I am highly honored to get a nomination for membership in the National Honor Society. When I started high school some of my goals were to learn as much as I could, try my hardest in all my classes, get involved in clubs, and find ways to serve and help the community. Weymouth High School played a tremendous role in helping me accomplish many of these goals and opened me up to new opportunities. After receiving a nomination for the National Honor Society, I realized that I have upheld the values that Weymouth High School cherishes and I will try my best to continue doing that. If I get the chance to join this organization, it will help me continue pursuing my goal of changing the in the community and the school in positive ways. At the same …show more content…
time, it will also encourage me to become a responsible citizen of the country. I consider serving the community a responsibly of every citizen and I have always tried my best to get involved in all the community service opportunities I can find.
For the past three years, my favorite community service has been volunteering at The Great Pumpkin Give-A-Wey, which is a Halloween related event organized by the town of Weymouth. I personally love helping the little kids in the activities and setting up stalls for people and in doing so I get to learn more about all the wonderful resources available in Weymouth and meet new people. I feel like I make a positive impact in the atmosphere of the community, even if it is small. In addition to doing work for the local community, I also want to find ways to help my school. Since sophomore year, I decide to become a laboratory assistant in training (LAT) in place of my free periods. As a LAT, I assist science teachers with setting up labs, cleaning, grading papers, and organizing. A LAT does not get any graduation credits, …show more content…
but I still enjoy doing this because it really helps the teacher. The teachers work hard to make their students succeed and I think it is important to lessens some of their workload and let them know that they are appreciated. Being a LAT, provided me with multiple ways to improve the condition of the school. Once, with the help of a science teacher, I was able to clean the science computer lab and I’m glad I got a chance to change the school in a positive way. The best part was that the teachers were happy and there was so much appreciation between the students and teachers. I believe this sets a great example for other students and departments in the school. I think that if we fulfill our duties towards our community to improve the current conditions, then others will realize the importance serving the community, too. As I became more involved in the community, it encouraged me to take more leadership positions. Something I am very passionate about is playing badminton. Since Weymouth High School does not have it as a sport, I decided to start my own badminton club. My club had a few meetings last year and I am planning on continuing it this year once the gym is available. I chose to start this club because many other student loved playing this sport and were interested in finding a place to play it. Besides starting the club, I also became a student voice facilitator. As a facilitator, some of my responsibility include running the student voice summit, attending after school meetings with the administration and the student council. I’m proud to be a facilitator for student voice because it gives students the chance to come up with ways to solve the school’s problems and ideas to improve the positivity of the school’s environment. Additionally, when was in eighth grade, a new club named, Roots & Shoots started and I was one of the leaders of the club. We came up with ways to help local welfare organizations through food drives. In high school, I joined the VIP club since it has similar motives as Roots & Shoots and we find creative ways to get all Weymouth public schools involved in volunteering. Throughout high school, I have acquired essential leadership skills and I try to be the leader of clubs that promote the common welfare instead of something that only benefits me. Along with serving the community and sharpening my leadership skills, I strive to achieve high academic performance and I even challenge myself to take difficult courses that will help me when I am in college.
I always try my hardest in every subject. I take the responsibility of my classes extremely seriously because I consider schoolwork to be my top priority. I also have made the honor roll multiple times. I believe that all my hard work and dedication has paid off as I am nominated for the National Honors Society. Along with responsibility of school, I also have the responsibility of fulfilling my parent’s dreams. I have seen my parents work hard their entire life so they could to make my future better. Their dream is to see me becomes a doctor one day. Ever since high school started, I put forth my best effort to succeed in the future and hopefully make their dream come true. The responsibilities given to me by my teachers and parents have pushed me to keep on working and get things done on time. As I live up to more and more my responsibilities and promises, I have gained the trust of my parents, teacher, and friends. I think for a person to be truly be successful, honestly is important in academics and other areas of life along with dedication to accomplish your
goals. Throughout high school, I have gained an unbelievable amount of knowledge and this year I finally understood how to be an active citizen in the community. I good citizen will be fair are serve the community. I strongly believe that a person should be not be bias or be judgmental towards other people. I treat people fairly and with respect because that is the way I would like to be treated. I try to be fair as much as possible because equality a core American belief guaranteed to people in the Declaration of Independence and a true citizen should live up their beliefs. Once I stopped judging people, I made so many new friends especially in the ELL club. I have also evolved into a better citizen of the county throughout these three years. From Weymouth High School, I learned that a person’s wellbeing is dependent upon the common welfare. By joining and leading certain clubs and doing community service I have been able to help the needy by proving food and some basic necessities. Even though my efforts may be small, they still help some people and I will continue to do this. Once reason I joined many clubs and wish to join the Nation Honors Society is because I want to make a positive impact on society. I care about the wellbeing of my neighbors, friends, teachers, and relatives. I want to make Weymouth and Weymouth High School a better place so the future generations can be proud of it and have a great experience. Student voice, VIP, and Roots & Shoots have all given me a way to improve the atmosphere of the school and help people outside of school through actives such as food drives. I even participated in the NEASC tour that took place in the beginning of the year because I wanted to make sure that those people will have good impression of our school by seeing all the great programs in our school. Being a LAT, made me respect my teachers even more because I actually saw all the work they do and that they care about their student’s learning. My desire to improve and serve the community has earned me respect from my teacher and classmates, whom I also respect deeply. If I get selected for the National Honor Society, I will do my best to complete all the responsibilities with utmost sincerity. I know that this membership will help bring out the best of me and urge me to spread more positivity. Since I possess leadership, service and character, it qualifies me to be a worthy candidate for such an honor. I hope I receive the chance to represent the National Honor Society and contribute to it while gaining new knowledge from it.
I am exceptionally grateful for this opportunity to possibly be a member of this very prestigious organization. Every day I work tremendously hard to be noticed by both other scholars and my teachers. Now that an opportunity has come, I am truly excited to demonstrate and live by the values of The National Junior Honors Society. I hope to further expose and show both my dedication and want to join arms with my community and my peers and I wish to continue to work with passion and fire to shape the world into a brighter place.

It is a tremendous honor to be considered for membership in the most prestigious Honor Society available at Wapato High School. It is even more grand to be able to work towards enrollment in the Society side by side with such an astoundingly gifted group of young men and women. I am only being considered for potential membership in the National Honors Society because I have demonstrated an exemplary academic attitude, and have proven this through the grades I have attained during the years I have spent in the Wapato School District and the fondness amongst my teachers I have achieved. There are also other characteristics besides good scholarship I must fill for membership in the Society, those being services I have done to benefit others in the community, leadership positions I have held, and an original and interesting demonstration of
I am writing to inform you of my possible contributions to the National Honor Society and my interest in becoming a member. I view myself as a strong minded individual with a strong incentive to learn. Acquiring the ability to learn fast and adapt quickly has enabled me to be a part of a wide range of organizations. My participation and loyalty to the NHS could result in a great strive forward. I could provide more ideas of services to benefit the school and our community. I would also devote a large portion of my free time to the organization and assist in any way possible. Whether that means coming in early in the morning or staying late after school, I would do any means necessary to show my commitment.

“Leadership, dreams, scholarships, service, pride and character”, the first words that come to mind when I hear “National Honor Society”. Being chosen for National Honor Society is a great honor, as it has proved that from my childhood till now my hard work has paid off. From the beginning of high school, as a freshman to now a junior, I have always pushed myself to do better, but not better than others, better than myself. I had competition with myself and my past grades, as I emboldened myself to do better than each of my past marking period grades. I heartened myself to get stronger grades, because since the day I found out in freshman year that there was National Honor Society I was determined to get in. The day of my sister’s graduation
Being a potential candidate of the National Honor Society is a distinction that I greatly honor. I wish to be a member of the prestigious group for the various benefits to myself, my school, and my community. Due to my exemplary qualities of a National Honor Society member, I am qualified to be part of the chapter.
As a student at Northvale Public School, I grew up with my older siblings being inducted into an organization called the National Junior Honor Society. I had seen all the hard work and dedication they put into their school work and activities just to get into this society, making me want to be just like them. Then a few weeks ago, I found a note on my desk in the homeroom telling me that I had been nominated to be apart of this society. Through citizenship and character, leadership, and service, I intend on being inducted into the society I have heard so much about. Though it will take a lot of effort this school year, being a part of this society is a dream of mine that I will make sure to come true.
I am honored to be among the students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. I must admit that this is a group that I have been anticipating joining since the beginning of my high school career. I believe that I deserve this honor and this chance because I have worked very hard to get here. The National Honor Society is known for recognizing students with grades and praiseworthy character, I believe that I have both. My grades are a priority at school because when it comes down to it that is what I will be judged on, alongside my character and attitude. In addition, I would be very enthusiastic about gaining new experience in leadership, community activities, and co-curricular activities. When I was a part of National Junior Honor Society I accepted as many opportunities as I could; I participated in activities such as: spray painting recycling trash cans, painting recycling boxes, sorting paper after school, and ringing the bell at Christmas time for the Salvation Army while singing Christmas carols. Furthermore, I should be a National Honor Society member because I make the right choices in everyday life. Many students all over the country make the choice to use drugs, alcohol, or tobacco, but I can honestly say that I do not use any of these substances. Not only are these a danger to personal health but they are a danger to the health of the people around them, and every person making the choice to stay away from these substances keeps the society a little safer and a little healthier. Overall, my academic excellence, ambition, and ability to make impeccable decisions show that I would be an exceptional member of the NHS.
