The Humanitarian Award is an award that goes to those who put others before their own needs and are willing to help others. My mom deserves the Humanitarian Award because she is cheerful, caring, and always listens to others. When it comes to being cheerful, I think of my mom. Her laugh could light up the room even if it's supposed to be a serious moment. She always tries to find the good in things and rarely looks for the negative. She loves to break out into songs and would sing her heart out whenever she wanted to, if she didn’t get the Humanitarian Award then she would definitely win the award for most Disney songs memorized. My mom is caring because she rarely gets upset if you do something you know you shouldn’t have done. She always
encourages you to do your best and teaches people to never stress to much about the little things. She helps you if you ask for it and is patient and teaches you how to do it instead of doing it for you. Not only is she caring, but she is kindhearted and compassionate too! My mom always listens to others even if she doesn’t want to. She doesn't jump to conclusions and doesn’t judge people for their mistakes. She always listens to both sides of the story before she forms her own opinion. Instead of bringing people down, she brings them up. And this is one of the best qualities that somebody could look for in a mom and a friend. The Humanitarian Award deserves to go to somebody that is fit for the award, and I think she would be the perfect fit. Without her my brothers and I wouldn’t be the people we are today. I hope in the future my brothers and I become as cheerful, caring, and are as good at listening to others just like she is.
Four journalists named Helen Jones, Larry Andrews, Marcia Glaser, and Fred Myers thought it would be a good idea to create a nonprofit organization to help animals that have are treated cruelly by either abuse or when they are left alone. The Humane Society has been helping animals since November 24, 1954(2). Their mission since the beginning has been celebrating animals and confronting cruelty. There are a great number of things that the Humane Society has been doing for the animals, like saving them from people who want to harm them. The list of animals that the Humane Society helps is very long, because they don’t just help the household pets that you might have thought. The conditions of the Humane Society change due to the types of animals
Simon wiesenthal was born on December 31, 1908, in a small town in buczacz. He had one sibling named hillel wiesenthal. As a child he had a very difficult time growing up, his father died in world war II and when Simon was just ten “a Cossack gashed his leg open with a saber” (Wiesenthal Simon). He was also limited on where he could go to college because of these Jewish enrolment issues he went to school for architectural engineering at the technical university in Prague (Wiesenthal Simon). After Simon graduated in 1932 he opended up his business in the city of lvov. He then decided to marry Cyla Muller who’d been his girlfriend from high school (Biography). Shortly after opening his shop the red army overran the city, “Wiesenthal’s stepfather was arrested and his stepbrother was shot” (Wiesenthal Simon). This caused Wiesenthal to close his business, and work in a factory.
There is no doubt that the particular layout of space of the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition reflected the gender inequalities that existed within American society at the time. In particular, the Women’s Building offered a microcosm of the prejudices that dominated the overall landscape of the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition. Although the men who organized the Columbian Exposition were unable to exclude women’s achievements altogether from the exposition, they were successful in relegating them into a bounded unit that overwhelmingly categorized their contributions as different and marginal, framing womanliness as “soft,” “delicate,” and “refined.” Discussions of the Women’s Building’s architectural aesthetics highlights such gendered dimensions of the Columbian Exposition quite clearly.
Do you think its fair that players are credited for what they do, when cheating the game? Mark McGwire excelled at the game of baseball and got credit for all of his accomplishments, yet he cheated the game and used steroids. Babe Ruth, considered one of the greatest baseball players to play the game of baseball, who never cheated and set a great example for all who play baseball. Baseball has drastically changed over the years, especially in the cheating scandals of steroids; Babe Ruth set a great example by excelling in the sport and doing it clean, contrasting with Mark McGwire. Their existence shows how society accepted honesty and doing it the clean way in Babe’s era and how society accepts the scandals and dishonesty of Mark’s era.
In the year 3000, the planet Earth is a desolate wasteland. It has been a little over a half a century since the “big one” hit the Earth. The majority of the human race has been eliminated with only a few hundred remaining. The only ones who have survived barely made it on to the spaceship as the big one smashed the Earth. Marcus is one of the many survivors coping with solar winds and debris floating around the Moon. After half a century, the survivors are running out of supplies on the moon. The crew must go back to post-apocalyptic Earth and explore the wasteland. Marcus knows that this journey will not be an easy one. They encounter different
Throughout my first year in middle school I have really started taking great thought into my future. I have realized that I am getting closer to my adult life and that I need to start to plan for the type of future that I wish to have. As much as I enjoy team activities, I do think of myself as more of a leader and would like to go about planning my career in this way. I am determined to go about things at an advanced pace which is why I believe I should be part of the National Junior Honor Society.
I believe that I, Christine Kuykendall, am a good candidate for a spot in National Junior Honors Society. I hold all of the core values, I am an all A student, and I love helping in the community. I am also a very hard worker and I believe that I can do great things in National Junior Honors Society.
The first reason why I say mothers care about their children is because when they risk their lives for you .They may have themeselves invovled in something bad and don’t want you to grow up like them so they try to teach you as best as they can the right way.Just like when all moms tell their children to behave because you never know who watching you. Here’s an example when your mother had you at a young age but what
Being nominated to be an active member in the National Honor Society is an accomplishment in itself. It shows that I am striving, and continuing to show my strengths on a daily basis. I have achieved the goal to maintain my grades while also being very active within our community. I have also strove to be the best possible person I can be, and that truly shows through my love of the game: basketball. I have been a member of the basketball team for three years. This team has taught me a lot about unity. I try to bring what I learn on the court to my everyday lifestyle. It has taught me how to work well with others, and solve conflicts when necessary. Being on the team has also shown me that you can’t go through life alone. I always try to be
This year 10th grade year I was supposed to focus on bettering myself in school. The three ways I was gonna better myself were, not being disrespectful to teachers, turning in homework on time and actually coming to school. I can say the only one I really improved on was being more respectful to teachers. In these next three paragraphs I’m gonna explain how I improved on 1 goal, didn't go anywhere on another, and actually got worse on the last goal.
As a female, I know that over 95% of us have asked the question “Are there any “good guys” out there? It seems like all guys are jerks or losers.” And then there is the 5% who have never asked the question, and I’m included in it. Someone as dedicated to school as I am, understand why. But later on around this time is when I met my best friend and current boyfriend, Ozzy. He is a year younger than me but the way he carries himself, one would easily assume that he is older. He is a straight A student who is probably the most caring, sensitive and strongest person I have ever met. He is nothing like guys you see today. This is probably why I consider him a “full package”.
Even before my first tear hits the ground, my mother is there to wipe it away. My mother feels my pain before I can even realize it. She understands my needs before I can even think of them. That’s why we call her a mother. My mother has been an extraordinary influence on my life and always will be. She’s the kind of mom who would always take time out and care for her four children and the mom who would never let her hardships in her life distress her kids. My mother has always been a very strong role model to me, and growing up with someone like her to look up to has changed my life in many ways. She has helped me grow physically, intellectually, and considerately. She taught me to always love, care, and give back to the people I am grateful for.
My mother is a loving and caring woman because she helped every person in need that she came across, even if it was an inconvenience to her. Such inconveniences would consist of giving anything to others when she had very little to give, giving someone a ride that she didn’t know, helping others when she did not have time, and much more. As an example, once I accompanied her to church and I witnessed her give one thousand dollars to the church as an offering when she didn’t have much money. We had to skip our morning coffee for a while to make up for the money that was spent that
My mother was not only worry and take care of me, she always by my side when I need her help. I felt sad, my mother always by my side to talk and to console. While I am glad, my mother is always been there to share and listen to me. When I failed to do something, my mother who was gave me advices. She has always supported me in all my choices. She tried to make me strong people with independent minds. I looks to her in hopes that someday I will be as happy, as strong and as well as
Whenever I am faced with a problem and have to make a decision, I know that my mother will be behind me one-hundred percent no matter what avenue I choose to travel down is. It is a great feeling to know that someone is always going to support me in anything I choose to do. It alleviates much of the stress that comes along with making decisions. For example, when I could not make a decision and choose which college I was going to, a community college or a university, my mother reassured me that she would be happy with the choice I made, as long as it made me happy. Having my mother tell me that alleviated much of the pressure I felt to pick a college. I did not want to disappoint her, and knowing that I would not, made the decision a lot easier. ...
