I am applying to your master’s degree program in criminal justice with a concentration in Homeland Security for the spring semester of 2016. While obtaining my undergraduate degree at Fayetteville State University, I had the opportunity to intern with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety where I was exposed to different aspects of the criminal justice system, such as probation and parole, law enforcement, the juvenile justice system, and corrections. In addition, I currently work at the county summary court in Greenville, South Carolina as an administrative support specialist.
Growing up, I always had an interest in criminal justice, and I always had great admiration for those who are committed to protect the law and our national

In addition, I was able to improve my time management skills. As an undergraduate, I held a full time job, and I also took care of my family. However, my responsibilities didn’t hinder me from being an outstanding student and graduating with honors. I can assure you that these qualities will move along with me as I pursue my master’s degree.
I have chosen to apply to Saint Joseph’s University to obtain my master’s degree in Homeland Security because I want to have a better understanding of how all the different agencies come together in order to make Homeland Security successful. I want to gain a better prospective on what it takes to protect and respond to natural disasters or events that can endanger our national security. I believe a master’s degree in Homeland Security will provide me with in-depth understanding on how to make quick decisions during any crisis.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter, and for considering my application. It would be an honor to continue my studies with Saint Joseph’s
Criminal justice is one of the most important majors one can study due to the necessity to keep the streets safe and clean. From street cops, to state troopers all the way to criminal psychologists the criminal justice system is a very important part of modern society as it keeps us safe from murders, rapists and various other criminals. The street cops are the ones that are out on our streets protecting every citizen. It can be as simple as writing a parking ticket on a car that is illegally parked, to arresting murderers and rapist in a quiet neighborhood in the suburbs. The cops are the ones that are keeping our streets more safe for families everywhere. The main thing I want to learn about Criminal Justice is where I can go with my degree. By studying criminal justice I would like to be able to pursue my dreams of becoming a Drug enforcement agent so that I can help make neighborhoods safe and take bad people off the public streets.
Unlike a menial position at your local Walmart, a position at your local prison is admirable and moderately difficult to land, hence one has to be prepared and qualified to take on the duties expected of them if they aspire to land a job as a correctional officer. To do so, I will attend the law enforcement program at BOCES, a vocational school connected to the school in which I attend. And post high school, I intend to apply to the State University of New York at Canton. While attending SUNY Canton, I’ll earn an AAS in criminal justice.
I have always taken an interest in Criminal Justice and crime prevention ever since middle school and I set out to make my career goal to become a Criminal Justice professional. Thus, pursuing a Criminal Justice master’s degree has been a part of my plans for the future and will become one of my core focuses that I will set up in my graduate studies. It will also enable me to become a more competent working professional and encourage me to advance towards the doctoral program.
I have worked in law enforcement for nearly 18 years. I began my career in 2000 at the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Department after graduation from the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice in Richmond, Kentucky. I also worked at the Edmonton Police Department and Glasgow Police Department. I then attended the Kentucky State Police Academy and became a Kentucky State Trooper where I obtained the rank of Trooper First Class. As a Kentucky State Trooper, I worked as a patrol
As a young boy, I dreamed of becoming a police officer or a fireman. Of course, many young boys my age harbored similar aspirations. However, I was not attracted to these professions for their obvious action and bravado. What made the people who performed these jobs special to me is that they stood up for others. They protected others when they could not help themselves. For me, they represented justice. In retrospect, I know these early admirations laid the foundation for my future interest in law.
I would like to sincerely thank you for your consideration of my application during the regular decision round, and your continued interest. What first drew me to Tufts University was the renowned academics and bountiful research opportunities. However, upon visiting campus, I realized there is much more to Tufts than what was evident in my research; more so than any of the other colleges I visited, Tufts University champions diversity and self-exploration.
I am fully aware that yours curriculum requires that I summon all my resources and I aver that I have the necessary commitment, intelligence and stamina to look forward to do it all. I am convinced that my study at your department would be meaningful and rewarding experience to achieve my objective of life. I look forward to have a long and profitable association with your esteemed college. I especially thank you for giving me the opportunity to express about myself.
In conclusion, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for enabling me to express myself. I would be very thankful if I am offered an admission in your esteemed university.
Self-motivation, self-discipline, time management, and the ability to prioritize are all essential ingredients to graduate successfully. As a single working mother of two kids it is crucial for me to understand where my time is going. The concept of going back to college seemed a little far-stretched, but in today’s economy and job market, it is necessary. I am a mother who leads by example; therefore it is a top priority of mine to balance life and the time commitment to the program as this is a long term investment.
This calls a need for people especially students in college to warm up to the fact that if they are unable to manage their time appropriately while in school it is apparent that as they transition into their working life they will demonstrate the same effects still while on the job.
Instead of working until 12 a.m., I would come home at 9 p.m., and had a lot more time to study and write papers. Working less hours and focusing more on school helped me tremendously, not only did my papers get better but I also got accepted into Texas State University. When applying at Texas State as a transfer, students have to write an essay so that the university can get to know the students a little better, it took me about 2 months to write my paper just because I wanted it to be really good and have it perfect for them. Taking this class has helped me learn a lot about writing and it really reflected on my essay for the university because I received a letter back from the school saying my essay was
I have successfully worked towards my goals with my academic achievements, my community service, and my work experience. My volunteer experiences with Habitat for Humanity, ADOAA, and my father’s nursing home have helped me develop strong leadership skills, and have taught me how to interact with a wide variety of people. In addition to my volunteer experiences I work off campus throughout the semester at Olive Garden as a certified trainer and I am in the Army Reserves. The combination of my volunteer experiences, both of my jobs, maintaining my grades, and actively participating on campus, I have matured immensely and mastered time management.
I am sure that you will find me as a deserving and creditable student for your renowned University. I am confident that given the opportunity, I would perform to the best of my abilities and seek to acquire skills that will help me achieve my goals and contribute towards research endeavours. It would indeed be a great pleasure and honour to study at your university
Colorado Christian University feels like the right choice for me to pursue my bachelor’s degree in nursing. I have been a registered nurse since 2004 and have been working in the field ever since. I had my daughter at age 19. While in the hospital, I was intrigued by the nursing staff. That was the point in time that I became interested in becoming a nurse. I never gave much effort in high school, so attending college was a scary thought for me. I doubted myself, and therefore it took me several years to apply to and attend Front Range Community College. I have had thoughts of continuing my education in the past, but again, the fear of re-entering school has held me back. I didn’t think I could do it, and be working full time. I recently lost my nursing job that I have had
