Philosopher John Dewey’s (Kotler, 2000) said a problem well defined is half solved”. Company’s management must work at formulating the problem neither too broadly nor too narrowly. Typical marketing purposes/objectives are increasing revenues and profits, discovering what consumers want, and finding out why a product is not selling well etc.
An explicit definition of the research problem is probably the most important research task.
It is important to note that certain research problems may not be fully defined or formulated because the researcher lacks the requisite information to guide him in problem formulation. To remedy such a problem the researcher can embark on an exploratory research. The goal of the exploratory research is to gather preliminary data to shed light on the real nature of the problem and to suggest possible solutions or new ideas.
Step 2: Developing the Research
Exploratory theories are a source of grounded theory when a researcher is trying to break into a new field. As explained in our textbook, exploratory studies tend to have three purposes. They are to satisfy the researchers curiosity for better understanding, to test a new study and to develop methods to be used in future studies. At first, Doctor Money explained to the parents to nurture David as a girl.
The objectives should be specific and precise on what the marketer is hoping to achieve. Specified targets help in distributing and maximizing resources to where they will be expected to raise the most profits. The objective will also help in achieving productivity standards that aim at ensuring that the investments are distributed equally. At Whole Foods, the objectives that the leader will have to come up with will have to identify the specific goals that the company will benefit from after implementation. For example, buying out a competitor with intentions of increasing their market
Recently I watched a T.V. show called The Profit and recognized some similarities from the current Marketing chapter discussed in class. The current episode was about a company called Bentley’s Corner Barkery, which is committed in providing all-natural pet food and treats for their customers. The episode highlighted how Bentley’s Corner Barkery was struggling and not reaching all of their potential customer base because of its marketing structure among other poor managing and financial elements. Before Marcus Lemonis (he is the investor) the company marketing strategy was the quality of product will attract customers. Marcus Lemonis immediately ask for the company’s mission statement and help the owners identify their target customers by segmentation.

The main goal/objective of creating the Marketing Plan for Frito Lay is the strategy that employees of the company’s marketing departments could use as a guide to actions for the development and creation of the product market. Moreover, the investors would ensure sufficient capacity and market prospects.
The marketing mix, which consists of price, product, place and promotion are essential tools that play a vital role in determining the fate of a business. The right marketing mix could mean profit and an unbalanced marketing mix could be the reason behind a business’s downfall. There may be many others who are still suffering from aftermath of that disaster. Before launching a new product on the global market it is every company’s responsibility to do a research. A clean research objective will help ensure that the company has the right information in order to launch its product, in the right place. The case study provides us with the product and place.
The managers must set organizational goals aligned with the company mission. This will provide a strategy for achieving those goals. For example, planning can be seen at every level such as creating goals for sales as well as for the customer experience (Higgins, 1994).
Now within the rest of this paper you will be finding a few different things getting discussed. Staring it off we will be discussing the articles that we have found to make our arguments and hypotheses. After wrapping up the literature reviews we will be discussing the hypotheses thus continuing onto our variables and indicators. Once we discuss our hypotheses we will be moving onto the research design. The research design will have our general issues, sampling, and methods.

Briefly it is a systematic design, collection, analysis, and reporting of data and findings relevant to a specific marketing situation facing the company, allows management to make the changes necessary for better results through adopting a proactive approach. Therefore, if a company wants to know what type of products or services would be profitable it should make a market research. Furthermore, a comprehensive research will enable the company to know about the product imperfections (if there are) and to know if it has been able to satisfy customers’ needs. It attempts to provide accurate information that reflects a true state of affairs. Due to market research the company can formulate a viable marketing plan and estimate the success of its existing plan. There are two main sources of marketing research information:
The introduction and literature review sections will introduce the problem and provide general information. The methods and results will provide specific, detailed information about this research project and the discussion/conclusion will discuss the findings in a larger context. The following section will describe each of these parts in more detail. Additional information can be found in the Resources section of this module and in the Suggested Readings.
According to this, it is obvious that the objective of marketing is to satisfy demand of customers by those ‘individual and organizational activities’ like promotion or pricing of goods, which are all just means to achieve that. Additionally, organizations could stand out from their competitors once they meet the needs of customers better than others. Thus, it can be said that the successful marketing is to provide competitive advantages for organizations by doing better in satisfying customers’ desires through products and other marketing activities.
Exploratory Research Generally conducted in order to identify the true nature of a problem, Exploratory Research is intended to explore the different elements present in the problem in order to properly pinpoint a source of the anomaly, but is less concerned with actually solving the problem. Most commonly seen as the open-ended questions in surveys, this category of research is used in the formative stages of creating a hypothesis, and is used in a variety of different methods such as trial and pilot studies, interviews, case studies and focus groups. Descriptive Research Unlike Exploratory Research, which tends to be more open-ended, Descriptive Research generally has a more quantitative nature to it, and is this much more conclusive in the data it represents. Used most commonly in the bulk of online surveys, Descriptive Research is most often carefully planned, and is structured to allow collected information to be statistically relevant to a certain population. Put in simpler terms, Descriptive Research is used to define the opinions and attitudes a certain group of people have on a certain subject.
The most significant feature of an investigative study is the precision and simplicity of the investigative problem. For a brief assertion, it definitely has a great deal of influence on the study. The statement of the problem is the central position of the study. The problem statement should affirm what will be studied, whether the study will be completed by means of experimental or non-experimental analysis, and what the reason and function of the results will bring. As an element of the opening, profound problem declarations satisfies the query of why the study should to be performed. The reason of this essay is to discuss the features of an investigative problem; in addition, the essay will center on what constitutes a researchable problem; the components of a well formed Statement of Research Problem; and, what constitutes a reasonable theoretical framework for the need of a study.
After establishing the research problem and what results are wanted, it will define how it will find the answers. Research is a form of collection and interpretation of information that will form the basis of finding answers to questions. The research uses theories and methods that h...
