Study overseas helps students become more suitable when they start their social life. It is proved by Doctor Xukajia from Oxford University in his research “The circumstance of Chinese students studying in British universities”. The experience of university is, for most new students, a steep learning curve in gaining independence. But studying abroad takes that a whole step further, challenging students to really develop as individuals. Dee Roach said:”You obviously have to cope on your own when you are studying abroad. You have to be able to look after yourself and sort out your own affairs.” It is hard for overseas students to live themselves, it is like baby eagles flying without their mothers. These students will have a better job opportunity than anyone else in their own country because they are “Returnees”. During the time students study overseas, they will meet a diverse range of people. “Your exposure to many different types of people will not only help you to develop your people skills, but it will also give you a firmer knowledge of others, both friend and foe” said Liu Jia from QingHua university, the head of the social environment department. With the constant development in society, people need to cooperate with others in a variety of fields, instead of working individually. Since a single man’s wisdom and capability is always limited while in contrast a group has unlimited strength, it is very important to cooperate with others. However, many people, especially young students and teenagers do not realize this. Most of students who study overseas could make a great improvement on their awareness of cooperating with others. The research from Liu Jia once more shows that 85% of Chinese international students have a better skill of cooperating with others, it is shown
Studying abroad is a dream for many people especially, who live in a country that has lacks education. It is possible that a dream realized for those who they want. However, it has many consequences, causing lack of livelihood to adapt to the different languages and cultures. Eva Hoffman, author of “Lost in Translation” wrote about her experience when she moved from Poland to Canada as a teenager. She felt as a “felt persona” when she merged with Canadians with different culture and language. Also, she felt as a woman who has two different figures, causing a lack of acclimatization. My own experience is similar Hoffman’s experience but, the most different thing that made me a little comfortable is trying to convince myself that

Have you ever thought about studying abroad? No, not just for a few months for your work-experience, but a whole year (or longer) as a transfer-student. Of course, you don’t make such a decision from one minute to the next. It needs to be thought over well. Going to college is a big change in your life because it usually means living on your own for the first time, but as a foreign student it is even a bigger change because you are on your own in another country. This is often the greatest concern for students to go abroad: to leave everything behind. They have trouble leaving their family and the familiar environment. They think this price is just too high. But if they only knew how rich they will be when they come back.
