I've dreamed all my life about dressing nicely, going to an office, and at the same time helping people. "Becoming a lawyer is a dream for many people, but some do not realize how difficult it is to make that dream come true." (Greyson 2, 1) Lawyers have many obligations. I have decided that I want to pursue a lawyer's career.
Lawyers “hold positions of great responsibility and are obligated to adhere to a strict code of ethics." (Job, 2) "A law degree is a great way to improve earning power, and there are several options for specialized courses of study." (Greyson 1, 1) “More like it, most of your time is spent in front of your computer, doing research, drafting memos and responding to e-mails.” (Ramos, 1) “Lawyers do most of their work in offices, law libraries, and courtrooms.” (Job, 3) “They sometimes meet in clients’ homes or places of business and, when necessary, in hospitals or prisons.” (Lawyers, 225) “Preparation for court includes understanding the latest laws and judicial decisions.” (Lawyers, 225) “As advocated, they represent one of the parties in criminal and civil trials by presenting evidence and arguing in court to support their client.” (Job, 2) “Because there are a range of different types of attorneys, most students apply to an accredited school that specializes in their preferred field.” (Greyson 1, 1) “Lawyers may specialize in a number of areas, such as bankruptcy, probate, international, elder, or environmental law.” (Job, 2)
“Students in high school can do a number of things to prepare themselves for law school.” (High, 1) “While law schools do not review your high school transcript you can use this time to begin to prepare yourself to become a lawyer.” (How, 1) “Take advanced placement or honors l...

My decision over a lawyer career is still my ultimate goal. It does seem complicated and hard. But I hope to reach this method. I am a stress freak. I stress about every little thing. Everything I’m going to be doing is going to be dedicated to my daughter Xandra. I want her to be happy and not have to worry if there’s enough money for anything how I did with my family. She’s my only motivation right about now. Patience is the key to overcome this. A lawyer’s career is my choice!

Throughout modern civilization, the American republic is widely known for its dependency upon the realm of business. Equally as vital, looms the ever-present hand of the American law system. “All beings have their laws: the Deity…man his laws” (Montesquieu,1), this statement serves true in founding that law is consistently a necessary portion in society because all society desires law. As a consequence of the continual presence of law, careers aimed to interpret the crevices of laws, and to defend them, are synonymously as necessary in society. Absolutely, the gain of America’s economy is a direct reflection of the lawyers who protect them. Lawyers are a necessity to the nation; serving their purpose as defenders of the law. The system of corporate law is undoubtedly the cornerstone of corporate finance, and as citizens begin to thrive more immensely in a capitalistic nation, legal representation will be the trailblazer to the continuation of the American system of corporations. As I embark upon the journey of excellence into the world of corporate law, I endeavor to change the way business is defended, upheld, and represented.
As I became more involved with campus life, I couldn’t find a way to immerse myself in preparing for a career in law. While I knew why I wanted a law degree, I couldn’t conceptualize what I wanted to do with it. Prior to college life, my familiarity with the legal system was by way of internships with judges and lawyers. Clearly, that traditional route perked my interest but not my passion. Living with the athletes affirmed my interest in their culture. I began to immerse myself in subjects surro...
The fact that interested me the most about the paralegal profession is that paralegals are not limited to working in a law office. There are a number of other career opportunities for paralegals. Some opportunities are in law-related fields, and other opportunities are in non-legal related fields; however, the opportunities are for jobs in which a paralegal education provides useful training. Paralegal skills intertwine with many other professions. In addition, I think that paralegals are underpaid because paralegals have many duties, responsibilities and pressures. Paralegals are attorneys’ right hand person and attorneys rely heavily on paralegals’ many skills.
Although the legal profession is a single discourse community, it is made up of many smaller discourse communities. This is so because while all lawyers share the same broad goals of the legal profession and have a general knowledge and expertise in all areas of the law, most lawyers after graduating from law school and passing the bar exam specialize in a particular area of law. This specialization requires the lawyer to go beyond the broad concepts of law as a whole and to become knowledgeable and proficient in the sometimes minute details of a more specific area of law. Even then, some lawyers will go even further to focus on one aspect or another of that particular area of law. This results in most lawyers being members of many even smal...
My major is Paralegal Studies and I expect to graduate with an Associates of Arts degree in December of this year. Many years ago, as an investigator for both a private company and a county agency, I was introduced to the legal field. Recently, I was awarded the opportunity to attend college, so I decided I wanted to reenter the legal profession as a paralegal. The paralegal profession appeals to me, because I enjoy the processes of developing a case, as well as its legal aspects. A paralegal is involved in a case from the beginning to the end; from the initial client interview to assisting the attorney during the client’s trial or the settlement process. My goal is to become a paralegal for a solo practitioner or a small firm in my local area who represent clients in different areas of the law.
Sheehan, James. The lawyer's lawyer. New York: Center Street, 2013. Print. this book tells me about lawyers about how they differ from other people
Many people think a lawyer's job is knowing the law. It is true but there is more to lawyering than knowing what the law reads. In fact, most lawyering duties require a strong set of analytical ability. According to the MacCrate Report in 1992, a task force was assigned to define basic lawyering skills and what skills are necessary for a student should possess by the time they begin practicing law (Natt Gantt, 2007). These basic skills and values include: (1) problem solving; (2) legal a...
“The Paper Chase” and “Legally Blonde” are two films that depict the legal education in popular legal culture. This concept refers to just about everything that individuals know or believe to know about law, lawyers, and the legal system (Asimon, 4). Both of these films try to provide viewers with what the actual law education is at a top rated university. There are numerous stereotypes about law school as well gender roles, which are recognized throughout both of these films. Often times, watching certain movies or television shows about law and lawyers can put legal issues or other labels in a different perspective.
and I knew that one day I would want to pursue this dream. In fact, I love watching shows about lawyers such as suits. Many of my family members have always wanted me to be lawyer and they have been saying it since I was very young. One day I decided to search it up and see what being a lawyer was about. When I started researching it, I was very interested in the job
Every 27.1 seconds a violent crime occurred, and every 3.7 seconds a property crime occurred. Do you want to help those accused of crime? If so, than I know the perfect career for you: A Criminal Defence Lawyer. I am also thinking about pursuing this career. You might wonder, “Why do you want to become a lawyer?”
From a very early age, I have been asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I always said I would be an artist, author, or something else creative, yet unstable. Now that I am older, my only requirement is that I want to help people. There are no limits to the ways someone can help others, so narrowing down careers has been difficult. Also, I have to think more practically about my future, since taxes, mortgages, and student loans are all on the horizon and must impact my decisions. At the moment, I am torn between two career possibilities. Both optometry and law are respectable careers; however, optometry would be better suited to the lifestyle I want to live.
Career as a lawyer is very respectful as they serve to maintain the law and order. They are responsible for providing justice to the innocent and punishment to the offenders. Career as Lawyer on one side is challenging and risky but on the other side, it is prestigious and honorable as well.
"The jury has made their decision, the plaintiff has been found guilty." These are the words that one day I will finally hear. My future goal is to be a lawyer. A lawyer is a professional person authorized to practice law. They defend or prosecute people for the crimes they have committed. (dictionary.com) I am very out spoken and believe in fighting for what I want or think is right.
