Also after he was caught and beat up he returned in a bad shape and was sewing another flag to the inside of his shirt. This shows true pride in the American flag. In I Hear America Singing Whitman states in line 10, “The day what belongs to the day—at night the party of young fellows, robust, friendly, Singing with open mouths their strong melodious songs.” This sentence show the cheerfulness of American workers and they take pride in their job and in what they do for a living in America. I agree with some of Barbara Kingsolver’s statement, but not all of it. I agree when she says traditional families are for the most part are stable and show successful relationships to their children. However, I do not agree when she says the traditional Barbie and Ken households are never disassembled by divorce. I also do not agree when Kingsolver said the divorce people, gay families, Brady Bunch families, and single parent households result in failures for children.
