Although this R3 was a bit gross, I found it interesting and it made it easier for me to understand different parts of the eye. I think the main purpose of this R3 was to use hands on experience to make it easier for us to label parts of the eye on a diagram. One of the first observations I made when I saw the eye was how much bigger a cow’s eye is than a human’s. After I saw how big the cornea looked, I was surprised with how much meat surrounded the eye that I would have to cut off. Then I had to decide where and how I was going to cut off the excess. The easiest part of this dissection was finding the lens. The lens is a very distinct feeling and looking part of the eye, so I knew I found the lens. The most difficult for me was finding

In the editorial cartoon, Our Eyes Secure Your Safety, is dealing with giving up rights and freedoms. The cartoonist has presented the perspective that rejecting collectivism can be ineffective, which is shown by people walking around surrounded by video surveillance. The author uses irony of large eyes in the sky with big bold letters that states the quote our eyes secure individuals' safety to show the ideas presented on portraying negative notion on the subject of which is surrendering our rights and freedoms for more collective security; he/she also stresses the idea of individualism. The individualist view of a society without high government involvement was furthermore illustrated in the source by the idea of all the eyes, gloominess
An inspection of the modern animal phyla will reveal that eyes are just as diverse as they are complex. Some organisms like the rag worm have pigmented cup eyes while other like he box jellyfish have two lens eyes and two pairs of pigment pit eyes. To account for the diversity in eye structure, we must first examine the eye ‘prototype’, the original structure that was acted upon by evolution. The simplest organ that can be considered an eye is composed of a single photoreceptor cell and a single pigment cell, without any lens or other refractive body (Arendt, 2003). Such organs are know as eyespots, and...
During the dissection it was quite difficult to try to cut the planaria right in-between the eyes.
This is a representation of the eye's lens system. This eye has no eye condition, such as nearsightedness or farsightedness, and the lens is drawn in its relaxed position. The light rays are focused appropriately on the retina. The thickness of the cornea is 0.449 mm, the distance from the cornea to the lens is 2.
The aim of the investigation was to see if being able to see the eyes
The sheep brain and cow eye are used to study human anatomy because they’re structurally comparable to that of a human eye and brain. They are also more readily available to use in classes such as these. • What is the significance of the investigative question? As I stated in my answer to the investigative question, anatomy (structure) and physiology (function) are correlated because form follows function.
The purpose of this lab is to learn about the anatomy of a rat. Learn things such as the circulatory system, the nervous system, and the digestive system. You’ll also need to learn the tools in the dissection. The tools/materials are as followed a dissection pan, latex gloves, Scissors, Forceps, Scalpel, t pins and Probe.

When we think of the human eye its usually something of beauty. There are numerous poems about how the eyes of someone can be the windows to the soul, the eyes are a big aspect about people weather we know it or not. But imagine something of beauty being turned into something no one wants to look at, that people would shy away from. This picture of a glossy and extremely irritated red eye is something that not many would like to see. The picture is an extreme up close picture to where you easily make out the details of the iris. The swelling of the tear duct and the dilated blood vessels surrounding the sclera. The picture is also in the rule of thirds the first line starting just before and after the iris and another way to see it right in top of the fold of the top eyelid o the bottom of the eyelid. are just some of the many effects drugs have on the
Retinal detachment is a separation of the retina from the choroid usual. The retina is a thin layer of tissue that lines the back of the orbital socket near the optic nerve. The normal functions of the retina are to process light through a layer of photoreceptor cells. These cells are light-sensitive and detect color and light intensity. The information gathered from these cells send information to the brain through the optic nerve to create a visual image (Davis 1797).
Have you ever wondered why the sky is blue. Often times I find myself looking up on a clear day, pondering over that question? Why isn’t it green, or red or pink for even that matter. Every day, the human eye blinks more than 23,00 times. The human eye is a complicated organ that performs one of the most important tasks for our body. There are many questions about the eye however. What function do they perform? What happens if we don’t take care of them? How exactly do they work together to help us form images? Exactly how far can they human eye see?
This protects the eye from becoming dry.The Cornea, a part of the sclera, is the transparent window of the eye through which light passes. The focusing of the light begins in the cornea.Behind the Cornea is a watery fluid called the aqueous humor. This fluid fills a curved, crescent shaped space, thick in the center and thinner toward the edges. The cornea and the aqueous humor together make an outer lens that refracts, or bends, light and dire...
