Throughout all of world history there has been a constant reoccurrence of international problems corrupting the world and today’s society. A prime example of an international issue would have to be young European girls joining ISIS; otherwise known as Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. They are a radical Jihadist group that has been luring girls from all around Europe in order to become their reproductive machines and poster girls for their terrorist group. They have been using western culture themed propaganda in order to entice these young minds into giving up everything they have for this radical group. They are using these tactics because they know girls of their age are more susceptible to having a quick change in heart. This problem needs

to be addressed in order to stop the migration of European girls to Iraq and the Levant. The world’s most influential countries are recognizing that young European girls joining ISIS will only result in catastrophic endings for these girls. Solutions have been proposed in order to stop this world issue through monitoring and the creation of the Active Change Foundation. It is clear efforts have been made to retrieve these girls, but this issue has yet to have been resolved.
First of all, this issue is clearly problematic because ISIS is using their propaganda to tempt young women into joining ISIS. This is an important matter because those girls to make become inspire their acquaintances join the terrorist group. This starts to develop a cycle or a chain reaction where girls start to recruit each other into joining the terrorist group. “An estimated 4,000 Westerners have traveled to Syria and Iraq, more than 550 of them women and girls, to join the Islamic State, according to a recent report by the institute, which helps manage the largest database of female travelers to the region.” (Eckardt). This data is clearly dangerous and we need to find someway to lower this number and get these women to migrate back so they can't be used to create terrorist children. Women from Europe are very unhappy with their lifestyle and want something more out of their juvenile lives so they have decided to pack their bags and fly to Syria because they feel as if they don't know enough about their religion and want to learn more about it through violent and radical acts (Bennhold; Perez; Smith; “Hard to credit, but for British Muslim women Isis may offer freedom”). They feel excluded due to their Muslim culture and want a better life where their religion is supported. Surprisingly, ISIS doesn't plan on using these young girls for combat, they want to use them as reproductive machines. They see these women as future mothers, wise, and recruiters for their violent ideas (Bennhold). It seems as if they're just using them for their sexist ideals and they aren't being used for combat, yet they are still getting murdered, “according to local Austrian media Ms Kesinovic was murdered by the group as she tried to flee the Isis stronghold of Raqqa.” (Sehmer). Although, this information has come from a recent article, this issue has been dating back from as far as November of 2013. Kimiko De-Freytas-Tamura noted that a young British girl’s parents “did not expect her to leave her home in Glasgow in November 2013 to go to Syria, where the authorities now say she is one of the most active recruiters of young British women to join the Islamic State.” So clearly this issue has been here for over 3 years, yet it has not been solved. The reasoning behind this madness is ISIL’s spread of their twisted form of feminism in order to unite young girls through the use of propaganda based off of North American pop culture. For example, an image of a jihadist standing in front of a sunset scenery was spreading rapidly, it was making a mockery of L'Oréal's slogan "because I'm worth it". It was captioned "COVERed GIRL. Because I'm worth it." (Bennhold). These disgusting mockeries of western culture easily take these innocent young girls minds’ and twist them into become believers of jihadist ideologies. This wasn't the first time they used social media to trick girls into joining ISIS. Once they had girls pose as poster girls, they are captured infront of men holding AK47s behind sunsets (Bennhold). These girls are getting inspired by ISIS and each other in order to support a new subculture known as jihadi girl-power (Bennhold). It must be stopped immediately in order to restore the innocent the souls of these girls.
Although there has been no resolution to this problem, a lot of solutions have been proposed in order to fix this matter.

One of them being the Active Change Foundation. The Active Change Foundation (ACF) has created a vine account posting videos about how ISIS ruins the image of Islam and how they're the real enemy, not Muslims. It's important people understand how these British Muslims feel because people are blaming as Islams and generalizing them into a category titled "ISIS" which is wrong on so many unfathomable levels. They are using the message of #notinmyname to spread awareness towards their feelings. They don't want to be under the same reputation as ISIS, they just want to be respected because they are nothing close to ISIS (“ISIS Not in My Name”). These young girls left their homes because of ISIS, a group of terrorists, not people who believe in a religion of peace. An advantage of this organization would be that they're spreading awareness of the reality of what it's like to be a Muslim in this society. When a young woman is seen with a hijab she is instantly considered a terrorist. A man is wears a turban and he is mocked and called Osama Bin Laden. The migration of young European girls made this issue increase and the ACF has done a great job of making everyone realize who the real enemy is, ISIS. They are also deradicalizing the ideas and misconceptions of Islam. There are no disadvantages of the ACF. Second, Germany and Britain are proposing to monitor the girls escaping their countries. This has already been successful, After a girl from London overheard a group of girls who were planning to go to Syria, they were immediately reported and a judge took away their passports (Bennhold). Even in Germany a total of 40 investigations are happening as of right now (Eckardt). This is an advantage since monitoring the girls will help these researches gain more information on ISIS and the lives of these girls. This could be a disadvantage because it's

hard to bring in monitoring devices into Syria and the Levant. Finally, the best way to prevent European girls from joining ISIS is through campaigning. Videos are being related of women fleeing their home countries as refugees followed by emotional warnings for mothers who are under suspicion of their daughters that plan on fleeing to an ISIS-held territory (Smith). This is clearly the best choice because it is a good way to show young women what is really going on in ISIS and what they would be risking. Overall, all of these solutions work well in helping resolve this issue.
Young European girls joining ISIS been an ongoing problem and it needs to end. Fortunately, a logical solution is available;Showing videos to women in order to educate them on the situation seems to be a logical way to address the effects of young European girls joining ISIS. Hopefully, these girls realize what they’re risking and this problem is demolished.
