There is no denying the fact that The Hunger Games and Battle Royale have their similarities and differences that may be argued. From my perspective, there are only a couple minor and, distinguishing traits that actually may separate the two. The utmost similarity, that is obvious to anyone that has seen the two movies is the fact that they are all kids/teens, fighting to the death, with only to have one person remaining. To put into simpler words, Hunger games is a cheaper imitation and more “kid friendly” than Battle Royale. As for the differences; The setting, the games, and the violence are a few key differences between the two that demonstrate distinct traits but, ultimately are still able to be tied together. The already outlined plot for the story is similar for both. A dystopian future,requiring adolescents fighting to the death til there is only one victor left. Beginning with The Hunger Games, The setting takes place in the country of “Panem” which is made up of two separate countries but, there was a quarrel between the countries which caused one of the districts to be completely eliminated. Yet is still not enough to make a dramatic difference when relating them. The Hunger Games is seen through the viewpoint of a specific person, which is Katniss. So the main focal point is not only on the violence, but her internal conflicts as well. As for Battle Royale, Violence is the main essence, and centerpiece of the entire movie. Depending on a person's certain point of view, many can argue that Battle Royale had some more graphic and gruesome deaths while The Hunger Games was a little more PG-13, but that is not to say that the deaths of some of the characters in The Hunger Games were not Gruesome because, they
