“Crazy Girl” “She’s batshit crazy,” Roger said from behind his computer monitor. “Hot as fuck, but batshit crazy. I mean we broke up two weeks, and she still keeps sending messages like this.” He passed his iPhone over the gray cubicle wall to Jimmy Fitzgerald better known as Fitzy, Roger’s friend and voice of reason since high school. Fitzy scrolled through the messages from the contact “DO NOT REPLY” in Roger’s phone. The one-sided conversations had started two weeks ago when Roger called his girlfriend of three months to break up. It wasn’t that Valerie was a bad girlfriend or not his type; she was exactly his type with lush red hair and shapely legs. The only reason they weren’t together was because she couldn’t understand boundaries when they were together let alone after they had broken up. Her obsession had almost ruined Roger’s career at the accounting firm when she started hiding in the back of his car to follow him into the office. It wasn’t until office security found her waiting in the break room without a visitor’s pass and escorted her out that Roger’s boss called him into the office. It was a nightmare, and one that Roger thought was over. Fitzy read the most recent text message aloud, “Are you going to come over tonight and we can talk about this? I miss you snuggle monster.” Roger smacked his forehead with the palm of his hand as Fitzy’s spoke loud enough, in his thick Baltimore accent, to be heard by everyone within earshot and followed by his unforgettable cackling. “Oh and this one,” Fitzy said. “What do you mean extra time apart? Are you planning a romantic surprise?” “You just had to read them out loud, huh?” Roger asked sarcastically. “Mindy told me to get a restraining order, but it would probably just ... ... middle of paper ... ...inutes she was close to climax, and she sucked the last of Roger’s life force from his body. Valerie slid off Roger’s corpse, careful not to get any more blood on herself. After washing her hands and arms, she returned to the bedroom to get dressed. The skin fell from her like an old shell, turning to dust as it fell. Her new face was wider with slanted eyes, and her hair changed from a blazing vermilion to a cool ash blond. “I am not a crazy girl,” she whispered to him. “I’m every crazy girl.” Just for good measure, she drove the knife through the mark on Roger’s chest, severing their connection. “Thanks for a great meal,” she said. On her way out, she dropped the bloody knife into the sink along with the other dirty dishes. She zipped up her leather jacket before closing the apartment door on Roger and her old identity. Tomorrow was the beginning of a new hunt.
This action shows that Roger is very disrespectful, and that he does not care about inflicting pain on someone who does not deserve it, by doing something disrespectful. This action may cause a series of problems later on in the novel, because Roger seems to like being rude to others and insulting them.
Roger first made a mark by throwing rocks at Henry early on in the book. Early on in the book, Roger made a mark in the book by throwing rocks at young Henry. Golding put a quote in that scene describing the throwing of rocks. The quote is “Roger gathered a handful of stones and began to throw them. Yet there was a space round Henry, perhaps six yards in diameter, into which he dare not throw.” (Golding 62) This shows how Roger, even though he purposely missed, was still throwing rocks at young Henry which was a mean thing. I believe that he did not hit Henry on purpose, because he wasn’t in “full demon mode”, which I believe he was later on in the book. I believe that his personally changed no immediately, but greatly throughout the book. This is the first example of not why, but how Roger shaped his identity throughout the book.
D. When Roger is throwing stones at Henry he is throwing to miss Roger doesn’t hit him because around him was a “taboo of the old life”(Goulding 62). This has always kept the boys in line, but Roger has changed now though he

Paramedics squeeze my arms, staining their gloves a deep red. Doctors and nurses scream at each other as they run across the hallways wheeling me into the operating theatre. I look over to my wrists as clear fluids begin their journey into my veins. My heart is in my throat, my pulse is echoing throughout the room, my limbs are quivering, and my lungs are screaming. Nurses force plastic tubes up my nose, as jets of cold air enter my sinuses, giving me relief. Inkblots dance before my eyes like a symphony of lights. A sudden sleepiness overcomes me and slowly my vision dims.
“I sat there for about a half hour after he left. I mean I just sat in my chair, not doing anything. I kept thinking about Jane, and about Stradlater having a date with her and all. It made me so nervous I nearly went crazy. I already told you what a sexy bastard Stradlater was”

Rosemary had another dinner date, a birthday party for a member of the company. Dick ran into a Collis Clay in the lobby, but he wanted to dine alone and pretended an engagement at the Excelsior. He drank a cocktail with Collis and his vague dissatisfaction crystallized as impatience – he no longer had an excuse for playing truant to the clinic. This was less an infatuation than a romantic memory. Nicole was his girl – too often he was sick at heart about her, yet she was his girl. Time with Rosemary was self-indulgence – time with Collis was nothing plus nothing.
"If you do not mind would you be able to continue chatting with me as long as I am in that uninteresting get-together?” he requested his girlfriend. "How can you assume that the reunion will be boring? After all it is the first time when
