William Shakespeare was a playwright that introduced many new words to the English language and wrote hundreds of songs, plays, books, and poems of which are still very popular and commonly used within theatre and actively today, Despite not being recognised for what he had created and how Shakespeare influenced modern day society. Having them made into films also increase the amount of ‘stage’ you can work with and instead of just having the three walls of a theatre stage you have the whole world to look at and you can really see into a characters thoughts and mind. Take the film version of Othello, it shows the viewer many different aspects of the play that you can’t show on stage such as Iago’s plan to manipulate Othello is shown in a more detailed way and you really see how he does it. It is also good that a vast majority of Shakespeare’s plays are now available on DVD so you can watch the plays in your living room, but you could see this as a bad this because it means that the actual performances of the plays may not get as much interest as they should.

CONCLUSION
Is Shakespeare still relevant in today’s society and my answer is yes. It can be difficult to understand if you do not learn about it but it is poetry and once you understand, it because glorious. He is one of the most famous playwrights in existence because of his creativity with words and poetry. He changed the language we use and created stories which are still being used or adapted to today.
