Could you introduce yourself and describe how you became a photographer?
I am a girl born in Czechoslovakia during communism. I was raised in the Czech Republic and studied Multimedia Communication at the university. I have started photography during my studies, it took me away from the area I have studied, which was commercial copywriting and project management. I fell in love with stories in pictures and I dedicated my professional and personal life to taking pictures. It was a tough journey covered with tears and blood, but it has worth for me, because I have found the right direction of my life.
How did you get into Fashion Photography?
It took quite a long journey to get into fashion photography it was like two years of shooting. I studied at university with a lot of amazingly talented designers. They had collections to show and photo-students were sick of being forced to photograph the "commercial design", they we interested more in their personal art. I have shown my portrait work of the fashion designers and I was asked to take pictures of their designs with models. They told me everything

Fashion is the way how to create something new, crazy, divine and contemporary. Fashion is about creativity which should be running like leopard - with no regrets, no fear, with love, the elegance and beauty. Fashion is like personal expression of personality. Photography - portraiture is something timeless for me. Fashion is story in twelve pictures, but portrait should tell the story in one picture, in one moment. Fashion can get eased “out of fashion” but portrait work should last forever. I have taken pictures of people for more than 10 years, and I have feedback from my personal clients-for-life, they love pictures taken 5, 8 years ago. That somehow these photos are aging-proof, they seem to be better in question of time, they love the photos more than that day when they have received
Fashion is defined by a constant change of expressing the way we wish to look and this is affected by many things including social, cultural, commercial, religious, and political changes in society as well as the influence from fashion designers. The designers are to a degree the ones who choose what look and style they want to present and then the people decide whether or not they want to bring it in style. However, if one wants to bring a certain look into style they must consider mathematical concepts such as curves, surfaces, clothing assemblages, form, movement, shapes, and practicality if they wish their trend to be a
Fashion has been around ever since ancient times, since the time of the Romans, it survived the world wars and is yet today a business with rapid changes. Fashion started off as an art form, a way for the riches to show their social status with unique and innovative designs that only they could afford. It was a way to separate the social classes of the society. In this paper I will include the creator of haute couture, and how the following designers developed couture, as well as having leading names in today’s ready-to-wear industry. The list is long, but I chose to focus on the three most important designers of the modern fashion industry.
Donna Karan, New York based fashion designer strongly believes that technology is the future of fashion.
. Fashion is a vibrant form of visual and material culture that plays an important role in social and cultural life. Viewed as homogenizing, Fashion encourages everyone to dress in a certain way, but simultaneously about a search for individuality and expression. In the Empire of Fashion, Gilles Lipovetsky argues that fashion played a significant role in modern democracy. In France, The Old Regime was the political and social system prior to the French Revolution. Under the regime, all rights and status were divided into three estates: the Clergy, the noble and third estate, which represented the majority of people. “Members of each estate wore clothing appropriate to that estate; the force of tradition prevented the confusion of status and the usurpation of privileges of dress. Fashion is a word that can mean many different things. To some it means what models wear on the runway. To others, fashion means the clothing styles that people wear on a daily basis. A good place to start this discussion would be to define what Fast Fashion is; it is the rapid conversion of design trends into multi-channel volume.
For the love of god, why? They were heinous the first time they were popular, and certainly they have not aged any better.
Bringing trends and having amazing style is truly what makes fashion what it is. Through aesthetically pleasing magazines, the world of fashion is truly all visual and could be considered fun for the average fashion enthusiast. A man with perfectly groomed hair and clean silhouettes in one’s choice of clothing is what people initially see and agree to assume that this individual has certain personality traits that would overall be perceived in a negative light. The average person sees a man in the fashion industry and assumes that these individuals are conceited and stuck up due to the effort put into what is worn. This is often a huge misconception as men in the fashion industry pursue fashion because they have the vision and ability to be
Encountering designers is where it all began. Fashion in the world has been intriguing to young minds for years. in the fashion industry one should always not that being different with a since of creativity is far more beautiful than the normal. One much trust and have the courage and bravery to match the thoughts and ideas together and turning them into reality. One must never close their eyes, because in a blink of an eye an opportunity can shoot by and one may never be able to reveal what that opportunity came to be.
A tall, glamorous runway model is every girl’s dream. Long beautiful legs, lean body, and beautiful shiny hair is what an average young woman views as an ideal image for a female. If you don’t resemble the images of those stunning Victoria Secret models and Fashion Week models, you suddenly become ashamed of your own body. It is a great life to have with the high pay, fame, drinking champagne on a yacht with famous celebrities and even being on the Vogue cover page. Fashion Modeling Industry has been the most influential source in our young women’s lives. Young girls and young women are seen eating as little as they can, even starving themselves at times to resemble those models. What they don’t realize is that they are contributing to the 2.7 percentage of 13- 18 year olds suffering from anorexia and bulimia. Susan Albers, a psychologist at the Cleveland Clinic said exposure to thin models is a great trigger in maintaining an eating disorder. When watching America’s Next Top Model or flipping through a Fashion magazine, these young women don’t apprehend that those models are either naturally slim or they are suffering from an eating disorder themselves, in other words, hostages in the dark hell hid behind those runway curtains. The growing number of young anorexia and bulimia patients, and the number of websites such as thinspiration, where girls put up pictures of their thin bodies clearly suggest that the fashion modeling industry do not at all bear any responsibility in providing healthy, realistic physical role models for young women.
Every culture and religion has its own style of fashion that sets them apart. Fashion plays a remarkable role in, not only culture and religion, but also identifying personalities, beliefs and thoughts. A leading country that is well-known for its fashion design would be France. “The French were the first to make an industry out of fashion since the 17th century.” There are many French designers from the fashion leading capital, Paris. Those designers would be Chanel, Pierre Cardin, Céline, Chloe, Dior, Givenchy, Jean Paul Gaultier, Hermès, Lanvin, Marcel Rochas, Vuitton and Yves Saint Laurent.
A Fashion photograph is not just there for you to look at and like or dislike and pass it through your memory. But it’s there to give you a storyline, a desire, an illusion and a fantasy. The image makes you want to buy what is being advertised to you.
Fashion and film are art forms that have coexisted for decades, and although they are different, they also possess similar qualities. Pamela Church Gibson wrote in her book Film and Celebrity Culture that “film had a greater influence on fashion than any other form of visual culture” (Gibson 55). Fashion is an important part of film as it aids directors and writers in bringing characters and their personalities to life. Simultaneously, fashion has also benefited from films, as films are a popular source of inspiration for designers, who can be inspired by anything from storylines to characters. In an article, titled Film and Fashion: Just Friends, for the New York Times, Ruth La Ferla wrote that “wittingly or not, those viewers take in colors, subtle tactile impressions or an overall atmosphere that can linger in the mind for years, part of a vast store of images that may surface at any time” (La Ferla).
Fashion is really an art, career, passion and lifestyle. Fashion is something that is going to be around for a long time and most don’t realize how much work goes into the fashion industry. The art part of fashion is one of the biggest parts of fashion because you have to know what goes on with people and what new is coming out. It is a career because people have to design and figure out new ideas that people would be interested in and would wear. People have to have a passion for fashion in the industry or you would not be able to deal with the day to day schedule of a designer. It is a lifestyle, a persons life to design and create artwork that would possibly be around for generations. As you can see fashion is an important part in the world, we would not be where we are today without fashion.
However, I don't believe that fashion is the most honest representation of an individual. What I believe to being a more genuine form of expression is style for how it speaks a greater truth about you and the relationship to yourself. But how to differentiate between fashion and style, when both have a similar correlation? Quoting Edna Woolman Chase, who was the editor in chief of the Vogue magazine, “Fashion can be bought, style one most possesses”. The major difference is that fashion fluctuates based on the mood of people, but the style changes for the reasons of personal issues and spirit. When selecting my wardrobe, I'm not choosing to be prevalent at a given time, but to define my personal identity and priorities. By wearing fashionable clothes, you're following what according to the mass majority deems popular. But when wearing stylish clothing, you dress accordingly to what best reflects your personality and what makes you
