Hunting is beneficial for the environment because it helps the animal population from becoming too high or out of control and possibly spreading diseases. Another reason hunting is helpful, it provides a food source for many hunters. For these reasons, local government agencies should encourage regulated hunting. Hunting is a way of life in America. We hunt because we love nature and it's always been in our history. without hunting we wouldn't have thanksgiving or a way to cope with nature(Hunting note). There are some people that depend on hunting wildlife to live. Now there are rules and guidelines For hunting. You can't just go out and kill anything and everything you want to whenever you want. Every type of wild animal that has not been …show more content…
Some are not because of people poaching those certain animals(Poaching). Their are hunting seasons and laws only because ignorant people just hunt and kill or trap and kill animals for fun, this is called poaching animals. Which is killing animals illegally, and this is unacceptable. If a person or persons cannot hunt for a simple reason of warmth from the fur and putting food on their table for their family to be healthy instead of eating factory meat that has been doused in chemicals. Hunting is much less cruel than factory farming(H.A.P). If hunted the animal feels less pain than three months of torture from factory farming. Hunting also helps with diseases spreading from animal to animal. If an animal is killed and it turned out to have some sort of disease than there is a part of the disease cut out right there. Now certain types of diseases can be seen just by looking at the …show more content…
There are valuable resources in every environment, more so in the country than in a city(H.A.P).wild animals is one of the resources that can be very useful In our society. Hunting also helps the environment by regulating the animal population so that there is not an overpopulated animal species. Let us take the deer population, for instance. If the deer population gets too high, then we find there to be many more accidents involving vehicles on the road hitting deer that are trying to cross the road and taking human lives as well as deer lives, therefore we put in hunting seasons. Regulating what seasons and how much that one person is able to get is another crucial regulation that most don't follow anymore. Hunting seasons help keep population counts down, but also makes it to where the animal population doesn’t get too low. A hunting season begins after mating season is over so that deer can repopulate, but at the same time hunters keep the numbers from being too high. Population was at its all time low in the 1900’s being at less than 5 million in the population count. (Deer
And subsequently, new policies and laws are created to give people equal access to wildlife. The question regard conservation is very much alive today. And United State needs conservation of wildlife. And the Federal department responsible for conservation, department of the interior are under attack with President Trump new budget plan. So it’s important to keep pushing for better laws and policies to protect
The money can go to conservation clubs. There are even multiple clubs who rely completely on funds from hunts. It could also help the local economy because of tourism and money from the hunts. However, “only 3 percent of the money spent by trophy hunters winds up in the hands of local people” ("Studies Show There Are Many Sides in the African Lion-hunting Debate”) If only three percent of the money goes back to the community, then it is not making a large impact on the community. Some also claim that big game hunting draws in money from tourism by the hunters. However, “It made up only 1.2 percent of all tourism money in South Africa and 2.3 percent in Tanzania.” ("Studies Show There Are Many Sides in the African Lion-hunting Debate”) People are claiming that hunters are dragging in money for tourism, but most of the tourism income does not come from hunters. Instead, it comes from people on safaris who truly cherish these animals and do not want to see them go
We live in the human society that animal becoming extinct, more people hunting animal just for fun like animal is just another toy to people chase around until the animal exhaust and then kill them, animal they have feeling just like humans. If we have guns control law is most likely no hunting anymore, we don’t need to hunt animal for food to survive. Many people kill animal just for their skin and fur. If humans continue killing innocent animal is will cause extinction to many animal. States with hunting law are less
Imagine driving through Madison on back roads, when a big group of deer run across the road. Then we just barely make it through without hitting a deer. Shorter hunting seasons can cause more deer to be hit by cars. That’s why hunting seasons should be longer.
When many people think of hunting they think of cruel, evil people senselessly killing innocent animals. What they don’t realize is that hunting is a passed down tradition and a way for people to bond with others who share a love for the sport. There are two main types of hunting: bowhunting and hunting with a rifle. There are strict rules and regulations that apply to hunting, so someone can’t just go out and start shooting up all the animals. Before anyone can hunt, they have to pass a class and a field test in order to get their license. Without a license, you can’t buy tags. A tag is a paper that you buy in order to be able to kill an animal. You can hunt many different types of animals from birds to bears, but in this essay I will be talking specifically about big game. Big game is referred to as deer, elk, bear, and cougar. Although many people believe that big game hunting should be banned in the United States, they overlook the fact that hunting does more good than harm.
Hunters will keep passing on there knowledge of hunting and the environment to their kids and anyone else that would like learn about this. The ecosystem is very important to keeping our world in good health. Hunters will keep being the savior of the wilderness as long as groups such as the SEIRRA and PETA do not interfere too much. When there is a huge Elk in a meadow, or a doe taking her fawns for a walk remember that moment was sponsored my your local outdoorsman.
Hunters contribute more than any other group to help maintain and keep wildlife habitat. According to this trusted source on hunting, “In 1907, only forty-one thousand elk remained. There are now over one million” , hunters are the reason these elk populations have improved. This hunting source also says, “In 1900, only five-hundred thousand whitetails remained. Hunters have now raised that number to thirty-two million” , hunters protect deer so they can continue to hunt them and keep the population strong and healthy. Waterfowl hunters fight to keep habitat for the ducks and geese to live and thrive in their area. This fact proves the ...
Therefore, it affects their ecosystem, and the animals’ families. Overall, the evidence proves trophy hunting hurts the environment, specifically conservation. Therefore, the hunters’ idea that trophy hunting actually helps conservation by killing predators to maintain balance, is merely false.
First, hunters are the biggest contributors to those wildlife agencies that are designed to help the wildlife
Hunting demonstrates the ability to protect and provide mainly referred to males providing their families with meat from the animals and protecting their land. (“Modern Hunters Are Stewards of Wildlife and the Environment.”) The economy today is very unsustainable and hunting is the key to feeding the hungry. (“Modern Hunters Are Stewards of Wildlife and the Environment.”) There are many food banks today that will accept the meat provided by animals and feed hungry organizations that cannot buy food themselves. What most people don’t know is most of the money used by hunters that go towards hunting licenses, hunting tags, and hunting lotteries to hunt in particular spots go to wildlife research and habitat protections in that hunters home state. With approximately 12.5 million hunters in the World today a lot more money gets sent to these organizations than people would ever think. Overall, hunting is a positive force because it provides an economic motive for maintaining wildlife habitats. This keeps animals in their own habitats and away from people and their homes as much as possible. Some see this sport very cruel and un-humane but overall it is helping this World out way more than people think. If we didn’t have people who hunt or knew how to hunt we would be very reliant on other foods. Such as farming fruits and vegetables, which could go extinct if something devastating happens. We wouldn’t have the protein and vitamins needed in the meat we eat. Hunting is very necessary, and everyone should know how to hunt or learn soon. It’s helpful now, and will be very helpful in the future if there is a reason we can’t rely on cattle for meat anymore. We will have to figure out other ways to get meat, and without hunting it is very unlikely that
Those who oppose hunting as it stands today, please step forward. The question whether if hunting is helping or hurting our environment has been an ongoing yet debatable issue for a little while now. A variety of arguments have been made about this issue. It is definitely a big issue because it concerns the well-being of many different people nationwide. Mainly it raises attention to the moral and economic questions, as well as the pros and cons, dealing with the way we utilize our native wildlife.
People today use hunting as a sport. Of course, not everyone agrees with hunting, but those who like to hunt justify their actions by saying that they are helping with the overpopulation of animals, like deer. The truth is that we are affecting the population of animals. Animal overpopulation can be due to the loss of an animal’s natural predator. Predators are extremely important in an ecosystem, and they are nature’s way of controlling the animal population. In William Stolzenburg’s book, Where the Wild Things Were: Life, Death, and Ecological Wreckage in a Land of Vanishing Predators, he addresses the importance of predators in an ecosystem. He discusses an experiment done by a zoologist named Robert T. Paine. Paine decided to do an experiment to see what happens when one disrupts an ecosystem. He conducted his experiment on rocks along the shore in which a species of starfish was the top predator. Paine’s experiment consisted of grabbing the starfish off the rocks and throwing them into the ocean. His results showed that one single species has a tremendous effect on its ecosystem. After getting rid of the top predator, about half of the species that
Hunting for sport is legal, and should remain that way. Many arguments against hunting for sport claim it is a “violent form of recreation” and “we have no right to take an animals life” for example, an opposing viewpoints article “Sport Hunting is an Unnecessary Form of Cruelty to Animals” says just that. HoweverI argue that we are part of this planet, as well as it’s ecosystem. We are (in ways) predators. An article on sport hunting, “Hunting for Sport” compares “hunters and the hunted” to a mountain lion and a deer. Is the lion at fault for hunting the deer? No. The mountain lion’s duty is to play the role as predator as well as keeping it’s prey’s population away from its ecosystems capacity. The ecosystem can no longer always support and control all animals populations.
This article goes into detail as why people who hunt think of it as more than a sport. This to me is the best article that goes into why hunting is such a big part of the word we live in today and why we need to preserve it. A “Sport hunter” far from just a sport. A “Sport Hunter” can go the Theodore Roosevelt These people who “Sport Hunt” are their to make sure animals are on the earth and continue to strive. “What I’m interested in is making my hunting comprehensible to others. And in a world like ours, where discussions of hunting are already full of pitfalls and confusions, “sport” and “recreation” only get in the way.”(Cerulli 2011) This quote to me explains to me why people are so frustrated and believe that people who hunt have the wrong intentions. Their whole life they have seen social media say hunting 's killing the earth and animals are going extent because of hunter. I believe many people are to close minded with hunting, and do not explore the reasons why people hunt and what it means to the people that
If this trend continues, by the year 2055, the number of species which are hunted could be increased. reduced by as much as 81 percent. (Satchell 31) Not only does hunting reduce the number of animals, it can also be unnecessarily cruel to the creatures. When deer are bowhunted, they often are. not instantly killed by the snare.
