Since thanksgiving is coming. I decided to write about three things I am thankful for. The three thing are Family, sports and YouTube. No YouTube is not my third thing I am thankful for. It’s the third one that came to my mind. I love my family because they are loving. One time when we were on vacation and we were walking I saw grass or at least I thought. I jumped in it. It was just moss on top of water. It was about three foot deep I was seven. It was 42 degrees out so we ran to the car my mom gave me her sweater. That is one of the many things that I am thankful for. I adore sports because they are fun. All my friends play sports and it is just fun to be competitive. I like to play football and basketball Last thing
My family has always been there for me which is why I took our family photo for my art project. Even though we can get under each other’s skin sometimes at the end of the day we all still love each other and have one another to talk to and to blow steam off of. Like in the books how Izzie and Mira went to their mom for help I go to my mom for help all the time. Mira’s brothers were there to watch out for them when it came to boys and dating. I hate to say it but my little brother and younger guy cousins have gone on dates with me and my boyfriend’s more than anyone. I guess what I’m trying to say is that family will always be there for you. Even the times when you wish they weren’t. In the end family is all you’ve got.
Sports really shape our society, and culture. You will not find very many people who do not have some love for at least one sport or another. There are so many sports out there that people love and will always watch the sport of their choice.
Thanksgiving Compare and Contrast Food, Family, and Fun!! Thanksgiving is a national holiday in the United States, always celebrated on a Thursday in November. There are many different ways people celebrate Thanksgiving. You give thanks and celebrate what you are most thankful for. Thanksgiving is a national holiday that has many different traditions, activities, and foods in different families.
Textbooks in today’s schools still tell the same story that has been handed down from generation to generation. Every year children dress up and put on plays about the famous story of the first Thanksgiving. No one knows the truth though or at least people pretend to not know the embarrassing truth of our “founding fathers.” Textbooks today give the candy coated version of good saintly Englishmen come to a better world and find good neighbors willing to help in their time of need.
No fruitful information On the edge of winter comes November, re-introducing early evenings, brisk air and leafless trees but, before the dormancy of winter settles in, the annual compensation of Thanksgiving brings families and friends together to celebrate life with food. Common on most tables, turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie fill our stomachs and warm our hearts. Each Thanksgiving brings about the recognition of a year’s worth of changes and last Thanksgiving is no exception.
Sports play a very important role in my life ever since I could walk. My interests in playing sports began at the age of three as my parents signed me up for soccer, flag football, basketball, and lacrosse. First grade started my competitive edge as I began to play for travel teams in various sport tournaments. This competitive edge transferred from the sports field to the classroom having teachers and coaches helping me be the best I can be. Sports have continually well-shaped and defined my character by teaching me how to accept a win from working hard, also how a loss is an opportunity to learn and fix mistakes.
Thanksgiving is undoubtedly a holiday to celebrate family. It also celebrates many other things, as the name suggests. Thanksgiving is a holiday to give thanks for the things that a person has rather than to wish for more things. Accomplishments and shiny cars are not part of the essence of Thanksgiving, as these do not have the inherent humbleness expected of the holiday. This air of humility and frugality, harkening back to the days of the pilgrims and Native Americans, is probably what lead Ellen Goodman to describe the holiday as a suppressing of individualism. However, the rift between individuality and family that Goodman describes in Thanksgiving is not as deep as she makes it seem, and Thanksgiving Day is hardly the only day of the
Sports is what has molded us into the people we are today. The world of sports is so unique, and people have different interest and fascinations. From being a child I can remember watching the Red Sox and Celtics with my father and becoming a die hard fan for those teams due to my family being serious fans. Not only did watching those games turn me into a good New England fan but it also gave me some good quality time with my father and brothers.
When I turned three, I started playing my favorite sport to this day, Soccer! I love soccer because it gives me this feeling of excitement and I just love winning with all of my friends on the field. I loved soccer and I looked forward to it every day. I met a lot of my friends in soccer and it is one of the reasons that I started to become an athletic person. Soccer is still my favorite sport and I love it. I am planning to still play soccer up to the varsity team.
I sit at a table full of conscided men. They laugh about obnoctios things as a servant serves me a platefull of lobster, salad, and chicken all drenched in some kind of dressing. I begin to eat emmidiadly.
Football is my favorite sport. I have always been interested in football. When I was very young, I would watch the games with my family. It was so much fun to see everyone get excited when their team was winning and get angry when their team was losing. Of course, our favorite team was the Saints. I used to have a Saints uniform to wear when I watched the games with my family. After the game, we would go outside and play. Sundays were my favorite day of the week because the day was filled with games on TV and then everyone playing football.
I am incredibly thankful for the people in my life because they have lead me to a promising and fulfilling path in life by guiding me in the right direction. It is an aspiration of mine to provide a similar example to others.
In the end, my family as a whole is the reason that I am the person that I am today. It’s the way that different personalities all come together as one, the way my family handles hard situations, and the closeness I have with them that has really impact me and my life. I know that I would not be as cheerful, hardworking, or positive without seeing all these qualities around me for a majority of my life. It’s astonishing how just 6 people can change you for the better. I know I would be in a very different place in my life if it wasn’t for my family. Family is different for everyone, and mine is truly the best people for me.
My family is a love I have. My immediate family consists of six people: my dad, mom, and three sisters and me. However, I love these people on a different scale than I love books. Whether it is a hand to guide, a tissue to wipe away tears, or simply a smile to make my day better I can count on people to love me and so, henceforth, I love them in return. I love my parents for many reasons. They are always there for me when I need help or am need of anything.
