’t offered and there is no group or club organized to play it. With the implementation of my organized plan, club sports will be an option for cadets, and the SAP program will be more productive and successful.
Throughout life, you lose friends and you gain friends. Everyone should be able to relate to that. Like in August’s life, things change. He finds new friends, like Jack and Summer, but he looses friends, like his dog Daisy. His is life changes, but it changes for the
Every year incoming college freshman go to their new college or university expecting to find their favorite sport, but sometimes due to lack of participation the sport is not there.
The process of becoming a member is much harder than people would think, myself included until I experienced it first hand. Meeting people during rush week is easy, as you are respectfully invited to activities and dinners. Each group tries to persuade you to join their Fraternity by telling how great their organization is. Whether it is done by their involvement in philanthropy events, leadership learning, community service or party life they all have something different to offer. That’s where the process becomes more difficult as you try to find the one that best fits your ideals. Do you want to party all the time or do you want to get something out of it and what is it that you want to ge...

You’ve heard the advice before “get involved, join a club”, at the University of Montana (UM) we are a very large commuter college, involvement is a good way to develop relationships with other students and to create a sense of community for yourself and others.
Student life has always been an integral part of a college experience and unfortunately it can be difficult to find at community colleges. Although, there has been plenty of debate over whether or not students attending community colleges should be provided with an athletic department. Some feel that is too much of a financial risks, however athletic teams on college campus’ have been proven to support not only its students, but the school as well.
Typically there are “four basic types of student clubs: academic, special interest, special project or issue, sports”(North). Students who participate in academic clubs gain knowledge outside of the classroom that applies later on in the class. Students become involved based upon a common interest and hope to be with other students who share the same interests are in the special interest focus club. A third type of a student club is very similar to the special interest focus. “These clubs (special project or issue focus) provide students with expanded leadership experiences and involvement in the community. The final type of club is a sports club”(North).
Campus recreational sports and international student services departments might consider developing an ‘intramural buddy’ program in which new Brunei students or those who have no one to participate with could be matched up with another Brunei or international student who has similar interests or in joining a team. Previous research has also demonstrated various interpersonal relation strategies such as trying to find people with whom to do activities with, encouraging friends to participate, adjusting activity based on what friends want to do or be more willing to participate with people they do not know, are the effective negotiation strategies that can help facilitate participation in campus recreational sports (Beggs, Elkins & Powers, 2005; Elkins & Beggs, 2007).

Perhaps you have decided that you want to lose weight or just become more physically fit. Being involved in team sports can help you achieve this goal. First of all, decide on a sport that you enjoy. Secondly, start practicing and playing with the team on a regular basis. Last but not least, incorporate healthy food choices into your diet.
As I reach the seemingly boring age of 19, I am able to look back and reflect on how my choices in the past have gotten me to where I am today. One of the most significant decisions I have made in my life was to minimize my friend group. Now, losing friends is something you hear about before you even hit junior high. The common phrase is repeated over and over again, when referring to high school, “You find out who your real friends are.” As a scrawny little freshman, with no sense of reality, I refused to believe that that phrase would ever apply to my life. The end of my sophomore year is when my then, sixteen-year-old self, realized that that overused phrase was more relevant to my life than I wanted it to be. So I did something about it.
