Hello fellow students and staff members; I’m here today to speak about the journey it took for us graduates, the class of 2016, to make it to this incredible day; but as far as discussing our succession, I would first like to thank the staff and Principal Fitterling for giving me this wonderful opportunity to speak. I’m very grateful to be selected. I would like to also thank all of the family members who are here today for coming to take the time out of their day, to see their children's lives change in a matter of minutes. The Speech St. Charles West is known for showing the most school spirit, especially the class of 2016. As far as I can say, we are proud to be warriors. We stand together as one and help each other through rough times. Yes, we scream and shout, but over the short 4 years we’ve learned that showing school …show more content…
Wondering how we would get involved or who our friends would be, but being welcomed by the upperclassmen, allowed us to break out of our middle school shell quite early and become more involved in SCWest’s activities. This not only made us feel welcomed, it allowed us not to be scared and to show our inner confidence. We all knew we had to get use to the school at some point, why not make it freshman year. It was the year all about learning, becoming more involved, and teaching one another the basics. Just like the upperclassmen did. We knew one day we would be the top dogs, running the school and showing the underclassman around. So wanting to taking the advice from our peers we knew we had to make a good first impression. We immediately tried out for the football team or cheerleading squad. No one cared about making a fool of themselves because like many schools, we had a freshman team for all sports. And if sports wasn’t your thing everyone knew the step team was always a consideration. They always could get the crowd hyped for the pep rallys or the pep
The birth of cheerleading was commenced with an all boys “pep club” that led cheers at a Princeton University football game in the 1880s. One specific student, Thomas Peebles, passed on the idea of a pep club to the University of Minnesota where he had transferred. The idea surprisingly spread like wildfire and everyone was on board with a pep club at their university to help encourage their athletes to victory (“History”). As cheerleading has become more popular and as more females have gotten involved, in the 21st century, majority of cheer squads require a tryout process were you can show off your talent and skills to be chosen. Before, cheerleaders were selected by their level of popularity but today they are required to have complex skills, the muscle of a linebacker, the grace and flexibility of a ballerina, and the balance of a gymnast (AACCA).
Over the past four years, we have grown from insecure, immature freshmen to successful, focused and confident young adults. This incredible transformation has been the result of our entire high school experience. Everything from that first homecoming game, to late night cramming, to the last dance at prom. These experiences have pulled us together as a class and we have learned to love and respect our fellow classmates.
Two weeks before school even started, the Hotchkiss High School Marching Band began its march to the state-qualifying competition in Delta. We worked four hours a day for five days, getting our fundamentals going and getting a feel for our new show. Once school did start, we started practice at 7:00 a.m. and went for two hours every day, working on music and marching. Our band was once again small (eighteen people!), but our sound was great. It was actually easier trying to teach a smaller group because of the difficulty of the moves we were attempting. Of course, I didn't help matters much by my trials of congeniality with the podium. I figured if I didn't fly off with flapping of my arms, then surely I would walk right off the stand.
What is reputation? Reputation is the joint of beliefs and opinions that are created because of certain actions or situations about someone or something. It is something that has greatly impacted society, it determines how you are viewed to those around you, reputation comes with connections, promotions, rewards and more. Reputation has been a huge impact on society for a long period of time, it has been from Shakespeare’s time in the play “Othello”; a play about a black man going through deceived betrayal, to all the way in modern time in the “O” film; a young black teen facing through the same deceiving betrayal in modern time. While comparing both the play and film, there are many similarities but one comparison that stood out was how much
Class of 2012, as we sit here this evening, I would like you to take a look at the classmates sitting around you. Many students have given countless hours of time, energy, and passion to worthy cuases that they have been a part of throughout high school. However, those aren't the only students deserving of recognition this evening. We have students here tonight, who have taken a stand for what they believe in, not even hesitating to compromise their reputations.
Thank you very much. Thank you. You have all been very kind to Donald and me, to our young son Barron, and to our whole family. It's a very nice welcome and we're excited to be with you at this historic convention. I am so proud of your choice for president of the United States, my husband, Donald J. Trump.
The past four years have been fun and easy for some and a struggle for others. When I reflect on my high school experience, I think of watching football games, playing softball, homecoming weeks, school trips, parties and time with my friends. Others have spent their time in drama, band, community service, part-time jobs and all sorts of other activities. We have all watched Mr. LHS grow along with us until it became a big part of the high school year. I enjoyed laughing with and at the guys as they showed off their talents. This year’s homecoming football game was one of the most exciting ones we have had, with four quarters and three overtimes when we beat Jackson 48 to 42 for a homecoming victory. No matter what types of experiences we have had, I think they are important to remember and grow from.
I would like to thank my parents, For all those years of love and care, For the smiles, hugs, and kisses, And the moments of happiness we share. Making sure there are never any tears in my eyes, Fixing up my life like little tailors, Celebrating my accomplishments, And picking me up after my failures.
Good evening respected guests, members of the community, administration and teachers, family, friends, and of course my fellow graduates. I am extremely honored to be speaking to you tonight on behalf of the class of 2018. I would like to start off by, of course, thanking my parents, David and Stephanie Lopez, for everything they have done for me. Being a parent isn’t a easy job, but they seem to pull it off effortlessly. I would also like to thank Shelby, David, and Mikey for being my best friends in the whole world.
Hi. My name is Hayden and I have the honor today of being my Dad's best man. Looking around i can see some of you are pretty so i'll keep this a pg speech rather than an R18.
During our engagement, I found myself terrified and overwhelmed. I was questioning if this, our commitment to one another, and more importantly, my commitment to you, was going to be the biggest mistake of my life. As you and anyone who knows me well can attest, I'm ferociously indecisive, for fear of making the wrong decision. So I questioned how I could possibly carry out a pledge as pervasive as marriage? I would be signing legal documentation declaring that I am to love one person exclusively for the rest of my life.
Good afternoon everyone, I would like to take take a few minutes of your time to speak about the lovely couple that we are here to celebrate today. In the society we live in today, it is an honor to be able to do anything for 25 years. Therefore, to have to ability to preserve a marriage this long is a significant accomplishment. Congratulations, Mom and Dad.
Good afternoon pretty lady, Yes, I decided to type a letter out to you because you know how horrible my hand writing is. And I also thought it would be kind of different. Hopefully it doesn’t take the appeal away from it but I promise you everything I am saying is from the heart.
Let me begin by saying that I am very honored to be addressing the County High School Class of 2012 as students of this institution for the last time. We've spent these last four years creating some serious memories: four years of chieftain power, leaking roofs, questionable Homecoming skits, and musical principals. Four years of good teachers, bad teachers, new teachers, old teachers. Four years of youth, music, growing up and breaking free. Four rubber chickens, four yearbooks, four ASB presidents and four chubby bunnies.
As freshman, we came home from school with the mentality that we were no longer children, but rather had entered into a new stage of life. Everything seemed different and new; we weren’t the big kids on campus anymore. We no longer were the persons being looked up to, but rather were the persons looking up to an entire school of older students. We remember joining our firsts clubs, going to dances, and having Orientation days.
