The film “The Hunger Games” directed by Gary Ross is base on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins. It takes place in a fictional world, in the country of Panem. After a civil war the whole country was split in twelve different districts and one Capitol. Every year, each district must offer a man and a woman between the ages of 12 and 18, to serve as tribute for the so-called hunger games; an event enforced onto the twelve districts by the capitol, where the tributes from all districts are force to fight each other to death until only one tribute is left alive. The hunger games should stop the districts from starting another civil war. The story begins on the selection day of the 74th hunger games. The protagonist is a 16-year-old girl …show more content…
Peeta and Katniss get split. Peeta teams up with the four tributes from the top districts, 1 and 2. The five of them try to find and kill Katniss. While trying to avoid the other tributes, Katniss distance herself from the others and gets caught in a forest fire, caused by the monitors of the games. Peeta and the tributes from district 1 and 2 end up tracking Katniss down, and in order to flee she ends up climbing a tree. However, they had seen her and decided to wait for her. Later, as they were falling asleep, Rue, a little girl from district 11, told Katniss she should cut a Wasp nest next to her and throw it to the sleeping tributes. As soon as the nest fell, hundreds of wasps stung the tributes, which caused them to flee, however, the girl from district 1 died.
Katniss and Rue decide to team up. As Katniss destroys the food of district 1, 2, and Peeta, Rue gets caught. Katniss tries to rescue her; however, she gets killed by the male from district 1. Afterwards, Peeta was kicked out of the team, and ends up getting hurt by the others. Katniss eventually finds Peeta and they team up. Seeing that Peeta needs help, Katniss risks her life to get medicine for him. Katniss and Peeta get their hope back, as a new rule was announced. This year there could be two winners instead of one. Which meant they could both survived should they kill the
The Hunger Games was a good movie when it came out. This movie refers to a dystopia world in which there are 12 districts and a capitol who rules with an iron fist, in which the districts must provide a tribute to fight in an annual Hunger Game as a punishment for a past rebellion. Katniss Everdeen is a hunter from the 12th district, which Gale, her friend gives her tips on hunting. One day her sister, Primrose Everdeen, is chosen for the Hunger Games, and in order to save her, she volunteers instead to serve in the Games along with Peeta Mellark. During a TV interview, Peeta confesses her love for Katniss Everdeen, which causes the enragement of the latter; however, she later forgives him as he explains to her that it was only to gain sponsors. During the Hunger Games, she did not receive a lot of supplies except some medicine to cure a wound, but Districts 1 and 2 almost won the Game due to their training, and amount of supplies which Katniss destroys but cannot recover any of them. The Hunger Games was one of the best movies I ever watched because it has a little bit of everything and it captures the real-life survival game that we live on a daily basis.
While Katniss is in the training center searching for her signature weapon to prove to the capitol that she can overcome this obstacle, she finds out just how challenging it will be to win the capitol and president snow over. Katniss' Approach was to prepare herself for all of the hardships she will have to face. She will be able to find her strength from her mentor, family, and the other person chosen for district twelve- Peeta. After Katniss and Peeta are able to meet and chat with their mentor, Haymitch they set out on their journey on the hunger games. Katniss and Peeta are separated just like every other district. All of the victors whom are full of distress, wait anxiously for the countdown to enter the arena. While waiting Katniss is scanning the scene looking around at who could possibly be her Allies. Once the clock hits zero Katniss races to find supplies. After a restless run in the woods and several confrontations Katniss is exhausted and tries to find a safe spot to take a break. Katniss dozed off and when she wakes she finds that she is covered camouflaged with leaves. She also noticed a bow and arrow laid next to her which luckily for her was her signature weapon. She then nervously looks around trying to put two and two together. Who would be so kind to bring her some materials and cover up to ensure her safety? She heard some rustling noises around a tree and carefully walks over there to find the Trickster, Rue from district 11. Katniss cautiously approaches Rue confirming that she would not be harmed. Katniss and Rue began to form a friendship. Rue looked up to Katniss and Katniss looked to Rue as a little sister. They both have an equal amount of admiration for each other. Shortly after Rue's death, it is announced that two victors may be crowned if both originate from the same district.
Katniss Everdeen of The Hunger Games is called to adventure at the competition's yearly lottery. When Katniss' sister’s name, Prim, gets called, Katniss volunteers to take her place. Once she leaves her home and sent to the capital to start training for the Games, Katniss meets her mentor. Before the competition, she meets her mentor, Haymitch. He helps her by providing advice on how to survive in the competition.
When her and her ally and love interest Peeta reach the center of the Arena in which they are fighting for their lives, they not only run into their biggest rival – another boy named Cato who had been set up throughout as a villain – but also the murderous creations of the those who put them there. It is a gruesome fight that results in Cato’s horrifying death, and the survival of Peeta and Katniss, but only one of them can live. This ultimatum drives Katniss to take a calculated risk: if both of them die, the Capitol has no winner, and the games must always provide a glimmer of hope for effective control, thus if they threaten suicide, they can both get out alive. It works, and they are delivered from the belly of the
The Hunger Games are one of the most emotional, viscous and cruel books I’ve read before. But both heroes Katniss and Peeta have survived to live the next day. They are both winners and Katniss lives to feed her family once more. It was a fantastic book of amazing features, characters, themes and creativity.
The hunger games was held in Panem, a totalitarian state where the government takes over the state and seeks control of the all aspects of life. The Hunger Games takes place in the futuristic, dystopian nation of Panem, located in the present day U.S. The country consists of a wealthy Capitol, surrounded by twelve poorer districts exploited and ruled by the Capitol.
The Hunger Games, directed by Gary Ross, was released in 2012. The film is about a young girl who lives in one of the twelve districts of the Capitol of Panem. To keep these districts from resorting to war like past times, the capitol now forces one girl and one boy to fight to the death until only one remains. Jennifer Lawrence, staring as Katniss Everdeen, has been chosen to represent district 12. The film uses many different elements to display all the emotional and physical struggles Katniss must endure while participating in the games.
The Hunger Games are a systematic way of reminding the citizens of Panem that the Capitol is not to be defied. It is also widely seen as a form of entertainment by the wealthy in the Capitol; the people who are not required to enter the games. Every year, a male and female between the ages of 12 and 18 are ‘reaped’ and chosen to represent their district at the games. The rules of the games are simple, you must be the last survivor; it is a fight to the death. Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are the two tributes chosen to represent district 12 at the 74th annual Hunger Games. Katniss did not have her name drawn, rather she volunteered to take the place of the female who had originally been selected; her sister Prim. This act highlights one of the quality personality traits Katniss possesses; selflessness.
In a not-too-distant, some 74 years, into the future the United States of America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war, to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 13 districts. Each year, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games; these children are referred to as tributes (Collins, 2008). The Games are meant to be viewed as entertainment, but every citizen knows their purpose, as brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts. The televised games are broadcasted throughout Panem as the 24 participants are forced to eradicate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch. The main character throughout the series is a 16-year-old girl from District 12 named Katniss Everdeen.
The movie The Hunger Games, originally based on a book by Suzanne Collins, is about a place called Panem, which is ruled by the Capitol and has 12 districts within it. These 12 districts are separated founded on their economic statuses, meaning the higher the district, the more impoverished the residents are. There are 2 tributes that are chosen to participate, forcibly, in The Hunger Games each year. Each competitor is instructed to eliminate one another in order to survive and come out on top. There is only one tribute allowed to come out of the arena alive. Katniss lives in District 12, which is the most impoverished district of them all, and she volunteers as tribute in “the Reaping” when her sister is chosen to participate. She and the other tribute from her district, Peeta, make it into the arena with the hopes that one of them comes out the winner and above all else, alive (Ross, 2012). I will refrain from going any further just in case you have not read the book or have not seen the movie. In terms of soci...
...nt, Katniss decides not to play by the rules anymore and she splits a handful of poison berries with Peeta. She decides that she is not going to let the “Gods” manipulate the game anymore. Right before they eat the berries the leader’s voice comes overhead and tells them that they have both one. The reason he decides to do this is because the crowd would be incredibly disappointed if the “show” ended this way. This is Katniss’ true show of courage, to defy the leaders/Gods and make her own ending. It can be said that this was Katniss’ destiny or fate: that she was meant to win the Hunger Games.
The reaping is when a male and female tribute is chosen from each district. When the day of the reaping arrives, a surprise tribute is chosen. Which is Prim Katniss little sister (20). Prim’s name has only been entered once (21). Katniss cannot comprehend what has happened. Her chances were very slim. Katn...
...completely different lives. The over powerful Capitol is to blame for this cruel injustice. For the most part the people of Panem seem to have come to accept this fact and just do what they can to get by. Peeta and Katniss are different. They prove that people from district 12 aren’t worthless but have the ability to win the games. They show that their gender does not determine or constrain what they have the ability to do. Through out the book, Peeta and Katniss teach people a lesson by continuing to challenge the status quo of Panem.
