Foresters help to sustain private and public forests while managing the distribution of standing timber to different companies. I find this occupation very interesting because they manage important resources and protect important habitats. I became interested in this job when I learned about how huge the role forestry has in logging public and private forests. Without forestry to regulate logging companies forests could be stripped bare, and destroyed. Habitats would be ruined, animals would die, climates would change and without the replanting of trees eventually the timber industry would shut down. I want to become a forester to help make sure that ever happens. Many people don’t realize how important wood is to our society. It’s a forester job to know how important it is that humans conserve and protect the ecosystems around them, but also make sure that people will get that oh so important resource. I look forward to learning about how foresters do what they do, and what steps they took to get there.
I see myself working in this department because I love the outdoors and I find managing and protecting forests important and essential. Without logging there would be no wood products available for human use, and without forestry there’d be no limit on the consumption of forests. I chose to complete my job shadowing experience on forestry because I want to make a difference in the environment. Living in Jewell there are a lot of trees, and a lot of logging in the surrounding areas. I always wondered how loggers knew which type of trees and in what areas they were a loud to harvest. When I found out foresters played a major role in this I wanted to learn more. The part of forestry I’m most interested in is timber cruising and refor...

...its to the taxing districts in Clatsop County and to the citizens of Oregon”.
Mr. Williams mentioned the area he grew up in, which just so happens to be Jewell. The same area I’ve grown up in. I’ve seen the beauty the forests here hold, and I look forward to someday possibly being able to manage the same forests Mr. Williams, a very experienced forester, regards as highly productive.
To be a forester is no walk in the park. Unless you’re working for a state or federal government, then you could be literally walking through and managing parks and forests. It’s important to be rather physically fit; trekking through underbrush isn’t always easy. After my research I’ve become even more interested in the forestry department. I look forward to completing twenty hours of job shadowing in the coming months and hope to learn even more about forestry and conservation work.
Logging is a huge industry in the Pacific Northwest for obvious reasons. The abundant, lush, forests are an ideal location for major logging companies to stake their claim. For many Pacific North westerners, and Americans in general, the logging industry is a major part of the economy. Many loggers have been raised and trained for their entire life to become loggers. Many loggers know no other skills to support themselves other than logging and the logging industry. There are many communities located in the Pacific Northwest that are supported fully by the logging industry. Without the logging of the old growth forests, their families and their livelihoods would be ruined.
Being raised in the rural, rolling hills of West Virginia provides a childhood that is unforgettable. Being able to see the four different seasons and how they always change so beautifully into each other is beautiful. The hills are sprinkled with timbered forest of many types of trees, accompanied by different types of wild flowers and wild life. Passing through all of the small towns and hollers, you can still see the small farms that have been passed down from generation to generation within the families.
Analysis: This setting shows in detail a location which is directly tied to the author. He remembers the tree in such detail because this was the place were the main conflict in his life took place.
Due to the constraints included in Forest Service’s postings many otherwise qualified applicants are excluded (Reeves, 2006). Hiring by quota is unfair to applicants and can lead to dangerous conditions when positions are filled by temporary employees or remain vacant because ...

I have always wondered what my future career would be.I experienced many things during my days in school and at home.My experiences helped me realize that I should become an animal caretaker.Becoming an animal caretaker would mean that I could spend my time working and interacting with animals.I would need to be able to care for living creatures, have the right education, and withstand the disadvantages.
There have always been many different trees are found in the forest. Tall ones, round of leaf and with broad branches spread open in welcome. Short ones are found here as well, with thin trunks and wiry limbs they sway in the breeze. A wide variety of foliage in the emerald grove dancing merrily to the whispers of the wind. In this quiet thicket, a different type of tree grows, too. They stand resolute, patient, and ever growing.
The career field I chose is to be a firefighter. The reason why I want to be a firefighter is because they help people and prevent fires from spreading. I’ve always wanted to help people everywhere, because I don’t like it whenever if there is an accident and some people died and lost their loved ones, people talking crap about them and just talking and pointing the cameras in their face watching them cry. I want to help people and make a difference and help protect people’s life, and be someone people recognize when I walk by them.
For a long time before I decided I wanted to own my own business I wanted to be a law enforcement officer, specifically a Game Warden. A Game Warden is almost like a forest ranger who patrols the forests, lakes, rivers and hunting spots. Basically they patrol the woods and make sure people are not over fishing lakes, poaching animals out of season and staying safe during the winter when Ice fishing or snowmobiling. This seemed like the perfect career for me. I love being outdoors, I like fishing or hunting and snowmobiling has been something I have wanted to do for a while. I discovered this career while I was attending a junior police academy over the summer in Concord, New Hampshire. I originally wanted to be a state trooper but once I

Geology is a great profession because it has so many areas and branches. There is something for anything that you are interested in regarding the Earth and/or it's history. Geologists get to travel to cool places and see cool things. They are paid to spend time in remote and beautiful locations. They are not stuck in one place, because they work in the field, the laboratory, and the office. Being a geologist comes with a lot of work and responsibility, but there are so many rewarding aspects that it is completely worth it.
Industrial logging is the main cause of forest loss throughout the tropics. It is the starting point of a process leading to the forests' final destruction and substitution by agricultural crops, cattle raising or monoculture tree plantations. These are well known facts supported by more than sufficient evidence.
Last autumn, while on a trip, I decided to walk through a State Forest. This huge forest enriches the countryside not far from town and was a place where indians held hunting rights until recently. Little streams, ancient trees, shaded paths, and hidden places are some of the physical attributes which make the State Forest an enchanting place.
First and foremost is the establishment of Forest Protection Schemes, which mainly aim at setting up National Parks and Forest Reserves. Although this is a very effective method it is not enough and such schemes tend to be used to justify destructive exploitation of unprotected areas of forest. Farm Forestry generally refers to the incorporation of commercial tree growing into farming systems. Farm Forestry is as effective as it is because it takes the load off old-growth forests.
I used to go there to sit down on a rock and watch the town and my trees. There was a very old tree, a maple tree, with a huge trunk. The others were smaller, three in the back, three on my left side and the old maple tree on my right. There were flowers, many kinds, white, yellow, purple and blue. It was nobody's place. Nobody owned that hill, but it was beautiful and peaceful and I dreamed many times about a white house over there.
