Logan, Erick Mrs. Holloway Class ll 13 December, 2016 I Am Thankful…. Life goes around fast so you must cherish every second you have. I am thankful for many things , but the things I'm most thankful for are my family that encourages me and helps me become a better person. I'm also thankful for and grateful for health that helps me live. Also Food which also helps me survive.Family, health, and food are the things I'm grateful and thankful for. One thing that I am thankful for is my family. Also my pet dogs Katrina and Oreo. Katrina is a German Shepherd and Oreo is a Poodle mixed with a terrier. Last but certainly not least my sisters Jocelyn and Dairely. Who I love and care for. Another thing I'm thankful for is health.
give thanks to those that loved and cared for us, many times because they are already gone, and
Common curtesy has us saying “Thanks” to the point that we may have lost the intentions associated with the response. W.S. Merwin sums up this anomaly in his poem “Thanks”, saying “with nobody listening we are saying thank you” (Merwin 29). We say thanks for so many meaningless things that it no longer carry’s the true intent of the speaker. Instead it is a response to acknowledge the receiver rather than giving true thanks. This repetition allows for questions regarding what are we truly thankful for, and how we make this known to the receiver. Carl Dennis, in his poem, “Thanksgiving Letter From Harry”, struggles with this question. Not seeing himself thankful for all the negative atrocities around him, he tries to find something he can stand up and be thankful for with limited success, “I’m, thankful today I don’t reside in a country/My country has chosen to liberate” (Dennis 2-3). Generic overuse of such a simple, but meaningful word, has made saying “thanks” somewhat mundane, making it harder to express their gratitude to the receiver seamlessly.
Forever will I be thankful for the love he gave me, and even more so for the family he left me with. Collectively, we have been and will be loved more than I personally could have ever asked for, by my grandfather and by each other.
I’m thankful for child labor reforms that were developed throughout history allowing me not to have to work in such harsh conditions. These reforms allow me to obtain an education to strive in society today.
Thankfully I survived all the challenges I need to pass. I'm no one right now without my family, friends, teachers and specially God. So I want to say thank you for making me who I am. Thank you for making my days here on earth even more special. I maybe not perfect but thank you for making my life worth it.
During thanksgiving I really like to reflect on everything I have and it’s just a great way to remind myself to be more generous and to hold what and who I love dearly and show them that I care about them. Especially during this time of year when everything can be very stressful with the end of the semester and some mid terms, it gives me a chance to think on the less fortunate who don’t even get an education and would love the chance to get what I have. I’m so thankful for my availability to music and the abundance of caring people in my life with so many opportunities for me right at this moment. I realize that a lot of people take everything they have for granted and honestly everyone does this from time to time, I really like to just bluntly tell people that I care about them and that I’m thankful for them to be in my life at this point, even if it's just to remind myself to be more grateful towards them. Just think about what you have and be grateful for the good
Once in a while everyone has had the thought of what it would feel like to be the last man or woman on Earth. Having the world and everything in it for yourself with no one around to bother you as u enjoy the luxuries you never had. What people fail to realize is the loneliness, despair and darkness of the so called utopia that they imagine. Richard Matheson, the author of I Am Legend, brings this dark idea into life by writing a story narrating Robert Neville’s life as the last human on earth. I Am Legend is often connected with the actor Will Smith, and his incredible representation of Robert Neville, the protagonist in the novel. However, most people don’t give enough recognition to Richard Matheson for creating the storyline and being the writer of the original novel. Both, Richard Matheson’s post-apocalyptic science fiction novel, and Francis Lawrence’s post-apocalyptic science fiction movie have many similarities and differences. The movie once again like many others fails to live up to the novel, mainly because of too many alterations in the characters, and story that leaves readers disappointed.
Gratitude is many things to many people. It is wonder; it is appreciation; it is looking at the bright side of things; it is abundance; it is thanking someone; it is "counting blessings." It is savoring; it is not taking things for granted; it is present-oriented. The average person often associates gratitude with saying thank you for something they received or a kind gesture. However, gratitude is much broader. I invite you to consider its numerous benefits and how you can regularly incorporate the practice of gratitude in your life.
Gratitude often works best where you would least expect it to. Perhaps you can show appreciation or be grateful to a friend or family member, or you have seen a beautiful tree or flower that brightens your day, perhaps appreciate your favourite song, or a really good hug... you will be surprised how many things you will find that you can appreciate and be grateful for everyday!
Big or small, write down as many things you can for which you are truly grateful. This should bring genuine feelings of gratitude in you otherwise it is of no use.
Trust is a strange thing; it can be given easily, taken with reason, and once lost will forever alter a relationship. As strange as it is, it is very difficult to come by, more so when it comes to complete strangers. In Langston Hughes’s short story “Thank you M’am,” the main character Mrs.Luella Bates Washington Jones demonstrated a true act of generosity when she fed Roger, the young boy who attempted to steal her purse, trusted Roger after his act of rebellion, and gave Roger the money even though she was not able to afford it. Though Mrs.Luella Bates had just enough food to provide for herself, she so willingly took in the adolescent and fed him her food.

...s thank you to others makes them incredibly happy. We also must express gratitude for ordinary things such as a beautiful blue sky during the daytime or sparkling stars at night. Get in the habit of finding at least 10 things to be grateful for each day to increase your happiness level.
I am grateful for my life in many ways and for many reason, I was born 5 weeks premature and one of twins. Though my twin did not survive long enough for me to know him it gave me a purpose to try new things. Whenever I am scared of a new experience such as snow-boarding I think about how lucky I am to be alive and well. This thought helps me to spread my wings and embrace the unknown. Even simple things make me feel thankful, such as running in the rain or taking a walk with my dog or just a lazy Sunday afternoon with myself makes me think how great it is to be alive and here. I have always delight in the small moments in life and to think that they could never exist for me is depressing. Furthermore, being able to share my thoughts and feeling with people I love is something that brings me great joy.
I am beyond thankful for my family, however I am especially blessed to have the five I look up to most. It is because of them that I am who I am today. They have all taught me something that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I could not ask for better role models, and most importantly, a better family.
