Everyone inside of the graphic novel is fighting the same war for different reasons. The good guys want to find a way back home while the bad guys want all of the power that the beyonder offers. Each side tries their hardest to achieve their goals while at the same time are impacted by self-fulfilling prophecies that are brought onto them. The author and the illustrators both use the character’s diction and their facial expressions to show the struggle of trying to stick to said prophecy while achieving their goals. Captain America is a good soldier; he does what he can to help his squadron and believes in the ‘no man left behind’ cliche. The author and illustrators show Captain America’s toughest line of dialogue that he had to say within
Nevertheless, an attitude they show is their cause for engaging in the war. On page 110, Lee describes, “With every step of a soldier, with every tick of the clock, the army was gaining safety, closer to victory, closer to the dream of independence.” His words reveal that their reason for coming was to gain their long overdue independence. Without a cause worth fighting for on each side, the war would have no fuel or reason to continue. In like manner, another attitude of the South was their admiration for their commander general. On page 251, Longstreet proclaims, “Colonel, let me explain something. The secret of General Lee is that men love him and follow him with faith in him. That’s one secret.” I believe this clarifies that the bond of brotherhood and respect for each other in this army would allow for these soldiers to follow their leader blindly. The overwhelming amount of faith and trust among the Army of the Northern Virginia is inspiring. The Confederates prove in these appearances that they do indeed have an important cause that they are willing to die
10. Captain Asa was a mean leader and a traitor to the union. He had instant hatred toward Jeff and almost made him change his name. Clardy’s motivation in my novel was to help Watie and the south win the war.

Norman Rockwell is best known for his depictions of dail life of a rural America. Rockwell’s goals in art revolved around his desire to create an ideal America. He said “ I paint life as I would like it to be.”
First, it is important to identify Captain America as a nonexclusive alter-ego. Isaiah Bradley, for instance, is an African American soldier who also received the Super-Serum. He later took on the role of Captain America, while still holding high moral standards. This proves Captain America is a symbol not bound by an individual, therefore not restricted by a certain demographic. Secondly, it is critical to examine virtue ethics, the moral code of Captain America, and how it can represent a whole country. In Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle argues about a person is continent, incontinent, viscous, or virtuous. A continent person knows right from wrong and usually does what is right. An incontinent person also knows right from wrong, but will easily succumb to his or her desires. A viscous person will also do what is wrong and enjoy it. A virtuous person will always do what is morally right. Using virtuousness or virtue ethics as a representation of a group is setting them up for failure, yet is advantageous for the group because they then aspire to virtuousness. To answer the initial question, Captain America is a symbol of virtue, without being constrained to a certain demographic. He or she (assuming that a female will act as Captain America eventually) serves as a moral example by which to

Hawkeye at first does not want to get involved in the war he only wants to
Paul Rand is the designer I will be talking about in these next few paragraphs. I chose Paul Rand for a couple of reasons. Before this semester, Paul Rand`s name has never been brought to my attention. Paul Rand`s name was first brought to my attention in my publication class. During that class we talk about Rand`s work and the designs he has created. Some of the most famous logos we see each and every day, I never knew they were his designs. Another reason why Paul Rand`s is intriguing to me personally is his techniques and approaches in how he creates his works. Rand was a take it or leave it type of guy. He showed his best designs

Does Captain America embody the definition of a patriotic hero? What is a hero? “A person, typically a man, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.” What is patriotism? “Patriotism is an emotional attachment to a nation which an individual recognizes as their homeland. This attachment, also known as national feeling or national pride, can be viewed in terms of different features relating to one 's own nation, including ethnic, cultural, political or historical aspects.” Captain America shows he’s a patriotic hero by simply his uniform, compassion, and strength. Not everyone in America has those things, and that upon many other things is what’s wrong with America.
Comic books are a uniquely American cultural creation, making them a fitting subject for the study of American history. Comics not only mirror the interest and opinions of society, but they also often help to change society by spreading new ideas and widespread sentiments. Comics have influenced our desires, our attitudes, and even our fears. They began to peak in popularity in terms of commercial success and cultural significance during the 1930s, coined the “Golden Age of Comic Books” which lasted until the 1950s. During this time, comics provided a source of cheap entertainment, they helped Americans cope with the New Deal villains, and they even inspired Americans to fight during World War II.
All throughout his address, Donald Trump uses this strategy to not only once again create a feeling of togetherness, but to also instill a patriotic feeling in the American people. He states, “Over the last year, we have made incredible progress and achieved extraordinary success. We have faced challenges we expected, and others we could never have imagined. We have shared in the heights of victory and the pains of hardship. We endured floods and fires and storms. But through it all, we have seen the beauty of America's soul, and the steel in America's spine.” He wants to depict that no matter the obstacle that has been put in America’s path, its people have joined hands and overcome it all. “Over the last year, the world has seen what we always knew: that no people on Earth are so fearless, or daring, or determined as Americans.” Stated mid-way through his speech, the President uses this to express his pride in the American people, and instill the same feeling in his
