A sickness occurred in a small town in Nome, Alaska. The sickness was so deadly that the doctor needed an antidote quickly, but nothing could get to the small town. Car nor train could get there, thats when they had to call the heroic dog sled teams to carry the antidote over to Nome. After that the Iditarod started and the tradition carried on year by year. What were those people, how did they train, how fast were the dogs going to get the antidote there on time, and what kind of dogs were there? There are many different dog breeds in the Iditarod, but there is only one that is common for the Iditarod. While training for this Iditarod the mushers will unlock new knowledge, come with new challenges, and conquer new fears. There are many speeds that dogs can go, but there is only one speed a group of Iditarod dogs can go. That is what will unlock this national Iditarod history.

The most common dog breed for the Iditarod is the sled dog. Most sled dogs are just normal dogs, but they have to have these certain things; a natural ‘fur’ coat, has to have an ECG evaluation(for heart abnormalities), must have a microchip implanted, and all dogs must be de wormed. Some of the dogs may be; Alaskan husky, Alaskan Malamute, Alusky, Canadian Eskimo dog, Chinook, Eurohound, Greenland dog, Kugsha dog, Mackenzie River husky, Samoyed, Seppala Siberian sleddog, and a Siberian husky. Most dogs can be a sled dog. So, most dogs are a very common dog breed for the Iditarod. The sled dog is the most common dog for the Iditarod.
