I started to play tennis when I was a little boy, and I did not think about a tennis career and about reaching big goals in my future. I went through difficulties and I had determination to reach these goals. It was hard to leave my family and to move to another city and play tennis because practice was a hard sport, a hard practice, and a hard life. This part of my life was significant for me and for my father because I did not give up during my hard period when I had trouble with tennis, and when I came to study in Austin Peay State University.
I can remember now everything that happened during my first practice with my father when I was six-years-old child. He came after work to pick up me from home, and I did not know where we were going. We came to the tennis courts for the first time. It was a hot summer day. Around the courts was a lot of nature and a lot of buildings. The courts were near our city center and I thought that he just came to talk with some friends. Usually I wore sport clothes which is why I did not expect that we would go play. My father told me to pick up a racquet. I asked him why, and he told me that we would play tennis. I chose the best racquet and then he took a lot of balls, and we went to play. For the first 20 minutes, it

I quit tennis. After three weeks, I understood that I could not give up, and I should keep moving forward and try to reach what I want. I went to another city one more time. I changed my coach, and it was a better choice. He was a better coach who kne my errors, and he knew how to fix my technique and my game. He helped me a lot in that period when it was hard for me. I was tried to keep moving and try to reach my
Being experienced to being a member of the tennis team has prepared me and made me realize the importance of never giving up when times are rough and caring for others during difficult times. I know these techniques will indeed come in handy with life and furthermore lead me to my goal.
In a world where winning is paramount, it's easy to get carried away in your quest to succeed. Too often, individuals become so focused on winning that they forget that they are competing against actual human beings with actual feelings. Those not personally involved in a match only notice whether you win or lose. However, being a great player is so much more than just winning. My tennis coach emphasizes the three keys to being a great player; effort, attitude, and sportsmanship. Throughout my high school career I’ve tried my very best to embody these traits. The best example I can think of in which I exemplified each of these traits was earlier this year. Nice intro!
Some people may think that tennis is just a blow off sport, that it doesn’t take any talent, and anyone can do it. I started playing tennis about 4 years ago and I remember how hard it was to learn. One of my best friends and I started playing together and his dad had taught him how to play, when he first started teaching me I got really frustrated because I would keep hitting the ball out and I found out that playing and coaching tennis was much harder than it seemed.
The following instructions apply to right-handed players as well as left-handed players with the slight adjustment in the use of opposite hands and feet. Before you begin to serve the ball, you would have to stand behind the baseline, on the opposite side of the service box. If you are serving towards your opponent’s right service box, you should be standing on the right side of your court. ...
Coming towards what most likely is the end of my tennis career, I have begun to reminisce on how I have adapted and grown as a player. I think one of my biggest growth periods in my game came after I really started to focus more on my mental tennis. It is one of those things that you don 't think about much when you are just learning the game but becomes an essential part of developing into a better player.
I knew that I needed my own bowling ball and equipment just so I could get better at this sport. My mom supported me and my sister all the way while making this choice to improve ourselves. She finally took me and my sister to get our first bowling balls, there was no greater feeling in the world then what I was feeling. It was like I had just won the lottery and nothing could ever stop me from conquering this spot I was getting the equipment I needed
Tennis players dream of walking onto the court with a crowd supporting them, whether it be teammates or dedicated fans. Some tennis players will come face to face with professional athletes before turning twenty-two, while others will stick to playing college tennis. The reason why many college tennis players strive towards becoming professional athletes is because they are passionate enough about tennis to call it a career. Even incoming college players are debating whether to represent their university or join the professional tour after graduating high school. Universities do not provide players with financial support, which leads to the thought of tennis being nothing more than a hobby. Athletes will spend forty-three hours weekly practicing
After injuries ended my father’s tennis career, he picked up the game of golf. I tagged along when I could after school, and we would play a few holes most evenings. The slow pace of the game created an atmosphere where communication at his pace seemed normal, my anxious eight-year-old self began to listen to his great stories and advice. My father and myself were becoming best friends through the game of golf.
It was like living a dream. He took me out to dinner, met my parents –
One of the earliest memories I have of my father is when he would take me to the park and we would play baseball. My father was eager to teach me everything he knew about the game, and I was eager to learn. He took it easy on me at first, allowing me to overcome my fear of being hit by the ball. Each time we went back to the park he would throw the ball a little harder. It was not long before I could catch almost anything he threw at me. My father also used his knowledge of the game to teach me to hit a baseball. Eventually, I was skilled enough to play any position on a baseball team.
Mathematical Exploration “Calculating the impact of change in probability of winning a point on the probability of winning the match.” Candidate Name: Rohan Ketan Dhamsania Candidate number: 003436-0017 Session: November 2014 School: The Galaxy School Mathematics SL. INTRODUCTION Tennis is a game, which rewards skill and technique. The role of ‘winning by chance’ is minimized in tennis, in fact Pete Sampras, a tennis legend, had said, “The difference between great players is at a certain point in a match they raise their level of play and maintain it.”
I can vividly remember back when I was on the High school tennis team at 17 years old, going from school to school and competing at high temperatures. A leisure sport but also an intense sport especially in a competitive age. I remember talking with my coach, also my math calculus teacher, about how to improve my game. My first year playing tennis with a year
The Evolution Of Tennis When most unknowing people hear the word “tennis” they think of old people hitting a ball over a net in shorts with wooden racquets, a common stereotype among today’s youth. Not many think of the image of Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer, both outstanding players, violently hitting and running across the court to cover the ball. Of course, the era of wooden racquets was not too long ago. However, the truth is that the sport of tennis has greatly revolutionized due to new racquet technology, new advanced tennis balls, more spin, and stronger, taller, and fitter generations.
When I was four, I received my first Fisher Price basketball court. The court was in my house and the basket was only five feet tall. My parents placed it in the living room since it was the only room in the house without carpet. I practiced shooting every day. I would wear my father’s sneakers and imitate basketball moves that I had seen on T.V. At that age, I did not yet have any self-awareness about my potential for the sport, but my father knew it was very likely to become a passion. By the age of five, my father was taking me out to the park with a basketball and I can actually remember the day I made my first basket. After that, I went on to play in basketball leagues, as well as work out with my father in gyms every night. Those were the best of times.
When I was about seven years old my dad wanted me to go out for basketball so I tried out, he is one of the most athletic people I know. Well ever since he had me go out for basketball I have been doing sports then when I want to give up when I can’t make that perfect lay up or when I can’t make that perfect over hand serve he will sit there and help me do it till I get it done and done right. My dad also taught me how to play half my spor...
