Education is important in my life, because through my education I want to become a successful person . I’m not sure yet what I want to become to be successful, but being motivated, determined, and dedicated is what I’m doing to strive and see the person I can be. To become what I want to become I am first going to have to graduate from high school. And to succeed for me to graduate on time I’m going to be very motivated very dedicated and also very determined to accomplish my goal. Getting through high school for me is a struggle. She’s why I try so hard to succeed to make her happy and also for myself. My family also motivates me by them looking up to me. Because I’m going to be the first in the family to graduate. And if you ask me it’s so much pressure. Because I don’t want to let them down or myself. My family members are already pressuring me by telling me " You better graduate, because we are already getting the graduation gifts and decorations for the party". My education means a lot to me and I take it seriously. Throughout my life I always tried my best to get good grades and achieve my academic goals that I've made for me. "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world" is a quote by the inspirational Nelson Mandela that helps me when I am doing something for school and reminds me to do well. While in M.s.118, I haven't been off the honor roll and I am working towards keeping it that way until I finish middle school, then move on to keeping my grades excellent in high school. I know that there are people with higher averages than me, but I still am determined to do well in school and life as well. Whenever I put my mind to something, I will complete or accomplish what it is I am working towards. Another thing adding towards my academic success is I have not had a single after school detention or suspension in my entire life and I don't engage in things that could possibly get me in trouble.
My purpose and goals in attending college is to make something of my life. It is a good thing. No one wants to be a nobody. But sometimes it takes time in order for one to realize this. & nbsp; Upon graduation from high school, I, like the majority of others high school graduates, had no clue what direction my life was heading or even what I wanted to become.
Regretfully, when I entered high school I did not realize how hard I had to work to get what I wanted. I went to my classes, did my work, but never really pushed myself to my full abilities. I thought that as long as I graduated with decent grades I would be able to get into college and really focus then. But as high school quickly came to an end I realized that I was not as well prepared for college, as I would have liked.
People have very different reasons on why going to college and getting an education is important for them. Some people go to college because that is what is expected of them, and others go because they have nothing else better to do. However, I am interested in going to college and obtaining a good education because it will benefit my family, my country, and me.
Education has played a significant role in both my immediate and long term goals. Without an education I would not be able to reach my long term goal to become an Occupational Therapist.
