Human Trafficking

Human Trafficking is known for forced labor or sexual exploitation. They include women, children, migrants and minorities, male or female, but mainly females and treat them less than humans. They go through neglect, abused, and complicity, leaving them vulnerable and no freedom. Traffickers find these vulnerable people and use them as sex slaves, they take girls young as five to be forced into having sex, and parents also force their child into prostitution and sell them into a brothel. The United Nations estimates nearly 2.5 million people from 127 different countries are being trafficked around the world, 80 percent of victims are women and girls and 50 percent are minors. Human trafficking is the third most criminal activity in the world.

Human trafficking has a long history to it and gained a lot of attention towards policymakers. Trafficking been going on for years and has been passed down from generation to generation. In 1910 human trafficking included International Convention for the Suppression of the White Slave Traffic, in 1921 International Convention for the Suppression of the Traffic in Women and Children, and the International Convention Traffic Women of Full Age in 1933. Human trafficking is caused by criminals and they are called traffickers; they commit criminal act towards victims and vulnerable people. M. Shimray states, “There is a strong link between poverty, consumerism, levels and inadequate employment opportunities. ... under bad conditions. In the book “The Lost Road of Innocence” a women named Somaly Mam experiences and talks about her journey while growing up. She was a victim of human trafficking, she was forced into the sex market and she was only a child. She learned and survived living that life style, but now she’s helping other females get out of the sex market in her county. No child or women she have to suffer in that kind of way. The government all around the world should work together on stopping human trafficking and put away the criminals.

In conclusion human trafficking is a vile and wicked crime, it is embarrassing to mankind and a gross abuse of human rights. People she work together on stopping human trafficking and protecting women children from this danger. Help those who are vulnerable and weak get better so they won’t have to experience human trafficking.
