Women around the world suffer from infertility. Treatments to help those women to get pregnant are with medicines, techniques to assist with conception, and operations. The main treatments to treat infertility are: medications to increase fertility, they can be used alone or additional to another process (Ex. Clomifene, Medications containing gonadotrophins-releasing hormones, Metformin combined Clomifene). Surgery is recommended in cases where the cause of the problem can be solved by this procedure such as Endometriosis, Fallopian tube problems, Fibroids, Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and Male infertility. Last but not least is the assisted conception method using techniques like In vitro fertilization (IVF) where fertilization happen …show more content…

All babies, in this case, could come from one egg or from more than one. If only one egg is fertilized by one sperm and the egg splits into 2 or more embryos, the babies will come from the same egg and are called identical. The experts consider that this happens by possibility. It is not connected to the age, family history, or race. For identical babies, all will have the same gender, blood type, and will probably have the same skin color, eyes, and hair. The possibility of having severe problems its related to every baby the mother hold at the same time. Pregnant women with multiple babies can expect to develop preeclampsia which means high blood pressure. They can also have gestational diabetes that can occur to pregnant women only. Early babies delivery which means that babies' organs are not fully formed yet and this can cause complicated health problems the baby's lungs, heart, brain, and eyes. Miscarriage is another risk in multiple pregnancy cases, the mother can lose any of the babies and also more than one. If anything goes wrong with the chromosomes or the genes, birth defects on born babies may occur due to genetic disorders.
