However, when relating with the present or modern time, it is certainly very different from the past (during the imam mazhab and sahabat), then the first character of al-hajiyyat turned into al-daruriyyah. For example like electricity. Of course we think without any power human can stay alive and not lead to the extinction. People who still live in basic or simple in a modern city, its reliance on relatively high electric, traffic control, water purification and its flow into the tall buildings is high. Furthermore, carrying out various activities in the hospital, to run the factory, conducting various household appliances, and all depend on the power. In many ways, Author Wes and Other Wes had very similar negative characteristics such as performing below standards in academics. However, as a result of Author Wes’s financial sacrifices and mental support from his mother, he overcame his struggles and reformed himself in military school to become a progressive citizen. This example of how important a person’s surroundings is to living a successful life relates to many if not all people. The spiritual development of a community is a component absent in western formulations of modernity. For Deeb’s interlocutors the process of spiritual modernity is manifested in public piety and “authenticated Islam.” Deeb argues that women are essential participants in the construction of piety and “authenticated Islam” within the enchanted modern. Forms of public piety and social participation, including veiling, community service, and hosting Ashura majlis are necessary components in shaping this enchanted modern. Deeb further examines women’s roles in shifting away from a perceived religious backwardness towards a modern society throughout the second part of her book. Her discussion of the Ashura festival commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Husayn illustrates the shift from a traditional (taqlidi) form of religious worship to “authenticated Islam.” Deeb discusses how latam- self-flagellation- is considered backwards and according to pious Shi’i women the authenticated practice involves learning the lessons from Ashura and applying them to everyday life. The differences in traditional verses authenticated Islamic practices of Ashura reflect the increased participation and roles of women in the commemoration, and in the process of developing public piety and “authenticated
In conclusion, humankind is blessed with life as God created it. One must reflect on their actions throughout life because one will be judged by God in the next life, one must see the importance of gasping liberation, and one must have a loving and open heart when helping the poor. ?The Cask of Amontillado? by Edgar Allan Poe is a story about two men at a carnival, the narrator Montresor, who is being eaten by jealousy, and Fortunato, a rich drunk man that has a weakness for wine. It is through deception that Montresor achieves his revenge against Fortunato. He did not believe that killing Fortunato is wrong because of the insults and injures Fortunato brought against him. ?The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne.? (Poe, 75) says Montresor. Montresor brought Fortunato down into the catacomb. This was his chance for revenge.
Lin et al (2011) indicate that on the 14th of August 2003, New York was engulfed in a number of a series of power generation interruptions which subsequently triggered a shutdown for protective purposes. Although the shutdown was intended for good purpose, million of New Yorkers in the Northeastern US experienced over 31 hours of blackout beginning on August 14th 4.11 p. m. DeBlasio et al (2004) attest to the arguments of Lin et al (2011) and add that the real effect of the blackout was very significant to human safety and health as a survey by US Department of Transportation found out. For instance, they indicate that 11, 600 traffic lights went off coupled with around 413 subway trains being stopped thereby affecting approximately 400,000 passengers. U.S-Canada Power System Outage Task Force (2003) reports that approximately 800 instances of people caught in elevators who need rescue were recorded. The report also indicated that the high rise buildings of New York within the affected area lacked water since they rely on electric pumps to transport the water to all the floors. Additionally, recycling plants were unable to recycle raw sewage during the period of the black out (Lin et al, 2011). Therefore, some waste was pumped to rivers and hence becoming a health hazard.
Communities were self-sufficient in which people found or grew whatever they needed to feed, clothe, house themselves, meet any other religious or ceremonial traditions and to provide for their chiefs. Any extra or surplus that a farmer or fisherman produced would be shared with others. In return, the others shared what they had. They did not grow or make anything to sell as there was no markets or stores. The people produced extra to provide for the daily needs of the chiefs. The ali’i were expected to take care of the people and make sure that there was enough food and supplies for everyone, and to conduct ceremonies that pleased the gods.

To begin with, I will be talking about the first main idea and that is the cultural norms of the Bedouins. Bedouins are considered the Arab culture’s purist representatives. They are distinct from most people of the ancient time, who preferred living near rivers (bedawi.com, 2015). Bedouins prefer to live in the open desert. They live in tents and each tent takes 3-4 adult individuals and many children. In addition, Bedouins herd animals for a living. Royal tribes are known to herd camel while other individuals herded sheep and goats. Work is usually divided between men and women in the Bedouin society. Men do everything that needs to
Often women in these countries are forced to wear a burqa or hijab. These traditional coverings are supposed to keep these women safe. Just like the lady of Shalott’s tower kept the lady safe yet secluded; so secluded that no one “hath seen her wave her hand [,] or at the casement see her stand” (Tennyson, 23-25). In A Thousand Splendid Suns, Rasheed often told both his wives to always keep themselves covered in burqas because he did not want other men to leer at what was his property. In that society, women are told to cover themselves from head to toe. This is due to the fact that their beauty is a distraction to men and might make them take the wrong “action.” This is not right, society should not make women think that they are a distraction or force them to wear something they do not want to wear. Society should consider if these women dress respectively then that should be
How did it all change for the better you might ask. To start off how would you like to have no electricity, because over half our world runs on, and depends on it for daily uses. Either it would be from checking your smart-phones
We are not necessarily meant to live a comfortable lifestyle. Such a life would chock the freedom's that make hero's out of men.
Islam today is a prominent religion, with over 600 million followers, delcared and established by it's prophet Muhamad. It is not only a religion, but an entire way of life, which accounts all aspects. Sharia literally translates to, “the path to the water hole,” meaning that muslims have to follow this path to appease Allah and have a virtuous life. It is not prominent in all Islamic countries, but in others it dominates and rules government and society, from daily routine to weighing heavily in personal status law and in criminal law. The female population receives the harsher conditions of Sharia, versus men who utilize it for empowerment. Some elements of Sharia are similar to the common practices of other popular religions such as Christianity or Judaism, in terms of austerity, though other methods employed by fundamentalist Muslims, have cultivated bad judgement from outsiders, and apprehension towards the religion.
