Prompt 1 Taking risks is a task I do not like to partake in as it forces me to take a step out of my comfort zone. When I received this assignment and read the prompt, I realized that it was all about taking risks and that I had no other option but to take a risk myself. However, the risk that I have to take cannot be over any type of social media, but in person with someone whom I have the most complaints about. This is when I decided that I would need to have a mature face-to-face conversation with my sister, who I have not seen for over 5 months since she attends school in Michigan. The only way I was going to have this conversation with her is if I took the most safe and modest risk possible.
Prompt 2

The uncomfortable feelings I experienced was annoyed that I had to be the one to speak up, angry because it is frustrating to know that my own sister does not even want to talk to me, and then impatient because I am tired of waiting for our relationship to get better when neither of us is doing anything about it. Finally, the uncomfortable sensations I felt was always being tired because thinking about my sister all day takes a lot out of me, my body starts to heat up as I get angry thinking about the situation, and then I cannot move once I am somewhere because all I can focus on is what I have done wrong or what I can do to improve my relationship with …show more content…
My non-constructive behaviors included taking a nap, watching Netflix, hanging out with friends, eating, and online shopping. Before using the defusion technique, my non-constructive behaviors was the way I ignored all of the thoughts in my head. That is when I realized I needed to do something about my thoughts and used the defusion technique to see my thoughts for what they were, just words, and to just let go of all the struggling with them. Defusion can be best described as freedom from self-limiting beliefs. This means that it interrupts unhealthy and unhelpful thought instead of getting rid of them completely. It is essential within the defusion technique to realize that your thoughts are just words and that they should not have any control over your whole life. Some common defusion techniques include recognizing the thought, turning your thought into a song, thanking your mind for the thought, and doing a silly voice with your thought. The defusion technique does not magically erase your unhealthy thoughts from your mind, however it helps you cope with that thought and make you realize that it has no power over
I always thought I would never want a little sister, because of such a huge burden. But tables turned and I now have a god-sister. Ever since then me and her have gotten really close. I really enjoy her company, and she is just like my real sister. She is usually over at our house more then any of my friends come over. In a way I do take responsibility for her. She is around me a lot, and I know that I can't set a bad example. I think she might look up to me, and for that I feel responsible for her care.
Federal statistics show that drivers, aged 85 and older, are involved in 3 fatal accidents per day (Davis & DeBarros). Currently in the US, less than half of all states require elderly drivers to appear in person to renew their driver’s licenses. Only two states, Illinois and New Hampshire, require elderly drivers to pass road tests before a new license can be issued. Forcing elderly drivers to appear in person is the only thing that has been scientifically proven to reduce fatal accidents because state employees can visibly analyze these applicants for physical impairments (Davis & DeBarros). Elderly drivers put themselves, and others, at a much higher risk of accidents and death due to lack of abilities caused by the aging process. State legislation, countrywide, should impose laws that are stricter to prevent incidence with drivers 65 and older.
This is something I have been forced to get used to. Years and years, I have had to put up with her rude, hurtful, embarrassing remarks, only to have her apologize each time and me responding untruthfully with “It’s okay.” It’s never okay. Since when was it “okay” to put your older sister down and belittle them? Since when was it okay to put me through all this pain and suffering?
Taking risk can be dangerous, but in these stories the characters took risk because they had a motive. In the Call of the Klondike( David Nessiner & Kim Richardson), The Other Side of the Sky (Farah Ahemdi), and The Song of the Wandering Aengus (Irish Mythology); the characters took risk over being persistent, desperate, and having desire. Taking risk is something we all do; sometimes this is over curiosity and other times we take risk for a purpose.
Caution is important when using essential oils because they are powerful plant compounds. However, essential oils are great for improving body health—don’t use then without consulting a professional. We all have taken at least a few risks at some point. Some are dangerous like skipping red lights. Others are smaller, like taking something we shouldn’t. Let’s find out!
Would you risk your life for someone else? Even if they did this on purpose. Why would you risk your life for someone if they know there not supposed to be doing whatever they are doing? Many people have been killed saving others. Even when there doing something there not supposed to. People should not have to risk their lives for people like this. People that do crazy things. So paramedics, rangers, and all of that kind of people you should not have to risk your life for someone else.

I will never talk to my sister again! It all started at 6:30am my dad woke me up and told me to get ready for school so I stumbled out of my comfy bed in my dark blue room and turned the corner then my dad told me to wake up my sister because he had to go, he worked as a bus driver so he has to leave at 6:30 every morning, so I walked out of my room through the hallway and straight to my sisters room, I ran up the steps as loud as I could to try to wake her then I got deeper and deeper into my sisters grumpy teenage room so I turned the corner turned on the lights and screamed WAKE UP SYDNEY!!!
My relationship with my younger sister, Riya, has been filled with conflict and has presented challenges ever since we (Parents and I) made the decision, that she live with me while she finished her undergraduate. Our relationship before her moving to U.S. was that of most siblings that age, a caring loving relationship that often led to arguments about trivial things. But over the past year, I have recognized that my motivation towards her and our relationship has changed because now I feel directly responsible for her well-being and the relationship often feels paternalistic.
Without a doubt being the oldest sister has shaped who I am through the various occasions that I’ve had to care for and work in unity with my family. Making and selling items with my sisters for Charity Bazaars taught me responsibility, and that even though my ideas might sound the best to me, I have to encourage and incorporate other’s input as well. Even when we disagreed, I had to use my composing skills, which continued to build up my resilience. Despite this challenge, we were determined to make a change and donated our profits to Nepal Youth Foundation, helping girls go to school. Together, we will continue investing our time helping others and supporting less fortunate girls our
Systematic risk refers to the risk that faces all the firms operating in a particular industry. Systematic risk is not diversifiable as it comprises of risks that are unavoidable by all the companies in the sector. For instance, these hazards can include such as power shortages, inflation or change in government regulations in a country will definitely affect a company. It is therefore clear that there is no firm in the industry, which can prevent the systematic risks from occurring, neither can the company diversify from the risks (Marshall, 2015).Systematic risk is sometimes referred to as volatility and is measured using the risk factor, known as the Beta. Potential investors can use the weighted beta factor for the businesses operating within a particular sector, to determine whether an investment in a specific industry, is worthwhile (Marshall, 2015).
My succeeding sister was the unsurpassed apple of my family’s eye. Born eight years my junior she was welcomed enthusiastically by my older sister and myself. She was our little darling to whom we amused indulgently. When her sister was born, the youngest of my mother’s children, she gradually drifted towards a closer relationship with her full sister who is three years her
In recent discussions of self-reliance, an issue has come up while I was reading a few essays by Ralph Waldo Emerson and Apology by Plato, I asked myself have I been holding myself back. On the one hand, I feel as if I have, for example when it has come to education I never had to decide what classes to take or decide my schedule. From this perspective most classes were picked for you except for electives, but the classes of real interest are not available until higher education. However I would have to see this from the outside in by examining the structure that society puts most of their youth through to give them a basic foundation to eventually build from, but in this process makes these young students lack in the ability to rely on themselves.
