My aspirations in life are to obtain a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In addition, I will take The National Board of Public Health Examination to become certified in Public Health. I will acquire the appropriate experiences and knowledge by attending internships and job shadowing fellow public health associates. Secondly, I will further my education to achieve a Master of Science in Public Health to become a Public Health Analyst at The Center for Disease Control and Prevention. In addition, I will pursue to work for a government agency, such as the department of Health and Human Services and become a Public Health Advisor in Maryland. Lastly, I plan to obtain a business degree in Entrepreneurship to obtain the knowledge to open up a health and wellness clinic. This center will allow local residents to achieve physical exercise, mental counseling, receive nutritional facts, and obtain health screenings. Residents may also register in classes and sign up for volunteer work.
Health Administration interests me, in view of the fact that, I can help individuals and families live healthier lives. Also, educate communities about health-related issues. I am interested in issues similar to access to health care, infectious diseases, environmental hazards, violence, and substance abuse. Health Administration also interests me, seeing that, I have a cousin dying of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. He was first diagnosed with Human immunodeficiency virus infection seven years ago, without treatment. He wasn’t aware of his options to get treated and thought there was no way out. He didn’t have any health insurance; therefore, he wasn’t educated about the infection he had ...

I plan to overcome my weakness by practicing math problems and to not feel overwhelmed when I have to attend to a question that requires math expertise. I will acquire math tutors, asks the teacher to explain it in more detail, or even do my own personal research. Performing a group presentation may certainly be difficult for me; However, I can practice at it. I will acquire self-talk to decrease the apprehensiveness going on in my mind. Also, I can try not to worry about what the other group members are thinking while I’m talking. I can go over everything I’m going to present with my group before actually speaking it in front of the audience. Lastly, I can get feedback from the group members to fix any errors that might occur. In closing, I’m a very talented person that works hard and I will put forth all the effort required to accomplish my goals.
After being lost, puzzled, and indecisive for a while now about which health-related career I desire the most, I finally made up my mind and selected a major. I decided to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science after accomplishing an Associate’s Degree in Science, which is an open field filled with opportunities for several health professions. I realized that a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science is the way to go as it enables me to switch back and forth between all of the health occupations that I worship. Down the road, I can even further my education and specialize in a specific domain that I am willing to commit to. In general, Health Science is a major where professionals undergo several tasks such as improving their community’s health and overall wellbeing, get involved in nutrition related conditions, use epidemiological techniques, counteract various infections, and enrich physical and daily health routines.
It is my desire to increase my breadth of knowledge and to serve others in a larger capacity. Following graduation from the nurse practitioner program I would like to be working with a primary care clinic in a rural and underserved area. I have a heart for rural medicine and would love to serve and partner with a community that is in need of primary care providers. My goal would be to encourage patients to take ownership of their health by educating and informing them on healthy lifestyles, diseases, medications, etc. I would also like to help the community become more aware of preventative health. I believe the education of patients goes hand-in-hand with
Health administrators are often invisible to patients, but they play a significant role in establishing programs and environments that facilitate the ethical delivery of care. Ethical leadership and decision-making are key components of a masters in health administration program, and help prepare the next generation of health care leaders to navigate the evolving challenges of health care in the United States. Here are four ethical dilemmas you can expect to face in your career as a health administrator.
Short term, I want to work in a medical facility, preferably a hospital or small clinic, in an administrative and/or clerical position. I would like to do this to gain experience on my resume since I have never worked in a medical field job before. After about five years, I will have my bachelor’s degree and want to be a department head in the hospital or managing a small medical office. My long term goal, after I go on to get my Master’s in Healthcare Administration, would be to open a small donation only clinic available to working parents who can’t afford healthcare insurance for their children. They are able to see a doctor for a short clinical visit for a suggested donation of something like twenty dollars. The staff would be made up of college interns who are in the pediatric or in another medical practicing major with a licensed medical doctor present overseeing the visit. This will help low income working parents to receive care for their child at an affordable rate. However, I know this would be difficult with Obamacare and its laws so hopefully by then, we will be rid of Obamacare. Another long term goal of mine is to manage a hospital or a public health facility. If I am unable to open my own business, I would like to oversee an entire hospital or manage public healthcare in the community I live. Either way, I would be impacting many lives and also be very beneficial to the community in several ways.
As someone who has many aspirations in life, I understand having both long and short-term goals is important. One of my long-term professional objectives includes being a community service manager at a health center. With this I am hoping to work with many other healthcare professionals to coordinate health programs and initiatives to improve the health of communities. Having a background in health promotion alongside the leadership and management skills and the real world experience that I intended to gain from this program will give me all I need to make this
Professional Goals I would like to pursue a career in healthcare administration, which is my ultimate goal. From there, I would like to work in a hospital setting where I can be of assistance to a larger population. Another goal I would like to achieve is earning a master’s degree in healthcare administration. While a bachelor's degree is needed for entry-level positions, a master’s degree can help me advance in my career and provide opportunities to work in certain areas that require this particular degree. Additionally, I would like to improve my communication skills, as it is an essential aspect of healthcare administration.
I have an unquenchable desire to learn and develop the mind. I believe, one of the greatest ways to better care for individuals, families, communities and the population was to pursue the Master of Public Health Program and concentrate on Community Health Education. With the Master of Public Health degree, I can better understand how to implement, plan and evaluate health promotion and disease prevention programs to better serve different communities. I want to pursue a master’s degree to focus on my career interest more in-depth. Choosing to pursue the MPH program is a lifelong self-fulfillment, because there is no greater satisfaction than knowing I am going to wake up every day to improve the lives of people all around the world. Higher education is rewarding and can open the door to greater opportunities. I aspire a career with a purpose, that is why I chose to complete my graduate

I always wanted to be a dentist, but as I advanced in my education, I noticed the injustices in healthcare surrounding me, I realized that I want to dedicate myself to more than just simple office visits, but rather to make an impact in my field and the lives of those around me and I truly believe public health is the greatest tool that enables me to make that impact I desire.
Among the core functions and essential services I would fit within the core function of assessment, and both core functions. As my desire is to obtain a position within an entry level community educator position. It would be pertinent within this position to know, control, prevent communicable diseases, and educate individual’s communities, and groups about good health in order to be able to promote healthy lifestyle choices and mitigate health risks.
My motivation for seeking my Masters in Public Health degree from Benedictine University stems from an interest in undering standing disease, researching, than educating the public about best how to prevent infection. This interest was sparked after watching the 1993 movie And The Band Played On in my 8th grade health class, which focused on the start of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and the scientists and public health officials dealt with the beginning of unknown illness. This was the first time I was ever able to see the research side of disease and infection. Although this movie is somewhat fictionalized and some of the information is now incorrect, I began my interest. Since then in my free time researched illness that affected the human race.
Public Health is the most important aspect of medicine. My studies in Public Health will go a very long way to help me grasp the proper concepts and tools needed to work with the government to bring sustainable solutions to health care problems faced by various communities today. Public Health issues touch almost every family in the USA today. I know that if the health sector was better funded, better equipped, and better managed, with clear and effective policies, this kind of suffering could been avoided. I want to go into public health because I believe strongly that I can contribute not only to my fellow Americans, but also to people all over the world. I anticipate that through proper planning, interventions and implementation of effective policies, one will be able to bring about much-needed change through my work with an NGO or non-profit affiliated with the UN.
My research interests include curing cancer, emotional toll of hospitals on children, and improving methods of administering anesthesia. Curing cancer seems to be a lot of people’s goal, but cancer hits at home for me. The reason I want to find ways to cure cancer or help the body naturally fight against cancer is because my mother underwent chemo when she had breast cancer. My best friend’s mom also had cancer. Whereas my mother’s cancer never came back, my friend’s mom did.
The Schulich Interfaculty MPH Program emphasizes public health leadership, policy and sustainability. What are your career aspirations in public health and how will our MPH facilitate these aspirations?
