UNDERSTANDING
THE
PRIORITY OF FAITH
Heb. 11:6 tells us…”Without faith, it is impossible to please Him.” Who is Him? GOD. Here we see the emphasis our Father puts on faith; although few seem to understand this. I believe He is showing us what our priority with faith should be. Our priority with faith should be to please Him.
Most of us, because we haven’t totally put “self” on the cross with Jesus, have another priority - me. Our faith is usually centered around MY need, MY health, MY blessing, MY family, MY relationships,
MY job, etc. These areas are the results of our faith, but I believe a revelation knowledge, understanding of Heb. 11:6 will clearly define what our priority of faith should be. Our priority of faith should be to please Him.
An example of pleasing faith is found in Matt. 8:5-10 (NKJV), “Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a

We either look them up on a computer program or we look in our Strong’s Concordance, or whichever one we use. Many years ago, after I received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, I was looking at a verse on faith one day. I decided to look up the Greek definition. I was asking God at the time to open my eyes of understanding about faith. The verse I was meditating on was Heb. 10:38, “The just shall live by faith.” The word LIVE jumped out at me that day. (That’s another way of speaking of enlightenment.)
As I looked up the word “faith,” I found the Greek word “pistis.” I began to read the definitions: persuasion; assurance; belief; conviction of the truthfulness of God, etc. Once again, the eyes of my understanding were being enlightened. Among those definitions, one stood out like a neon light. That definition is: a conviction of the truthfulness of God. Time will not allow me to tell you all that has happened since that day. I will, however, tell you that simple definition of faith changed my life.

In Paul Tillich’s 1957 work Dynamics of Faith, he mentions that there are six major components of faith. These six components of faith describe the Franciscan perspective of “faith”. According to Tillich, the first component of faith is “the state of being ultimately concerned”. The second component of faith is that it is supposed to be at the center of all of our personal lives and everything that we do throughout our own individual lives. The third component of faith is that we should have an awareness for “infinite” things such as God himself. The fourth component of faith is that we need to understand that faith can act as fear, fascination, or both of these qualities at the same time. The fifth component of faith is that doubt is a major product that will always exist with faith. The last component of faith is that we need a community in order to have a “language of faith”.
My life is governed by the beliefs of the Christian faith. The teaching of Christianity is the driving force that gives me confidence, hope and self-acceptance through God’s unconditional love. God’s love enables me in faith
In conclusion, does what we believe matter or is how we act more important? I feel that you cannot separate what we believe from how we act because whatever you truly believe will ultimately determine how you act, if we truly believe that Jesus paid our debt in full, than our good works will not come from compulsion rather from gratitude. Whereas if you think that you are saved by works, your works will result from compulsion.

the power of faith are developed and can be used to show the problems in today’s culture.
Above all, faith is the crux of Bultmann’s of the thesis and followers of Christianity. Hence, the core of devotion for all Christians is Jesus suffers death by crucifixion in order to redeem mankind. More importantly, he conquers death after God resurrects him on the third day. Specifically, it is the spirit which is redeemed not so much the physical body. Granted, because of the fall of Adam all suffer physical death; man’s spirit is preserved thru faith in Jesus.

Faith is something a person must have inside them to be able to succeed. Success and failure are two completely different things, but faith is what separates the two. In the short story “A Fable with Slips of White Paper Spilling from the Pockets” by Kevin Brockmeier, the author illustrates the struggles a man must overcome in society and the obstacles he must overcome when his faith is tested to the limit. In the fable, the author uses symbols of faith, magical elements, and realistic struggles to divulge the morals and struggles of life.
...hat share my faith and together worship Jesus. I believe that by being in fellowship with other believers I will have a strong opportunity to pursue and fulfill God’s purpose in my life, whether it is a daily or lifetime calling.
The role of faith has been debated among many theologians, scientists, and philosophers. It has been greatly discussed and depicted throughout history as whether faith is logical when it comes to religion or whether faith is completely absurd. In this essay, I will focus on the role of faith through the lenses of Christian philosophers Sorean Kierkegaard and Paul Tillich. Faith plays an important role in Kierkegaard and Tillich theology; I will critically examine their depiction of faith and compare and contrast their passages. Kiergarrd view of faith is that it is completely absurd where as Ti
In many aspects of our lives, the use of faith as a basis for knowledge can be found. Whether it is faith in the advice of your teacher, faith in a God or faith in a scientific theory, it is present. But what is faith? A definition of faith in a theory of knowledge context is the confident belief or trust in a knowledge claim by a knower, without the knower having conclusive evidence. This is because if a knowledge claim is backed up by evidence, then we would use reason rather than faith as a basis for knowledge . If we define knowledge as ‘justified true belief’, it can be seen that faith, being without justification, can never fulfill this definition, and so cannot be used as a reliable basis for knowledge. However, the question arises, what if a certain knowledge claim lies outside of the realm of reason? What if a knowledge claim cannot be justified by empirical evidence and reasoning alone, such as a religious knowledge claim? It is then that faith allows the knower to decide what is knowledge and what is not, when something cannot be definitively proved through the use of evidence. When assessing faith as a basis for knowledge in the natural sciences, the fact arises that without faith in the research done before us, it is impossible to develop further knowledge on top of it. Yet at the same time, if we have unwavering faith in existing theories, they would never be challenged, and so our progress of knowledge in the natural sciences would come to a standstill. Although I intend to approach this essay in a balanced manner, this essay may be subject to a small degree of bias, due to my own non-religious viewpoint.
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2, KJV)
...h we should follow and recognize our purpose of life: to serve God. Christ gave us spiritual freedom through His death and Resurrection in hope that we use this freedom to willingly choose to follow Christ.
... Christ is our savior. It is by sin that we face difficulties in being faithful Christians but only through Christ that we grow spiritually. Also we can see the importance of having faith in the field of work and the power of prayers that can assist you in your life as a messenger of God and how you develop yourself to know and be ready for the second life that is eternal life. Anfenson-Vance (1988) states that there is nothing in this world that we can do alone but with God we can do anything. Therefore it is important to converse with God in prayer and by faith to successfully overcome our burdens. So from there we can learn how important to have faith in us as young people. Prayer is one of the main concepts of faith and without prayer you cannot converse with God and share with him the work you did and the stress you face in your life as a servant of God.
Justification by faith is of great importance, it is the foundation of our whole position and standing with God. Martin Luther wrote, “ When the article of justification has fallen, everything has fallen.” John Calvin called it “ the main hinge on which religion turns.” Thomas Watson said, “Justification is the very hinge and pillar of Christianity.” The issue of Justification was the primary dispute between the reformers and the Roman Catholic Church, and the problem was, and still is, between salvation by faith alone and salvation based on good works. So, why is justification so important to us? Because Justification by faith is the answer to the problem, that has followed human beings ever since the fall of Adam. How can a man be right with God his maker? How can a man stand in the presence of God? This is what Paul wrote in the letter of Romans 5:1 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” The act of Justification enables us to be right with our God.
