I am Mana Patel, a 6th grader at Triangle Math and Science Academy. If I am accepted into the prestigious team of the National Junior Honor Society, then I would like to be the cause for many beneficial events, one of which I would like to share through this essay.
Numerous children in the world live in orphanages and foster cares, where neither do they get proper education nor do they get parental and family love. The service event that I would like to propose is called a Storybook Drive.
In this occasion, students in grades 5-12 compete to write the best short book for kids of ages 5-8 that they can. After the competition victors are announced, all the stories can be donated to multiple local orphanages, foster centres, and specialized
academies. I can be a leader and role model in this event by making posters, brochures, and advertising this event through the whole school. I could also expound to students why this is so important. I would also participate in the competition, as it is unjust to only instruct and not do any labor or work. In order for this competition to work, we first have to spread word of this competition and give a due date. Then, we would have ELA teachers read all the pieces of writing and choose 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners out of 2 divisions; grades 5-8 and 9-12 Finally, after contacting local child service centres, we can donate the books. We would bring so many smiles to young lives. This event is very important to our school and the society. Even if students going to TMSA are too young to participate, they can get inspired to do something good like this when they are bestowed the opportunity. I would like to be part of the National Junior Honor Society because it will be a massive and uplifting learning experience. I will build a personality and character that will help me succeed. I will be the best student, friend, and person that I can possibly be.

National Technical Honor society is a prestigious club. Having the opportunity to apply for this prestigious society had left one honored. Being in such a prestigious program will open many more doors, and give one more opportunity to succeed in the future. I feel that all the candidates for this prestigious program have the grades and are all capable of being part of this program, but I also feel that by describing my unique set of skills I can merit membership into National Technical Honor Society and be a beneficial member.
During 2017, the fall of my senior year, we held elections for National Honor Society President. I was one of the members selected and later got elected into the position. This position has taught me the importance of quality leadership in order for the success of a program along with how to prioritize my time and stay organized while helping to engage members to enable them to be the best people they can be. Throughout my months as president, I have contributed experience, advice, and leadership alongside hours and hours of time put into an array of projects benefiting both the school and the community as a whole. Experiencing this event which has influenced both my leadership and service to my community has influenced my future plans through
Next year, as I embark my first year at university, I hope to fully integrate myself into the community by getting involved in the Students' Union, joining the cheer team, volunteering where I can and making many new friends along the way. At university, I hope to maintain a high grade point average, granted that my education is extremely important to me and that I am extremely ambitious about achieving my goals. Therefore, I will commit lots of my time to my studies in hopes of being a successful student. Nevertheless, I am still looking forward to being a part of the community by devoting my extra time to helping those around me. In classes, I intend on being an active learner, a respectful student, and a helpful classmate; someone who is always willing to lend a hand to others. Through engaging in my community, I hope to bring joy to others around me by spending my time supporting local events, volunteering for fundraisers, and helping plan and organize campus activities.
I would be an excellent choice to be a member of the National Junior Honor Society because I show service, leadership, character, and citizenship. It is an amazing opportunity anyone is lucky to have, and I am more than happy to accept it. I love helping people, being able to feel accomplished knowing I put a smile on someone’s face. Being in the National Junior Honor Society, I’d love to share my ideas and thoughts on how to make the world a better place.
After a four week survey of a multitude of children’s book authors and illustrators, and learning to analyze their works and the methods used to make them effective literary pieces for children, it is certainly appropriate to apply these new skills to evaluate a single author’s works. Specifically, this paper focuses on the life and works of Ezra Jack Keats, a writer and illustrator of books for children who single handedly expanded the point of view of the genre to include the experiences of multicultural children with his Caldecott Award winning book “Snowy Day.” The creation of Peter as a character is ground breaking in and of itself, but after reading the text the reader is driven to wonder why “Peter” was created. Was he a vehicle for political commentary as some might suggest or was he simply another “childhood” that had; until that time, been ignored? If so, what inspired him to move in this direction?
As a student at Northvale Public School, I have grown up with my older siblings being inducted into an organization called the National Junior Honor Society. I had seen all the hard work and dedication they put into their school work and activities just to get into this society, making me want to be just like them. Then a few weeks ago, I found a note on my desk in homeroom telling me that I had been nominated to be apart of this society. Through citizenship and character, leadership, and service, I intend on being inducted into the society I have heard so much about. Though it will take a lot of effort this school year, being a part of this society is a dream of mine that I will make sure to come true.
I was very excited when I heard that I had been invited into National Junior Honors Society. The first time I heard of NJHS, it instantly became a goal of mine. When my older sister left for college I was very sad, so I think that this is a way for me to keep a part of her. I have always been that little girl no one understood, because I’m always very excited to learn and get back to school after summer break. I’m very happy to see that I’ve been invited, but this is why I should be accepted.

Few books, especially those meant for children, are as deep as this one. The fact that the book ends on a hopeful note should only add to its virtue. The Giver helps us realise why our world, with all its imperfections, is beautiful.
Throughout my first year in middle school I have really started taking great thought into my future. I have realized that I am getting closer to my adult life and that I need to start to plan for the type of future that I wish to have. As much as I enjoy team activities, I do think of myself as more of a leader and would like to go about planning my career in this way. I am determined to go about things at an advanced pace which is why I believe I should be part of the National Junior Honor Society.
Describe how the four pillars of National Honor Society shaped your development. How will you apply these pillars to your future goals?
I am honored to be recognized as one of the students to be considered for the National Junior Honor Society. I believe that this organization has done great things for the community and I would like to help in doing so. It has been my goal all year to become National Junior Honor Society member, and now I am granted the chance to achieve my yearlong goal.
Being nominated to be an active member in the National Honor Society is an accomplishment in itself. It shows that I am striving, and continuing to show my strengths on a daily basis. I have achieved the goal to maintain my grades while also being very active within our community. I have also strove to be the best possible person I can be, and that truly shows through my love of the game: basketball. I have been a member of the basketball team for three years. This team has taught me a lot about unity. I try to bring what I learn on the court to my everyday lifestyle. It has taught me how to work well with others, and solve conflicts when necessary. Being on the team has also shown me that you can’t go through life alone. I always try to be
