How will this kindness project affect our community, fellow peers, and city of Stockton? This will have an impact on our fellow peers which will be making the wonderful gifts, which truly will have an abounding amount of impact on these wonderful children and the elderly which, who will be receiving these gifts. This will affect not only the elderly, but the children too. Hpw? Because the children will learn to give and not get, they will learn how to be kind and also have a change of heart a new perspective on the world. Maybe this impact is so tremendous on the kids0 it will stop bully in San Joaquin elementary school.
Our kindness project is referring to the elderly. The kindness project is about how many elderly get cold, slip, and fall, but now there is a solution! We have created socks with grips at the bottom with puffy paint. The grip helps the elderly not slip and fall. We are planning to the kindness project in January. The reason we are planning to this project is, because I want for me and my fellow peers to see how it is to give and not receive. We are going

Its not the same because we are using fuzzy socks with grips at the bottom. The fuzzy socks provide a warm feeling for the elderly and the grip provides safety. Fuzzy socks do not naturally come with grips so that is where puffy paint comes along! Why is being kind so important? Being kind is important, because in these days it seems as if negativity is running the country with the reality TV, Drama movies, and horror movies what do all these things have in common? Negativity. Negativity is a multi-billionaire company with the shows, comedians, and movies. This is affecting people thinking, which can turn people into cruel people also know as bullies. These are my reasons why negativity should stop and kindness must come in to play. My Puffy Warmers are a magnificent idea that will change the lives of
What were your goals for this project? Our goals for this project is to raise at least $100 for Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, but also to earn a good grade. We decide to choose St. Jude because Manuela personally has a one year old boy and she had commented that she saw a television commercial were a young boy was suffering from this horrible disease, but unfortunately lost his battle against cancer. We want create consciousness that with just donating 63 cents a day and $19 a month we can make a big difference, which you can help save a life of one of these children. Families who kids are receiving treatment, they never receive a bill charging them transportation and other services for example St. Jude pays for the children who
This past summer, I acquired an internship at Baldwin and Lyons, an insurance company in Indianapolis. Every Wednesday during my internship, a couple of employees and I participate in a prodigious community service project, Meals on Wheels. Throughout the three months that I worked at Baldwin and Lyons, I got acquainted with some of the individuals whom we delivered to. These inspiring individuals were so grateful and appreciative that we took time out of our day to volunteer to do such a service. One elderly woman who we delivered to would sing to us as she came to the front door “good meals, good meals, good meals.”
I chose to do my service learning project at Feed My Starving Children. I chose this service learning project because I had prior knowledge and experience by doing it with my family and church. Feed My Starving Children has been a huge impact to those who have participated in this service experience because their mission is to pack meals that go to very hungry children around the world. Being from a single parent family, it is hard for us to not be concerned about where the money for food is coming from, yet we have food on our tables for everyday meals. Therefore, I can’t imagine what it is like for those who experience hunger.
Volunteering can be gratifying and everyone should experience giving time to others without expecting anything in return. I have some history with The Excel Center in Kokomo, I am a recent graduate from there and have spent time tutoring when I can, to help other students succeed. After leaving there, I considered a future career within the walls of the school, I have even been told on numerous occasions that I am more than welcomed back after I finish my degree. Once I knew I had to volunteer in a human service field, I knew I wanted to give The Excel Center a shot right away, knowing this was a guaranteed place to be challenged and given an honest opinion of my work.
The Theory of Nursing as Caring: A Model for Transforming Practice by Boykin & Schoenhofer recognizes the importance of identifying caring between the nurse and the one nursed as an applicable knowledge that the nurse must pursue. It is best stated that caring is not exclusive to nursing, yet it is uniquely lived in nursing (Alligood 2014).
From Greek origins, storge can be defined as a natural affection between family, friends, and the community. This innate bond allows for understanding, compassion, and attachment between people. This concept of storge can be seen in Miriam Toews’ A Complicated Kindness, as the teenage protagonist, Nomi Nickel, undertakes the responsibility of restoring her family and friend’s happiness and hopefulness through small acts of kindness. Ultimately, the force of storge influences Nomi and her family to rekindle the happiness of the citizens in the Mennonite community, which suggests the transition of the citizens’ characters from static to dynamic.
I learned about the importance of giving back at the age of 11yr old and putting the very important needs of others in front of my own. Volunteering in a homeless shelter at a young age opened my eyes. Where I was placed to give food, clothes, money & hygiene products to people in need. Where would I be right now without the help of God, my mother, family& friends and the church community”. Giving a helping hand to the people in the community is Something we should always do. In the ("bible Acts 20:35 says in everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the lord Jesus himself said: it is more blessed to give than to receive"). Having a compassionate heart for the community blesses the congregation.
We, Aimee Johnson and Jessie Virnig, along with Amy Wilson and Shawn Klimek, decided to try to give the homeless a little hope. The week before Christmas we went door to door and collected food for the local homeless shelter. We decided to focus on collecting food because around the Christmas season, a lot of emphasis is put on toy drives and people sometimes overlook the fact that the homeless still need to eat. In order to broaden our research, we decided to collect food from more than one group of people. We went to an average middle class neighborhood and to a college dormitory. Before we went out into the neighborhood and dorms, we prepared a thank you letter to give to everyone explaining to them who we were, to tell them that we were collecting food for the homeles...
Individualism is rampant in our world. More and more people are concerned with what they want, when they want it and how they want it. They put blinders on and go about their work, convinced that “looking out for number one” is the only way to succeed and find happiness. If everyone were to adopt this way of thinking and living, the world would become violently competitive, gloomy, and callous. However, if we open our lives and give service to those less fortunate than ourselves, we allow our hearts to receive immeasurable happiness. There are countless members of society, who make service and ultimately self-sacrifice a part of their everyday lives. One of the greatest examples the world has of a self-sacrificing person is Mother Teresa. She said, “In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love… It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters.” Doctors Without Borders is a powerful humanitarian organization that was most recently volunteering in Haiti. Part of their mission statement reads, “…We unite direct medical care with a commitment to bearing witness and speaking out against the underlying causes of suffering. Our aid workers and staff protest violations of humanitarian law on behalf of populations who have no voice, and bring the concerns of their patients to public forums…” These are just two mainstream examples of people and organizations that live and work for others, to improve the quality of their lives.
Seeing them suffer gave me a good idea on making these bracelets for my personal project. When I was 12 years old , my grandmother said that we should make paracord bracelets for the people that's in the nursing home and hospital that is suffering from any kind of sickness and/or illness. When I sat there and thought about what should I do for my personal project , I thought about what me and my grandmother did when I was 12. These bracelets are made out of a heavy duty material, called paracord. I was inspired by my friends and family members' passion and hopeful attitude towards everything we've been through, dealing with the sickness and illnesses. I decided that creating these awareness bracelets would be the perfect idea for my Personal Project. I also decided that I want to incorporate the Area of Interaction, Human Ingenuity, to my project and decided that I could donate 100% of all the profit to various char...
The value I chose, that I cherish most in my life is the value of kindness. Kindness is, “The quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.” (Google definition) As like anything in this world, there are positives and there are negatives when it comes to kindness. Kindness is such a positive word you would think there would be no drawbacks that come along with it but, there truly is. Positives of kindness, it makes yourself feel good to be kind as well it makes others feel good, this relates to the definition because if you are friendly, generous and considerate it shows you are a genuine person full of kindness. But like I mentioned, kindness does come with drawbacks and these drawbacks are negatives. If you are kind, it is possible
It isn’t always easy to be kind to others, nor is it easy to fake being kind. Some try to be kind by offering or showering one with stuff. People all around do this, they think giving people things equals being kind and fills heart the same way a compliment would. However, it does not work like that. One does not feel the same way after getting an object as they do when they are are told they look gorgeous, or when someone holds the door for them, or even when someone tries to be inclusive. Often when someone gifts something they do so expecting something in return, they did not do it out of kindness of their heart. A kind person is giving from their hearts, whereas those who give gifts thinking that is being kind are doing so to feel
Aesop once stated, “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” In this time period, many people around the globe only focus on their life, and they do not focus on lifting others up. Kindness is one word that can change lives, even when the person that shows kindness doesn’t even know the impact they are making. One act of kindness does not appear to be very important, but every act makes an impact. The world is full of hatred, war, and terrorism, but anybody can start to make a change. Some reasons that any act of kindness has an impact include other people needing positivity, the start of a chain reaction, and the benefit of other people in the world.
Kindness is a beautiful, intelligent, and loving superhero. She is a girl who does random acts of kindness for girl 's all over the world. She does things for other girl 's, before doing anything for herself. She is the person that you can always count on, no matter what you 're going through.
Something about the inherent kindness of somebody who gives without expecting anything in return really speaks to me, and I think it 's something everybody should strive to get better at. I thought about this over the break when I was helping my aunt wrap Christmas presents. Cutting and folding the paper just right around the boxes, wasn 't only a somewhat therapeutic process, but it just made me so happy to think about how happy the recipients are going to feel when they open those boxes on Christmas Day. Being able to participate in my aunt 's efforts to put smiles on others ' faces, really had me thinking about giving, and the positive reaction people get from it. I mean, gift-wrapping isn 't the best example of this (It 's not that generous of an action), but there 've been plenty of times when I 've been shocked by people 's willingness go out of their way help me out. It just gives me such a warm feeling inside because it helps me to realize the genuine goodness in the people around
