I will be talking about a precious object that I refuse to give away. When I was a little kid, I used to play with my car toys and I took care of them. I made sure they were still shiny and worked fine, and the type of cars that I had were mostly muscle cars because I just like how they look. Throughout these years I've kept them in a clean pencil box because it was the only place where I could keep them safe from turning into destroyed cars. Still until now I don't think of giving them up just like that, because those toy cars mean alot to me, they kept me entertained troughout my childhood. I always like to jus get them out of the box every now and then just to remeber how they feel and how they still loo. It takes me back to a kid whenever I get the toy cars out of their box. …show more content…

Initially, the technological toys in question do not teach their owners the importance of responsibility. Consider the following question Frank Mullin poses in his article Love In the Time of Robots: “...what does a child
I felt guilty for throwing away items that were in such good condition, because I know some people would give the world in order to be able to own the stuff I have. The economy has gotten so bad, that it’s almost impossible for somebody to find a job that pays more than simple minimum wage to support themselves, along with a family. My heart aches for people who have to live this way, and I give a lot of respect to the people who can actually do
Reading the story “On dumpster diving” by Lars Eighner it made me feel grateful for my materialistic things, because I would not want to experience dumpster diving to survive. Eighner has led me to question where I place my value. He has made me curious about what treasures could be found in dumpsters. Most of these items have lost their intrinsic value; however, they could hold great personal value. A can of food could mean a meal for someone in need. It has also made me wonder about what I throw away, and if someone has ever discovered what I’ve thrown away and used
Have you ever had a dream your toys came to life? Well that’s what happens in Toy Story and Toy Story 3. In these animations, the toys talk and walk around when their owner Andy isn’t playing with them. Some may think the original movies are the best but one could disagree. Between the two animations, Toy Story 3 is better than Toy Story because of the fascinating plot, the courageous characters and riveting action.
In order to do this we need to have responsibility for our possessions. They are ours, they have value, whether sentimental or monetary, and it is our job to take care of them. If we do not, then our hard earned money has gone to waste or our memories that were attached to it, are simply only alive in our minds. Having things to take care of helps us to have a sense of purpose in life, and teaches us responsibility to care for what is ours. Both important virtues that help us grow and discover ourselves when we have tangible objects that belong to and are cared for by
other people’s possessions. Many times they will do anything to get a hold of what it is they want from
...t to this becuase, when I was a sophomore I got my liscence and always have been asking for a car but never got one, but at the end of sophomore year I got one but I wasnt satisifed, so middle of junior year I had to get a more affordable car, I went from mercedes to dodge. Once I got the dodge I realized that my mercedes was perfect. So I now know that you never know what you have tll you lose it.
When a parent tells a little five year old to, “Put that back where you found it,” they give back whatever game or toy they took and everyone is happy. Once a child becomes a teenager, they should know the difference between right and wrong. They know not to steal. Sadly, greed can get the best of us and we end up taking someone else’s work or possessions. If we could remember to “put
Another thing to note is that that a good car deserves a choice place in our lives. I am not advocating the need for a very expensive Car but one that would

The things that are life altering, the things that act as deciders of fate, those are the things that are most precious. These objects are found by people every single day, whether they realize it at the time or not. They are the things people hope to run across again. “I’ve long had the fantasy that I’ll come across a gold, glitter-seat Sting-Ray at a local flea market” (Roach 274). They are the things that people show to their children, hoping that they too will connect with them, although they rarely do. “…we made a special detour to Sarasota to show them the pay phone. It didn’t impress them much” (Frazier 375). They are the things that cannot be taken by anybody. They often seem as if they are fleeting, but they are, in fact,
My love for reading and my books, shows there are unique children out there who still enjoy fundamentals outside of the classroom. The ashes from my first dog, heidi, hold a piece of me, the enjoyment I get from playing with her pups is undescribable, it’s almost as if she is still here with me afterall, we all have a playful side we need to show. Though there are many personal properties of mine, that can represent me as a person, but I choose these ones, the most thoughtful and meaningful items.
Aside from my phone and laptop, I have my iPad that is used for when I am relaxing back at my dorm room, where I play games, watching Netflix and YouTube, and perusing the internet. The school library offers me a place to go for free, where I can check out books, complete my homework, and have access to computers that are available for students. Books are a way in which I can keep myself entertained, learn about other people and places, and get lost in new worlds. The next material object in my possession, is my toy collection. This may be laughable, but it makes me happy.
With convenience comes cost. There are many costs associated with owning a car. Firstly learning to drive can be prohibitive, with lessons often out of a lot of peoples budgets. Once you have passed your test buying a car can also prove expensive. It is often the case we have to buy cheap second hand cars as new cars are very expensive. Sometimes this is fine and you can have a reliable car, but other times you pick one up that’s not been well maintained and can cost you a fortune in repairs and keeping it on the road.
