A lot of different things pops out in our mind when heard of the year 2014,but for me it is the year where I first step foot in my university life towards my future. So of course there is quite a number of things for me to achieve in order to success in my life. In order to achieve all those goals, plans and targets I decided to come up with my own personal development plan from the year 2014 to 2018 to get myself organised. “Know who you are, and be it. Know what you want, and go out and get it!” ― Carroll Bryant is a quote that made me aware of having my own personal development plan. There are few branches in my personal development plan. First of all I planned to learn, obtain and improve the skills and knowledge that I needed for my survival …show more content…
Social relationship is very important for my survival during my university life and along the journey to my success in the future. The first thing that I would like to emphasis in my life on social relationship is make new friends. Friends plays a very important roles in every human’s life because we normally share our problems and ideas with them. Although I have so many friends in past and present but I still want to make new friends during my university life because it would be so useful for me to graduate my degree with distinction. At the same time the memories with friends is very hard to gain and it can be retold and behold for many years to come. On the other hand making new friends also enhance my communication skills. Most probably I can improve my English fluency by communicate with foreign friends and get myself used with talking to new friends because it will be useful during my interview for jobs or scholarships. My next plan would be volunteer myself to be a Google student ambassador. This would be my first step in contributing to google “Project Ara” where they are trying to make “phoneblock” which is easy to
Their faith in me allows me to push forward, and drive me to stay on track , so I can reach my goals. In addition, without my passion to want to help others none of my goals I want to achieve would be possible.
Ten years ago I was sitting in a classroom striving to understand the English language and how to read and write properly. I am a Mexican immigrant who came into the United States following the “American Dream” in search of a better life. I am a hard working individual with a passion for service and self-determination to make a difference in people’s lives. I come from a family that values unity and service to others. Caring for other people is what I love to do and it’s what makes me feel I have a real purpose in life. A career as a health care professional will fulfil both my personal and professional goals.
In many ways developing a personal improvement plan can help prevent complacency, generate personal growth, and build self-confidence. The basic premise is based on the determination of specific goals, and developing strategies to achieve them. As a forty-seven year old college student, I’ve had my share of implementing improvement plans. Some bore excellent results, while others produced stress and anxiety. Cultivating improvement requires an awareness of your particular strengths and weaknesses, also diligence to work on those areas. In the past, I had a tendency to become depressed, or discouraged when I failed to reach a goal. I am a thinker by nature and apt to experience analysis paralysis, a state in which I become so caught up in planning that I cannot take action. The areas I struggle with the most are, stress management, time management, and finding an optimal learning method in class. It is my plan to overcome these challenges and attain a more empowering perspective, refine my university experience, and ensure that I successfully integrate personal and academic development effectively, in a way most beneficial to my future.
“It is not the strongest of the species survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.” – Charles Darwin
I haven't had the easiest life growing up, but I guess who has right? I grew up with an addict, a functioning addict but an addict. I also grew up with my mother and the siblings I know and love who have shaped me to be the strong young woman I am today. My personal development has come so far. I am now almost 20 years old starting to figure out who I am and what I want to do with the rest of my life. Throughout my personal life I have learned you have to get through the storms to have rainbows. Hard times pass you by and you keep moving on. I have been in behavioral health hospitals for anxiety and manic depression, I was attacked, had to deal with sexual assault not once but twice , have dealt with hard earned money being stolen by my father
The author has designed the personal learning plan around the diagnosis of his learning needs, statement of specific learning objectives, learning resources and strategies, evidence of accomplishment, how the evidence will be validated, and how the learning will be evaluated. I will concentrate on the five disciplines: Systems Thinking, Personal Mastery, Mental Models, Shared Visions, and Team Learning introduced by Peter M. Senge. This will allow me to expand my leadership abilities at my current job as well as jobs that I may hold in the future. What distinguishes leaders is the clarity and persuasiveness of their ideas, the depth of their commitment, and the extent of their openness to continually learning more. They do not "have the answer," but they seem to instill confidence in those around them that, together, "we can learn whatever we need to learn in order to achieve the results we truly desire" (Senge, 2006). Senge is explaining to us the importance of being open and to expand our knowledge. That is why every leader and employee should create a learning plan, so that they can understand as much about themselves. This allows them not only to believe in themselves, but others to believe in them as well.
Professional development is a lifelong journey. In order for one to examine his/her individual skills, qualities, needs, and opportunities, one must be able to identify future goals. Part of identifying future goals is being able to recognize weaknesses, use of time management, and different ways to invest in oneself to make the most of his/her future. Creating a professional development allows an individual to create an action plan based on his/her values, beliefs, and experiences to advance oneself in a career situation.
The process of developing any individual’s career is called career development plan. Career Development plan is often refers to manage individual’s careen in an intra-organizational or inter-organization scenario. Many people only communicate with friends and acquaintances that they see every day. This means that often many people only talk to co-workers or fellow students. Even those that attend a place of worship or participate in a sport or hobby still limit the amount of people they include in their conversations. This often limits social circles and activities that a person is active in. While volunteering, someone may meet up to as many as twenty or more people in less than an hour. Participating in a small talk with a stranger that shares the same interests and is working towards the same cause might turn out to end up being more than just a conversation. The conversation may lead to a friendship. A fun way to bond with already existing friends and family may be to bring them along on project. Friends and relatives get to partake in the activity while realizing how eye opening everything can be. “One of the best ways to make new friends and strengthen existing relationships is to commit to a shared activity together.” (Saisan, Smith, and Kemp) A volunteer can also help improve their already existing rela...
A personal financial plan is essentially important for any person and their loved ones to minimize future hardships and difficult financial situations. Short and long-term financial freedom and stability is something an individual wants to have through to the end of his or her life. Financially planning for one’s retirement years is vital so a person does not sustain major unhappiness or unnecessary pain in what is supposed to be the reward for working so hard in their younger years.
A personal development plan is an action plan that gets you from where you are right now to where you want to be in future. This can incorporate learning hard skills (like project management skills) as well as soft skills (like active listening) (Bartels, 2013).
The personal plan has enabled me to track myself on my developmental changes that are important for my achievement of set goals. Planning has also allowed me to keep track of all the steps that I will need to acquire skills and knowledge. I have also been able to see that if I continue in my current method I will not achieve all of my goals and through techniques such as SWOT analysis I have identified these areas and begun to create methods to fix this problem. The basic purpose of this essay is to point out my personal and professional skill development because these two areas are interwoven.
Goals are an important part of life. For me, they provide direction, stability, and motivation. I have always been keen to setting goals in my life, long-term and short-term. There have been times where I simply gave up on setting goals because when they would turn out different than I had expected I became a little discouraged. As I have aged a bit more, I acknowledge and understand that this is part of the goal setting/planning and action process. Lately, I have pushed some more short-term goals aside simply because of time restraints, and tiredness. However, I want to make some changes not only for myself, but also for my family. In this paper I will present two objectives and three tasks associated with meeting those objectives. I will do these objectives and tasks for two weeks. Finally, I will measure the success and the outcome from these objectives and tasks at the end.
Our ability to build strong and healthy relationship with the people around us refers to our social or relational health. For us to have a good social health, we should interact with other people and make new friends by simply keeping our phone down when someone is trying to talk to us. Also, showing respect to others and to ourselves, having a positive self-image and improving our skills in accepting and understanding other people’s culture and norms, pursuing our own interests and doing something good or kind to someone without expecting something in return will also help us to be become a sociable
When planning for our future it is important to have clear goals in mind and to understand the steps that need to be taken to achieve those goals. My long-term goal is to run my own counseling center and employee at least one other person. Some Skills I already possess that will allow me to succeed with this plan are my ability to relate to people and be consistent in following the steps needed, even though it will be a long and tedious process.
