According to Tolba (2016, p.13) “The problems that overwhelm us today are precisely those we failed to solve decades ago”. Healthy environment always provide us with a beautiful sight to pass through, fresh air to breathe in and an amazing features to snap with. Conservation of environment contributes to wellbeing of the people. When the beautiful and wonderful things are conserved many people around the globe dreams to visit our beautiful country and when they chase their dreams to come true it contributes to huge National Income. I will use my degree environmental science in conservation of natural environment and resources. As we have ideas related to root causes of environmental problems, their solution and conservation history. We have also studied about the environmental Ethics which evaluates relationships, rules, principles or codes that require certain conduct for healthy environment. We being environmental students also cover a lot about environment ecosystem and importance of balance in ecosystem. Preservation and conservation of these rich environments can lead to development of the country as the natural resources conserved. When income of the country from natural resource increases, the living standard of the people also increases which result in development of the
Environmental Studies is the academic field, which systematically studies human interaction with the environment in which we live in. It is a broad field of study that includes the natural environment, built environment, and the sets of relationships between them. Environmental studies takes into account many different factors that help provide an enjoyable, fruitful way of life, such as national policies, politics, laws, economics, sociology and other social aspects, planning, pollution control, natural resources, and the interactions of human beings and nature.
Bhutan is a kingdom of the Himalayas, located between the northeast of India and China. The population of Bhutan is approximately 673,000 inhabitants. In the late 1980s, the Royal Government of Bhutan was concerned about the sharp increase in the population of Lhotshampa in southern Bhutan. 5,000 Bhutanese will be resettled in Canada after having lived in camps in southeastern Nepal since the early 1990s. The majority of refugees in Nepal have been displaced for more than 15 years, with no possibility of resuming their lives. Canada is committed to finding solutions for the refugees so the refugees are settled in more than 21 communities. Australia, Denmark, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway,
A Population in an ecological perspective refers to a group of organism that are of the same species interacting with one another and their environment. For these organisms to be classified as the same species, they would need to be able to interbreed with one another. A population can consist of animal, plants, bacteria, or any other organism that are able to reproduce and live together. Metapopulation is defined as a set of local populations occupying a range of habitat patches and linked by the movement of individuals through migration. There are small “island” patches that are within dispersal distance of a larger “mainland patch.” When organism migrates to the poorer and smaller “island” patches, this explains source-sink dynamics. Without
Environmental pollution has always remained a serious problem in society today. Our planet is often being polluted by many toxins that are not only deadly to us, but our wildlife too. Environmental pollution leads to air pollution, environmental crisis, and global warming. Now there are many different ways that can help these topics be preventable. People need to understand what environmental sustainability truly is. Learning environmental sustainability will give people the tools and knowledge to help sustain our planet before it is too late. Planet earth is our home and people need to understand the damage being done to it. Understanding these important key factors will lead our planet to become healthier and a better place for life to live.
Economic growth and social development are complementary and they have a close but complex relationship. With the economic growth, it is clear that there are many environmental concerns in today’s society. Air, water, and land pollution have worsened; the environment of wild animals and plants has been seriously damaged; many species are threatened with extinction, deforestation and over-exploitation of mineral resources.
The degradation of ecosystems and loss of biodiversity is increasing at an alarming rate every year. Humans are certainly not the only reason for this, but they are the main contributors. The well-being of ecosystems affects our everyday lives - consumption and consumerism depend on natural resources. Everything humans use is derived from them, in seemingly indirect and direct ways. Yet despite the fact that humans are destroying the environment, many continue to and neglect to take important measures to protect it.
The environment today is not in a good condition, Climate change is evident, and oceans are getting polluted. Rainforrest's are decreasing in size due to deforestation and illegal logging. Animals are getting extinct due to the destruction of their habitats. Natural resources are being consumed at very large amounts, and get wasted. There are different ways these problems can be addressed, one option is environmental management. Environmental management focuses on conservation of natural resources, protection of habitats, and impact of humans on the environment. Conservation of natural resources is the smart use of the world's resources by humans, through this waste production is limited, and there will be less garbage in the world. By conserving
After going through the details on this topic I started realizing the importance of biodiversity and ecosystem. It would not be wrong to say that it has also bought upon a sense of responsibility and maturity in me towards the sensitive issues surrounding us which generally are ignored or are not given much importance by the students of my age group. I do now believe that even our small contribution can make a difference in preserving this great natural gift of God.
GNH is a broader concept and more profound in its implication than conveyed by the current set of policy-bundle priorities as represented by the metaphor of pillars in Bhutan. Within Bhutan, the four priority areas of GNH are perceived as a normatively defined means towards promoting GNH, and that is to create the conditions that would enable every citizen to pursue happiness with a reasonable chance of success. We do appreciate that these may not necessarily find universal application.
First of all, build the construction of the legal system of sustainable development. Legislation related to sustainable development is sustainable development strategy that is specific, legalization of ways, implementation of legislation related to sustainable development is an important guarantee for the sustainable development strategy into implementation. Therefore, the establishment of sustainable development is an important aspect of the legal system, capacity-building for sustainable development. Sustainable development requires through the establishment and implementation of the legal system to achieve rational use of natural resources, so that the ecological destruction and environmental pollution under control and ensure the sustainable development of economy, society and ecology. Secondly, build the construction of the education system for the sustainable development. Sustainable development requires people to have a high degree of knowledge, sensible and long-term impact of activities on the natural and social consequences, and requires people to have high ethical standards, understanding of their lofty responsibilities towards future generations, consciously for the long-term interests of human society while sacrificing some immediate and local interests. This requires capacity building for sustainable development in developing education in line with the spirit of
NEED AND PURPOSE FOR CONSERVATION OF BIODIVERSITY Biodiversity conservation is about saving life on Earth in all its forms and keeping natural ecosystems functioning and healthy. Biodiversity is being depleted by the loss of habitat, fragmentation of habitat, over exploitation of resources, human sponsored ecosystems, climatic changes, pollution, invasive exotic species, diseases, shifting cultivation, poaching of wildlife etc. Since the human beings are enjoying all the benefits from biodiversity, they should take proper care for the preservation of biodiversity in all its forms and should prevent the degradation as well as the destruction of the habitats, thereby maintaining the biodiversity at its optimum level which will ultimately conserve the biodiversity for the future generation. The United Nations designated 2011-2020 as the United Nations Decade on Biodiversity. In biodiversity, each species, no matter how big or small, has an important role to play in ecosystems.
NEED AND PURPOSE FOR CONSERVATION OF BIODIVERSITY: Biodiversity, a contraction of “biological diversity,” generally refers to the variety and variability of life on Earth. The very existence of human species and sustainable development depend on biodiversity conservation, therefore the need for conservation of biodiversity is basically for this reason that all living creatures need other creatures and plants in one way or the other. At least 40 per cent of the world’s economy and 80 per cent of the needs of the poor are mainly derived from biological resources. Biodiversity is necessary for our existence as well as valuable in its own right as it provides the fundamental building blocks for the many goods and services which are essential
Small sized economy: Bhutan is a country with small economy where Bhutan is on 105 in global competition index out of 141. So to compete with rest of the world, Bhutan still needs more improvement in many aspects.
Degradation of climate is increasing every year due to which the occurrence of natural calamities is growing. We need to save our nature, or else nature will be disappearing and the natural resources will get depleted. There will be no non-renewable resources left.
