I am greatly honored to have been recommended to join NJHS. All of the traits of NJHS I have always stood for and represented. My character has always been good. I have always had a good self-esteem, a willingness to help others, an ability to listen to others and give advice. My academic career has been quite good. Currently, I have a GPA of 3.575, according to Powerschool, and have seven 90s and one 100 in my eight classes. I have always succeeded academically and have always been proud of it. My leadership qualities are pretty good. I can lead a team of people without much trouble. I have always been able to show leadership qualities. For example, my group in 5th grade was creating a presentation. I was voted the leader and was able
to get the whole group a 97. My service qualities are mainly qualities from my character. I prefer to help people, specifically teens and children because I can relate them to them. I also don’t mind helping people get their job done. For example, at Senter Park, I like to help the janitors get their job done quicker. My citizenship qualities have hardly ever been questioned. I have always followed the rules and have always tried to help others follow the rules. In NJHS, I will help others, planning and doing community service. I hope you will accept me into NJHS and together, we can grow for the better.
I believe that my academic background has prepared me perfectly to be a member of this great organization. While a student at Syracuse University, I had the opportunity
When my teacher handed out some papers I was surprised that I got one, considering I’m really goofy. The more I look into it, the more I realize how much of a honor it is to even be considered to be selected in the NJHS.
I am exceptionally grateful for this opportunity to possibly be a member of this very prestigious organization. Every day I work tremendously hard to be noticed by both other scholars and my teachers. Now that an opportunity has come, I am truly excited to demonstrate and live by the values of The National Junior Honors Society. I hope to further expose and show both my dedication and want to join arms with my community and my peers and I wish to continue to work with passion and fire to shape the world into a brighter place.
I’m so happy to be given the opportunity to join National Junior Honor Society(NJHS). I would love to be a member. I think it is important for kids to be involved in the community. Also, myself personally it would be an honor to be a face for our school.
Throughout the book I felt connected to one character, that character was George. George and I share similar qualities and our lifestyles can relate. One major characteristic I found in George is his ability to take the initiative in whatever he is doing, therefore showing his sense of leadership qualities. This caught my eye automatically since I am the type of person to stand up and demonstrate my leadership to others. I feel that my leadership quality is very important to who I am. It defines me as being me.
Many words can describe my character, but I feel the a prevalent word would be “trustworthy”. I consider it an honor when someone confides in me, and I make it a priority to keep that trust. For example, I was required complete a test one day early due to a planned absence. My teacher trusted me to not reveal the content of the test, and I stuck to that promise. I had many chances to reveal it, but kept my word as a result of my trustworthiness.
My GPA is a 4.1000 and it teeters between 4.1500 and 4.1000. I haven't ever had a C and my grades are all A’s or A+’s. I also make sure I behave in class, so my work habits grades are also all A’s and A+’s. I’m consistently make sure that I keep my grades where they are and I always am striving for my best. If I do happen to get a grade I'm not fond of, I make sure that as soon as possible I get my grade back up to the desired A or A+. For instance, once I had a complex goal not met, so as soon as I could, I made sure I got my grade up. Now that goal is met and my grade for that quarter is A+. Even in the topics I don't enjoy as much, I make sure I work my hardest. I’m always trying to improve my grade with extra credits and 4.0 opportunities. This shows that I do meet the grade requirement for
National Junior Honor Society as a nation premier organization started to recognize outstanding middle-level students. NJHS is a way to honor students who have demonstrated an extraordinary amount of excellence in the areas of the five pillars which are, scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. This organization that was started in 1929 is a great opportunity for me to show my family and teachers how hard I work to get this far. I am deeply honored to be among the exemplary student who are being considered for this program. This organization the so many great things in society, and knowing that I could potentially be a part of it and play a part in futuring the impression that the organization has already made. I am a determined student, and will do anything to do my absolute best even when something hard is thrown my way. I have always hoped to be a part of something big like National Junior Honor Society, and I hope that this will be my chance to be a part of something big. In my essay I have provided several reasons why you should consider me being on National Junior Honors Society.
Character is often the setting stone on what a person is judged upon. For someone to have character, they must noticeably stand out, and do extraordinary tasks that a normal student would not usually do. From school activities to sports clubs, I myself carry unique characteristics that set me apart from other students.
Throughout my educational career I have always excelled in the classroom. I recently graduated high school, being in the top three percent of my class, all while being a captain in the varsity football team and working full time. My high school GPA was a 4.0, and I received many awards, including First Team All-State for academics. Currently, I have a 3.5 GPA at UTA, while working part time and being involved in various school organizations. Academics are very important for me because it represents a better, more financially stable
Reviewing my leadership qualities, I realized that my existing leadership qualities are same with some leadership traits of Mycoskie in the Big Five Model. Two of my existing leadership qualities is integrity and dependability. When I make a commitment to someone, I know I am able to fulfill it and willing to put in extra time and efforts to accomplish commitment. For example, I promise to become an assistant guitar teacher in the summer course in church every year.
There are many different things I think of when I think of what leadership means to me. My idea of leadership is to be able to inspire others, get them excited to do something, motivate them and set an example to others. I also think that showing respect to others is a key part of leadership. You don’t just need leadership qualities, but you need to be a successful leader. To me being a successful leader is being able to have people follow you and not disrespect you. If you are a great leader your followers start to respect you more. To be a leader you also need to have certain qualities like being sociable, intelligent, have patience to deal with situations. A leader needs to be motivated or they will be a failure. I think I show leader ship all the time inside and outside of school. “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way (John C. Maxwell).
Are you a good leader? A good leader must be articulate so he can understand everyone he leads. A good leader must also be strong minded so he can convince people to do what is right for the group. Last but not least you must be intelligent to one, know what is right for the group and two to back up your other two traits. The best leaders are articulate, strong minded, and intelligent.
Another aspect of leadership includes leadership traits such as being influential and inspirational. There also different contexts of leadership, e.g, leading oneself, leading other individuals, leading groups, leading organizations. Some traits that are often associated with being an effective leader include a measure of intelligence, high energy, self confidence, dominance, and a need for achievement. An effective, charismatic leader must lead by example. That leader must be able to know what is going on, the job or task that is being accomplished, and be able to lead the group into performing the task at hand successfully.
Consequently, anyone can be a leader. A kid can be leading in a school project without a problem. But just because you are a leader that does not mean that you have leadership. Leadership is a characteristic that a person can have and it can be achieved by trust, respecting others, and giving your best effort and in so many more ways. A leader can be rude, disrespectful, and competitive and that leader does not have leadership. Step up and take the role of leadership. It will make a difference in yourself and in the others around you.
