Starting off, I am Brooke Davis and I would like to thank you for giving this scholarship opportunity to students like me. Without scholarships I, along with many others, would not be able to attend their intended college.
When it comes to school, academics always come first. Whether I am an athlete, employee, or member of a club, I am always a student first. With that being said, I have exhausted all of my efforts into my grades and I take pride in my academic accomplishments. Despite putting academics first, I am still an active member in the community and in the school. Also, when attending college, I plan on putting forth the same effort, if not more, into my academics and student involvement. All of the hard work in high school is preparing me for college and graduate school in order to reach my goal of being an attorney. Being awarded this scholarship will help me attend the college that will provide me the best education.
In high school I have received many academic awards, along with being on high honor roll all four years. Some of the achievements awarded to me are as follows: Illinois State Scholar, scholar athlete, Silver Medallion, and outstanding student of the year in Spanish and

I did not realize I wanted to be an attorney until I participated in an internship at a local law firm. Ever since the internship, I am positive being a lawyer is what I want to do. In order to reach my career goal of being an attorney I will need to excel in school. I plan on being in the honors program at whichever college I choose to attend and along with that I am intending to major in criminal justice with a prelaw track. I chose a major of criminal justice because I feel that will better prepare me for understanding the justice system for when I attend graduate school. Saint Louis University is my education goal because I want to be accepted into their school of law when the time
In a world where most college freshmen do not graduate or dropout, i feel like it would mean to much more to me to graduate and be able to say I got my degree. studies have said that half of freshman will not complete there degree, another study said that 25% of freshmen will change their major before they finish their sophomore year. If i was given this scholarship money it would put me in a place where hopefully I won't become just another statistic. Another reason a college degree is important for me to achieve is so that i will be respected in my work industry of choice. When you are in a place of work, there is always someone who everyone looks up to because they know the most about certain things, but more often than not that person has the highest degree in his or her field. If I was awarded this scholarship i would be more capable of being that person because i would not have to worry about leaving school to figure out how I will pay off my
Getting this scholarship was my jump start to furthering my education and I knew from there that I was going to prove statistics wrong. I knew I was going to college and that things were going to be different for me and I was going to make a difference. I won’t be the black kid who drops out of school, because my education is too important to
I need this scholarship to achieve my goals and most importantly to make my family proud. My family did not get this chance that you are giving me so I am not just doing this for me, I am also doing this for them. I already have all the support from all of my family and all of my friends, but that alone is not enough to conquer my dreams, and to prove all the people that have doubted me that they were wrong. I hope that this organization can help me reach my goals, and to most importantly make them become a reality. I want to look back onto my life and know that this scholarship, and college helped me to be the man I will be. I hope you accept me into your college and most importantly giving me this
With all of the downfalls that I have experienced in my academic and personal life, a college education will make it possible for me to continue my journey into becoming a prestigious corporate lawyer. I have the drive for success and I am certain that with this scholarship I will be able to pay off my debt and help my mother with her own educational goals. I was content that I was able to encourage her to attend school and I am most fortunate to be given an opportunity to help both her and myself achieve our ultimate goals for the near future.
I cannot express in mere words how grateful I am for your donation through the Brian E. Gombar Memorial Scholarship towards my education, more importantly my hopes and dreams regarding my future. As I enter my sophomore year of college at Pace, I realize that I have even more responsibilities to fulfill as a committed student and member of the Pace community. It is because of your tremendous kindness in offering me the Brian E. Gombar Memorial Scholarship that I am getting this opportunity and so much more. So I sincerely thank you.
I identify with scholarship because all throughout high school I have strived for A’s. There is the occasional class that challenges me that is accompanied by a B, however I still strive for A’s following that B. During my high school career, I have nothing less than a 4.0 GPA. I make sure to attend and participate in class. Being active in academics determines the outcome of an individual along with character, service, and leadership. The four pillars of National Honors Society are what make me who I am. I am a leader who does servicer with astonishing character and excellent scholarship
My short terms goals for college are to maintain my excellent GPA. A good GPA is essential to getting into medical school and this scholarship will allow me to focus more on my
Since attending East Duplin High School, I have faced many obstacles, late night homework, and family issues that just add on to the stress of being a student. I have enjoyed my high school, but I can’t wait for what college has to offer me. However, have reached the recent dilemma of needing financial aid for college. I believe that i deserve the Mill Swamp Community Club Scholarship because I have worked hard throughout my high school career, I have grown up in the community, and with the money I plan not only to better myself, but bring back my knowledge from college and apply to my home community.
Becoming a Lawyer Loving to argue, speak, and to persuade/convince, I have chosen to research the career of a lawyer. I have always been intrigued by the audacity and wit that lawyers have naturally. I will explain the steps in order to be on the right path in order to become a lawyer. While attaining a degree in your undergraduate studies, you must select a major that will be of some assistance and relevance to your particular law career. For example, if you want to be a corporate lawyer, you should major in business or if you want to be a judge, you should major in political science.
As a contributing member to our community, I believe that I am a great model to exemplify scholarship, leadership, service, and character. One way that I exhibit scholarship is my grades, by holding a cumulative grade point average of 3.664. I show my dedication by working as hard, smart, and efficient as possible, both while in and outside of the classroom. I exhibit leadership not only in the classroom, but also in athletics. I am a leader for the cross country team, as well as the basketball team.
In my final year of my undergraduate education, my most prominent academic goal is to utilize my remaining access in these studios and time to spend in these amazing facilities to make a body of work that fully reflects my perspective as an artist. In addition to this, I plan to fully embrace the valuable feedback of my faculty and peers and to enjoy the time that is given to fully develop our concepts and techniques. Professionally, my immediate goals are to allow myself to be in a position after graduation where I will be able to continue exploring and making work that is mutually investigative and informed by design. I plan to pursue both residencies and graduate programs that could facilitate this further investigation, but I am also open to seeing how my plans develop and change over the next several months.
I want to become a lawyer because I’ve always been interested in the occupation and I want to help people. To be more specific I want to be a prosecutor. I used to watch shows such as Criminal Minds and Law and Order and I also watched the news. While watching the news, I began to think that not all criminals are getting caught, and they are starting to do more and more things to damage the world. I can’t stand thinking that people are doing horrible things and thinking its okay. I want to be able to put those people in prison where they belong.
I have always been amazed by the ocean’s immensity. During my childhood’s summers, I used to go to the beach with my family and always asked me the same question: What was the purpose of the huge water mass in front of me? What were the wonders hidden in the ocean? As I grew, I decided I need to find the answer to those questions and studied Marine Sciences at college. While advancing in my degree, which I was projecting in physical oceanography, I realized that it was not only a matter of physics but ultimately, a series of feedbacks between other natural systems in the Earth and even out in space.
I am always looking ahead and planning for the future. I expect excellence from myself and I thrive to be better everyday for the people around me or my teammates on the basketball court. This is why I set goals for myself daily, to inspire people in the world, to make an impact, and finding a job in the future to pursue. These are all my goals that I want to achieve and college will play a huge part in this. College will give me the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and meet new people, finding what to major in, and participating in clubs and organizations with multiple people. Also, I am going to play college basketball so I will be getting to know the girls on my team and how I am going to make an impact. College is going to give me the best chance to succeed in life in order to achieve my goals.
As a freshman, I thought no one would know who I was by the time I became a senior. From being involved in my school and community I have changed that idea. I think that I am the best candidate to qualify for this scholarship because I am a very hard working and driven student. I have had many academic achievements and have been very involved. I believe I am deserving of this scholarship because I have spent many hours of studying to get where I am today.
