I stand here before you and just count my blessings on how lucky I must be to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard. I just want to thank Dr. Jackson for giving me my internship after college and seeing something in me I didn’t see in myself at the time being. Thank you quoting the famous Dr. Martin and continuously reminding me “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in the moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at the times of challenge and controversy”. So thank you. I want to say thank you to my sisters, La’Asia and La’Tisha for coming into my office on lunch breaks and filling up the silence the walls would bring. I will miss that. Thank you to my staff for acknowledging my birthday and making significance of the awards I received, that meant a lot. In a favor I just want to thank Dr. Jackson …show more content…
Dr. Jackson made sure I would be able to pursue my dream and shortly after I received an offer in Los Angeles and flew out immediately. I dreaded working there but California was definitely where I wanted to stay. I called Dr. Jackson due to the fact he was where I wanted to be occupation wise. It took a year and three months but better late than never I handed in my resignation letter and opened my own business, Ward’s Dermatology in Santa Monica. Three years later I received an invitation to join one of the largest organizations in the world that represents dermatologist “The American Academy of Dermatology”. From there on I received sponsorship to travel around the world and explore the relation between climate and skin problems. Traveling contributed big time to my retirement because it has shown me there is more to life than what we limit ourselves

Because of you, I looked a hundred times better on that stage than I could have hoped for. Thank you for sitting through every meeting. But the things I really want to thank the two of you for are not tangible or measurable; they are abstract and infinite.
