Throughout this written lab report there will be a highly indicated improvement of the particular chosen skill in the sport of netball. Shooting is the skill that is analysed, practiced and improved by recording the amount of successful shots out of 5 at different distances away from the hoop, using both left arm and right arm. This training was shown within a small weekly training program. This particular simple training program was utilised to help improve the skill of shooting in the sport of netball. This skill is not simple, once broken down into small counterparts the skill can be rather complex.

These technique changes may account for the loss of accuracy in the longer shots. This is where the training program comes into play, when it comes to utilising the 4 week skill training. Each of the lessons are the same, this is to increase the chance of getting the goal with your non- dominant hand. So, 5 shots were taken from the 1 metre stage, 5 shots from the 2 metre stage, 5 shots from the 3 metre stage and 5 shots from the 4 metre stage. These were recorded each week and lesson and the improvement was very minor. This is because I personally am at the autonomous stage of learning. As a netball player myself, playing for many years helps with these skill learning tasks and to some extent does help improve the skill, but only very minimally.
To become skilled a performer, you have to spend time learning, practising and being guided through the steps and processes of the skill, sport or activity you are trying to improve. The learning process has to coincide with the experience the performer has in terms of understanding, awareness and ability. There are 3 stages of learning, progressing from the beginner’s stage to the expert stage of performance; Cognitive stage, Associative stage and Autonomous

The performance of the particular skill improves and few errors are made. The ability to self-correct the errors is slowly enhancing. The intermediate player is more so able to handle more information and more complex information about the skill.
Autonomous stage is for advanced players, these players have become automatic to the particular skills that were learnt. Strategic decisions are made during game situations, due to having more awareness and ability to apply the skills. Coaching only needed the fine tuning and the finer details of the skill and tactics. The player’s consistency is high and movement is smooth and fluent.
The skills of shooting in netball is an open skill, this is because the environment is unpredictable, especially when it comes to the opponents ability to defend, depending how skilled they are depends on how good your shot can possibly be. However, the shot all depends on yourself and how you concentrate, aim, have good stability and balance and accuracy then the shot shouldn’t be unsuccessful.
In lacrosse, the overhead shot is the most vital part of the game and the most important skill that an offensive player can have. The goal of the lacrosse shot is to create a scoring attempt with peak speed and accuracy. Each player is different regarding personal technique; however, the basis of each shot remains the same and are interpreted through six phases. The general purpose of this paper is to describe trunk rotation and its impact on power and accuracy which will maximize the potential of a lacrosse shot.

Imagining myself as a high school soccer coach, I would like to optimize my team’s kicking performance. Some players consistently kick the ball successfully with the correct use of power and accuracy. To ensure that all players are able to achieve the same optimal kicking habits, this paper will document (1) the effective and ineffective habits of kicking, (2) describe biomechanical based kicking assessments, (3) describe how these assessments will measure the effective aspects of kicking and expected findings, and (4) provide suggestions on how I may modify programming based on the insights gained from these assessments.
...tremely well. It’s common sense to eliminate the thoughts and emotions that hinder my ability to play well. This is also an example of how life is 10% what happens and 90% how we react to it, or how we process that information based on our individual perception. Since we associate things after facts, it’s important to make the right associations; that, however, tends to be ineffective because of our personal, subjective views. This is why the cognitive and affective domains are just about directly proportional to each other. Also, the body’s performance is not the same year-round: it oscillates from poor to excellent, which is why there are peaks in a performer’s career where everything seems to be going right.
What is Biomechanics? It is the study of forces and their effects on the living system (McGinnis, 2013). In this essay, I will be looking at the biomechanics of running. Running, as well as any other sport requires skills for which advancement is due to consistent deliberate practice and effective development. However, runners should establish a training system that actively builds their original running pattern instead of basing it on what works well for others. Understanding the biomechanics of running gives a better knowledge of their running techniques and points out areas of concerns that require improvement. Despite the fact that running is dependent on the interaction of the whole body, breaking down the running pace into single components allows us to further understand how minor changes can increase improve performance and decrease injury risk.
Soccer has a high significance in building strength, health, and endurance (“Soccer Health Benefit”). To be able to soccer a goal onto the other side, one must be able to run and kick the ball. These two gestures in turn build the persons strength and cardiovascular health. When I stopped playing soccer in my transiti...
Findings from this study contradicts Caraffa, Cerulli, Projetti, Aisa, and Rizzo’s (1996) study which found that balance training significantly reduced ACL injuries in male soccer players. Intervention groups showed improvement for non-dominant leg with extended knee balance, however that was the only change seen throughout the study in both groups. No significant difference was found for balance and postural sway of the lower extremities for both groups. Results showed that the intervention group had a major injury rate compared to the control group. However, difference in injury rate was determined to not be related with balance board training by having a separate study. Even though there were drop outs during the study, it was not enough to affect the detection of reduction in injury. It can be concluded that one season of balance board training did not reduce lower extremity injuries in female soccer

The sheer energy of a gymnast alone can be felt by audiences of all ages, but what the spectators lack the ability to feel is the pounding of the bodies that bear the impact of the athletes in action. Gymnastics consists of a mixture of acrobatic performances of four different events for females, and six different events for males (Gianoulis 1). Gymnastics is demanding in a multitude of ways, including: physically, emotionally and mentally. It requires countless hours of dedication. The concerns of most gymnasts are moving up to the next level, or getting a more advanced skill, while the concerns of the doctors, coaches, and parents revolve mostly around the athlete’s health, which is put at stake for the adored yet dangerous sport. Injuries are common among both male and female gymnast alike, but due to the fact a female gymnast’s career peaks at the same time of major growth and development, a female gymnast’s body as a whole is more likely to undergo lifelong changes or affects (Gianoulis 2). Among the injuries of the mind blowing athletes, the most common ones affect the ankles, feet, lower back, wrist, and hands of individuals (Prevention and Treatment 1). From sprains, to the breaks, the intriguing sport of gymnastics is physically demanding on a gymnast’s body.

Soccer is a sport that is all about motion and how to use movements most effectively. Speed and velocity are very important when it comes to motion because with out them there would be no motion. When playing soccer speed is essential to being a productive player. The game is fast paced and so the players must also be quick on their feet. Soccer players may not know that velocity is essential to being able to control their movements. But physics proves that both are essential to soccer. Speed and direction are b...
There are many aspects to the game of basketball and physics can be applied to all of them. Although to be good at basketball it is not necessary to play it from a physics point of view. Basketball players become good by developing muscle memory for the actions that must be performed in the game of basketball from years of practice. Nevertheless knowing some of the physics in the game of basketball can help a good player be a better player. In this paper I will cover the three most important aspects of the game, shooting, dribbling and passing.
This research task requires that, through participation in skill learning and game play during the volleyball unit we have been required to observe and analyse the characteristics of skilled performers; receive feedback on weaknesses in technique and develop and participate in training activities that could correct these weaknesses.
