Shakespeare is a poet, playwright, and actor who is known for his tragedies and various themes. He uses everyday life and turns it into plays or poems. Only at eleven years old he created his first play based on the visit from Queen Elizabeth at the Kenilworth Castle where Shakespeare attended the grammar school. The play was called Henry VI and it is a story about Prince Hal, the future King Henry V of England, who helps people rob his father’s treasure (source). Shakespeare also writes his plays based on the theme imbalance of nature. The theme, imbalance of nature, occurs in the play Macbeth and is a common theme in many of Shakespeare's other plays.

he will soon become king of Scotland: “All hail, Macbeth, thou shalt be king hereafter!” (1.3.52), Macbeth and his wife are anxious and want to rule over Scotland immediately. Lady Macbeth, Macbeth’s wife, begins to think up a plan to become rulers faster. She then decides that Macbeth should kill King Duncan, but she fears Macbeth is too good and could not commit a devious crime: “Yet do I fear nature” (1.5.14). After the king was killed, Macbeth became the king of Scotland., hHe then realizes the evil deed he has done and that there is nothing he could do to rectify it: “Will all great Neptune's ocean wash this blood / Clean from my hand? No, this my hand will rather / the multitudinous seas incarnadine, / Making the green one red" (2.2, 59-62). In Victoria’s time people believed that the king was in control of nature. If he were a good king then the crops would flourish but, if he was a bad king then there will be a terrible drought, and if he was killed it would throw the balance of nature off. In the play, after King Duncan was killed nature began to become unnatural. Shakespeare used an owl, a creature of both nature and knowledge, to represent the unlawful crime and violation of nature that Macbeth commits in his effort usurp the rightful king. Lady Macbeth heard the owl “shrieked” (2.2.3) and “scream” (2.2.5) the same as King Duncan did as he was being killed. In nature, an owl should prey on mice but instead, it hunted its predator, a hawk. ¨A falcon, towering in her pride of place, Was by a mousing owl hawk´d at and kill´d¨ (2.4.14-15). Shakespeare also uses King Duncan’s horses as part of the theme of imbalance of nature. The horses were once tamed but they went wild and then they began to eat each other, “ broke their stalls, flung out, contending ‘gainst obedience, War with mankind/ ‘Tis said they eat each other” (2.4.16-21). Besides the unnatural tragedies in Macbeth, Shakespeare used other plays to explain the role of imbalance in nature. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is another play written by Shakespeare that uses the theme imbalance of nature.
It is about the marriage of the Duke of Athens, Theseus, and Hippolyta. The theme imbalance of nature occurs in the play when the queen of the fairies, Titania, reveals that it is not the magical realm but it is the natural world that is disturbed by her quarrels with Oberon. The natural and magical world’s relationship is simple. If the weather is bad, hardworking farmers fields are ruined, and the four seasons are mixed up. All this points to the fact that things must go right in the magical world if there is going to be balance in the natural …show more content…
world. The theme, imbalance of nature also play a huge role in Shakespeare’s play Antigone, and is the central theme of the play. In the play, Creon condemns Antigone to death for defying his order not to bury Polyneices, and the Chorus laments the fate that never leaves the house of Oedipus: “Once a house is shaken of Heaven, disaster/ Never leaves it, from generation to generation” (3.583-584). Shakespeare compare this event to a fatal storm: “roaring wind from Thrace” (3.589). Later on in the play Creon’s son, Haemon, gives his father advice on how to be a wise king, hoping he’ll change his mind about killing his fiancee, Antigone. He tells him that a wise man is not the one who changes his mine but the one who can listen to others and can admit that they are wrong. Haemon compares the situation to “trees that grow beside a torrent” (line 712), and trees that bend keep their branches, meaning that if Creon learn how to forgive Antigone, his branches will not break and he gets to keep his family, but if he “resist they are torn out, root and branch” (714). The tree metaphor connects with the storm metaphor. Creon has created a crisis, and Antigone stepping in, with her family curse, is raising a storm in Thebes. Creon will only make it worse by becoming rigid. Haemon points out he needs to bend in order to make it through this storm. Instead, Creon is too stubborn, and so the second example of the trees that break uncannily predicts what happens to Creon’s family line, which is indeed “torn out, root and branch.” Haemon explains that wisdom is a subtle gift of the gods. Creon is too crude, however, and without the spiritual perspective that can make him see how he disrupts the traditions of the city with his rigid law. Imbalance of nature can be applied to multiple genres. Imbalance of nature occurs in many genres.
A genre is specific type of music, films, or writing. In music, genre refers to musical style such as jazz, salsa or rock. In film or literature, the genre is determined by the subject, setting or plot of the story. Many genres, such as "mystery" or "fantasy," overlap in film and literature, while others, such as "romantic comedy" in film or "historical fiction" in books, are specific to one or the
other. Imbalance of nature is one of the most common themes in Shakespeare’s plays and poems. Everything in nature plays a role in reality, signifying a tragic death or love. The deed that Macbeth and his wife committed by killing the king set everything off course. Things in nature began to become unjust and off track. The weather and animals began to act out of character and there was a terrible drought.
The genre of the film is how we know what kind of film it is. Genre is a French word which literally means type; it shows what category a film comes under. There are certain factors in a genre which will identify it. Things like settings, characters and themes can all be similar in one specific genre.

Shakespeare evidently writes in this time period to describe the link between leaders and their supreme or ultimate power. The play was first performed in the year 1606, at the world famous Globe Theatre, and is considered one of the most profound and compelling tragedies ever told. Throughout the play Macbeth is seen confronting his own moral ambiguity to the heinous acts he must perform to get the position he most desires. “My thought, whose murder yet is but fantastical, [s]hakes so my single state of man” (Shakespeare 1.3.152-53). This uncertainty, present in the scenes of Duncan’s murder, the feast, and the witch’s final predictions each unfold the ambiguity needed to understand the basis of the work as a whole.

Macbeth is a play written by Shakespeare that is set in eleventh century Scotland. In the play, the witches give Macbeth numerous prophecies that are malicious designs to provoke Macbeth towards his demise. This is done through giving Macbeth thoughts of treason against the king, telling him to secure the kingdom from Banquo and his descendants, and giving him a false sense of invincibility against his enemies. If it was not for the witches prophecies guiding Macbeth he would have never murdered Duncan and Macbeths life would not have been a tragedy.
The Tragedy of Macbeth written by William Shakespeare is a tale of a man and his un-bridled ambition, set in ancient Scotland. Macbeth is a nobleman of the king of Scotland, Duncan, who is in mid-war with Norway. Macbeth and his fellow general Banquo encounter three witches. The witches tell the pair that Macbeth will be king, and Banquo’s children will also be kings. Any person in their right mind would question information given to them by strangers, let alone witches, but for some reason these statements intrigue Macbeth. They temp Macbeth to do evil things such as treason, and worse, to kill. Although un-bridled ambition is his main tragic flaw, there is one more that plays a big role in his decisions and the outcome of the story; Macbeth is far too impressionable.
of Macbeth's evil deeds, we still find him likeable. We see him in the same way
Macbeth is a play about tragedy. It tells the tale of one man’s evil rise to becoming king and his tragic downfall that led to his death. Nevertheless, it is also a play about the political history surrounding that king. Shakespeare took the story of Macbeth from Raphael Holinshed’s Scottish Chronicle in 1570 and even more from the second edition, Chronicles of England, Scotland and Ireland in 1587. From these books he was able to take bits and pieces of history, combine events, omit others, create his own tale of King Macbeth and make it appealing to the King and people of his time.
Macbeth, and all of William Shakespeare's other works include several universal themes. Shakespeare incorporates these themes into his works to emphasize meanings and points. Several times in Macbeth nature is out of order which coincides with unpleasant events occurring. This happens many times in Macbeth. Shakespeare demonstrates this using setting, characters, and dialog.

The readers feels sympathetic for MacBeth, as he is stuck in the middle of a situation he can’t get out of. However, sympathy is lost when MacBeth commits evil deeds that he is only responsible for. Macbeth is only persuaded to commit treason, but due to his paranoia he kills many more people. The main focus is Macbeth, being the unfortunate victim, from the 3 evil witches to Lady Macbeth. His downfall is caused by other people around him.
“Types of films are commonly referred to as genres (pronounced “zahn-rahz”). The word genre is originally French and simply means kind or type.” (Bordwell & Thompson, 2004: 108). Genre groups films, which share similar filmic qualities and themes, into various subsections according to the type of film they are associated as.

Film productions differentiate themselves from one another by its distinct aspects and storyline. Many of the motion pictures produced are narrative films, fictional storylines, that typically categorize themselves into a type of genre. Barsam and Monahan (2016) defines the term genre as the categorization of narrative films by the stories they tell and the ways they tell them (p. 85). The broad term of genre opens into six typically referenced movie genres which include the Western, horror, science fiction, musical, and gangster film. Among these genres, science fiction is a unique literary genre which has existed long before movies were invented (Barsam and Monahan (2016), 97).
