My mother and aunt started a business called Art d’China years ago before my birth. They import porcelain, crystal, stainless steel and glass tableware from China to Peru, primarily for use in hotels and fine restaurants. I grew up listening to their conversations with my uncle, who runs his business since the last 20 years, about the state of the Peruvian economy, possible profit earnings, and whether or not a given restaurant would be a suitable client for their product. They took into consideration factors such as the quality and type of food being served at exclusive Peruvian restaurants in order to determine which types of plates to import. I was fascinated listening to their different business strategies; although I do not plan on being a part of their business, I would like to take advantage of Peru’s current booming economy. I intend to start up something of my own or work in an upcoming industry that seeks to establish itself more firmly in the Peruvian market.

Nowadays, everyone has a Bachelor’s, it’s become the standard to have one. I feel having something greater than that is bound to catch the employer’s eye of wherever I might apply. The job I plan on taking with the double-major is the field of accounting. This job basically revolves around math which is the subject I’m best on. I plan on working as that for a while. I’d want to do it enough to clear any debt that I may have, or just to settle down. My preferred college for this is the University of Texas, as I’ve come to learn they have an excellent business program. After doing that for a few years, I want to go back to law school to get my law degree. I feel with the experience I’ll get from business and law I’ll be more than suited to be a lawyer from a company. Companies, especially those whom make any products for customers, get sued a lot. Having experience on both of these fields would make me excellent for this position.

Because of the skills required to study economics, courses in mathematics, statistics, econometrics, sampling theory and survey design, and computer science are extremely helpful (“Economists” Truity.com). Undergraduate economics majors can choose from a variety of courses, ranging from microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics to more philosophical courses, such as the history of economic thought. Economists have to have a general understanding of their field. However they often specialize in one or two categories (“Facts about Economists”).
ice would seem to be a good company to use as an example of the appropriate way to approach marketing in foreign countries. Gallo Rice has been aided in their international expansion by the fact that they have kept an eye on consumer interests in the respective countries they have chosen to operate in. Rather then releasing a single homogeneous product line throughout the world, they have done a good job of adapting to the wants of needs of local consumers. Gallo has also done a good job of keeping track of the individual actions of their major competitors in the respective markets in which they operate.

Investing or venturing into the international market involves critical analysis of the internal and external environment in which the company operates. Usually, a company will decide to venture internationally due to a saturated market or fierce competition in the current country of operation. The demand for a company’s products may have diminished as a result of an economic crisis thus the company will target a foreign market to sustain its sales. In other words, the firms expand internationally to seek new customers for its products. For example, the current Euro zone crisis led to low demand in Europe and many companies extended their businesses to emerging markets where demand was high. A company may also venture in the international market to enhance the cost-effectiveness of its operations especially for manufacturing companies that will benefit from low costs of production in developing world. Global expansion is a long term project as it involves demanding logistics to be successful. Thorough research must be undertaken to ensure that the expansion will create value for share...
My long term career goal is to found my own financial company that specializes in applying advanced analytics tools to solve complex financial problems. Having worked as a financial analytics analyst for more than 6 months at Enova Financial, a Chicago-based consumer online financing company, my passion towards financial analytics is reinforced. Ranging from basic data query and reporting to predictive modeling and optimization, data analytics has assumed a more important role in today’s financial services industry. Mastering data analytics could help financial institutions acquire the relevant information in the shortest amount of time and make the informed decisions thereafter. Since personal loan industry is only the niche of financial services, I would like to broaden my horizon of the financial knowledge by gaining a deeper understanding of its principle and its application in order to achieve my loan term goal. Entering a full-time master in finance program, as such, becomes the best option for me.
The crucial importance and relevance of economics related disciplines to the modern world have led me to want to pursue the study of these social sciences at a higher level. The three careers in finance that I have an interest in applying are Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Financial Advisor, and Financial Analyst.
In today's world, economics associated disciplines are of fundamental significance and application and this has encouraged me to pursue a degree in Economics. Economics has an important relevance in all of our lives. As consumers we try to make the best of our limited incomes. As workers we take our place in the job market. As citizens of a country our lives are affected by the decisions of our government: decisions over taxes, decisions over spending on health and education, decisions on interest rates, decisions that affect unemployment, inflation and growth. As dwellers on the planet Earth we are affected by the economic decisions of each other: the air we breathe, the water we drink and the environment we leave for future generations are all affected by the economic decisions taken by the human race. It is these stimulating issues that excite me about economics. I enjoy studying Economics enormously and believe my passionate interest in economics is continually strengthened by my regular reading of 'The Economist'
Globalization can not only affect a company opening an office in another country but it can affect a small local business as well. As the internet brings the world closer together it becomes far more likely that a business that opened with no intention of selling internationally will have customers form different parts of the world asking for their product. For instance a steel company located in Pennsylvania may suddenly find orders coming in from South American factories. How the steel plant chooses to handle this new international customer could mean ...
