We have heard these words so frequently that we automatically confine the entire concept of Entrepreneurship into these keywords. However, Entrepreneurship is not solely about them. Entrepreneurship is a broad concept and different people—experts, lecturers, entrepreneurs themselves—may come up with their own definition.

Truthfully, being an entrepreneur has never been my primary goal after graduating from university. My family has no background in opening and managing businesses. In fact, I am more interested in being a manager in a company. Despite that, I think there is still a lot of benefits I can obtain through the materials thought in this class. I think, what I will learn in this class is not only beneficial for those who aim to be entrepreneurs. I believe that it would also be beneficial for me even when I become a manager. Most of these days, managers are also demanded to be “entrepreneurs inside” (Schlesinger & Kiefer, 2014). In my opinion, managers in companies also need to have entrepreneurial behaviors, such as the way of thinking, the ability to strategize, the ability to innovate and come up with new ideas, how to approach problems, how to manages one’s own resources to achieve a certain goal. Also, whether in their job or everyday life, people are always faced with decisions to make, opportunities to find and risks to face. As I have mentioned before, learning entrepreneurship can teach a person to spot opportunities, face risks, minimize loss, etc. Thus, I think learning entrepreneurship can also help me in my future job and everyday life. Last but not least, learning entrepreneurship is also beneficial as it serves me knowledge for I will be facing a lot of people, including entrepreneurs, if I do work in a company. What is Entrepreneur? According to the Business Dictionary (2014), entrepreneur is someone who exercises initiative, a risk-taker who is willing to pursue a project or mission that others might view as a threat or deem a failure. An entrepreneur is usually the decision maker, sole proprietor, partner, or someone who owns a large portion of the organization’s shares. Entrepreneurs usually determine how much risk is appropriate for certain ventures and control how much of a service will be produced. (Business Dictionary, 2014) It appears that, entrepreneurs are people who are creative, innovative, independent, optimistic, educated, spontaneous, and with high self-esteems willing to take financial risks, as well as, monitoring and controlling the business activities. Entrepreneurs, through their innovative ideas and entrepreneurial opportunities tend to play a vital role in the economy. Therefore, in this paper, one will elaborate furthermore on entrepreneurs. One will explain the importance of feasibility study and business plan, where entrepreneurs can go for funding, and what type of short and long term planning would be required for success. In addition, an example of a company that started with a humble beginning and bloomed successfully due to proper planning will be provided.
There has been a large amount of attention paid to the subject of entrepreneurship in the last few years; mainly because most people have chosen to go from working for somebody else, to be their own bosses and work for their dreams. Nevertheless, many still wonder what is entrepreneurship and what is that sets entrepreneurs apart from other regular business owners.
