Identify an assignment that had a positive impact on me. I could sit here and write something creative about what had a positive impact but to be completely honest, I can not identify an assignment that impacted me in any sort of positive way. The chapters I have read and the assignments I have written were done so because they were required to be completed. How can the lessons I have learned affect my life or my career? The only affect this class and the lessons will have on me and my life, is once I have completed this class I can move onto the next one until I have finished the number of hours needed to get my degree. Robert Leamnson’s essay “Learning (Your First Job)” effectively proposes the importance of learning by suggesting ways of making notes, studying, and doing assignments. Leamnson cannot stress it enough, how learning will not be accomplished unless you want to do it. If you do not have the want of learning then there is no point in doing it. High school education is so much different than your post-secondary education. The material that is being learned in the college classes is materials that will be useful for your later career. The biggest lesson I learn during this class is time management. I have a 9 month old baby and he allows wants my attention. I had to rely on a family member to take care of him while I get a few hours to read the textbook and do the writing assignments. I had to truly focus on my work and not go to social sites because I barely had time to do so.
As I planed to take this class, I thought this course would be like all other general education courses. I believed that it would be of little use to me. However, after attending the first class, my view has changed completely. I applied each and every theory to my life.

Despite many obstacles in my life, my experience performing community service stands out as the most memorable. I was sixteen at the time, and just beginning my first job at a fast food restaurant. I had to learn how to balance between community service in the morning and my employment at the local Wendy’s. It was very stressful and influential at the same time.

I graduated with a class of ninny-nine kids and now I have a Math lecture with four-hundred kids. This class didn’t only help me with my leadership skills but it helped me learn and really help my final transition of being apart of such a huge community. For sure,for sure. I don’t know that I could ever see the Bible the same after this course! But it does indeed open me up to new approaches in my own analysis and study, as well as how I talk about the Bible moving forward. Best of all, My Faith has Survived!, and was even a bit enhanced.
1. The assignment I felt was most useful was the reflective story telling activity. This was my favorite because it gave me the opportunity to step into other student’s shoes, and experience something either similar or different as far as facing sterotypes. It was a great experience because we don’t realize no matter what race you are we all face adversity.
Taking this class this semester has really changed the way that I have viewed myself when it has come to work and the different companies that I have worked before. I have taken a psychology class before but I have never taken one that relates to management and organizations. This class has really helped me answer different questions such as why I was unhappy at some jobs, enjoyed some managers over others, and what motivated me to work hard at jobs. It’s good to learn that there are different terms and definitions for different feeling and things I experienced at jobs to know that their other people experiencing these things also. I will be going into a management position after I graduate, and this class helped me to learn many different ways to go about managing and things to avoid to keep a positive working environment.
The most valuable lessons in life often come unexpected and in situations that cannot be reenacted. Gaining knowledge about the world and about oneself comes from living life through successes and failures. These events cannot be duplicated, which is why experience serves as so influential in regards to a person’s development. Intelligence can be acquired from books, studies and school, but if a person solely relies on this, they will feel a void in their life. Successful people are well rounded and this is why many colleges and schools focus on teaching lessons through actual experiences, instead of books and lectures. Life is about living and people should realize this. The world has many lessons to teach individuals about themselves and their surroundings, and experiences are at the root of it all.
There was a significant amount of knowledge given in this course, involving concepts that in our teaching career will be extremely important. From this course I have gained a significant amount of learning experiences. I had the pleasure learning about how the educational system has come to be what it is today and who were the important people in the creation of the public education, like Horace Mann. Watching the videos and reading the chapters required has opened my eyes more of how a teacher should respond to different situations involving a student, For example when we read the chapter on the laws that revolve around the educators and the students. I took this class because it aligns with other studies I have done. I have completed life coaching certificates and other psychology and mental classes. My expectations for this class are to learn what it means to educate and be educated. In life and business, I can see where understanding individual and/or group motivations can help show the bigger picture and give ideas on how to proceed.
My experience through this history class has been enjoyable. It 's been a review in some ways of things I have learned. I have also learned new things throughout. I have learned new things involving the American history I never thought to pay attention. History is an essential part of the past as it has taught me where religion played role, new topics and uses throughout society. I have reviewed a lot of things that I seem to have forgotten over the years. I heard about in prior years of schooling the history of the United States.
