In my opinion, I believe that this article relates to both the ideology and the political filters. In terms of ideology, the I.R.S. should be fair and take the correct action with all groups who apply for the tax-exempt status. In addition to ideology, this article can relate with the political filter because the I.R.S. is showing biases when rejecting certain organizations because it would not be in their best interest to give them the exemption. Although the article had numerous facts throughout, I wanted to share these next three. First, I learned that for an organization to be considered a nonprofit they must be “primarily engaged in the promotion of social welfare”.
