Human Euthanasia
"The term is derived from the Greek word euthanatos which means easy death"( Euthanasia and physician assisted suicide). Human Euthanasia can do just that, grant an easy death for someone who is suffering either mentally or physically. It is an alternative for someone who is in pain and discomfort. Human Euthanasia should be legalized since people should be able to dictate what happens to them, they should be able to die with their dignity, and it is a very good alternative for people who live unbearable existences.
"Euthanasia is the termination of a very sick person's life in order to relieve them of suffering"(Euthanasia and physician assisted suicide). If someone's pain, physical or mental, is extreme and lasts days

or their entire life then they should have the choice of ending thier life of not. According to BBC, Human euthanasia is "carried out at the person's request." However, Some may argue that this is still murder. Yet their life is being taken by not only their consent, but their parents and a licensed physician as well. Yes there still may be a moral difference but morals can not cure cancer, take away pain, allow someone to gain the power and strength to use the bathroom on their own. Furthermore any person deserves to die with self respect and dignity. "A man who is physically unable to commit suicide yesterday took his 'right-to-die' case to the High Court.
A stroke in 2005 left Tony Nicklinson with 'locked-in syndrome' – mentally sound but paralyzed from the neck down and unable to speak. At the High Court in London, he described his existence as 'dull, miserable, demeaning, undignified and intolerable' as he began his landmark case that challenges the law on murder". Nicklinson is great example of someone who should have the right to end his life. He and many others can not move, nor can they do much of anything on their own. Would you like to someone to bath you, help you use the restroom, and have no control of your bodily functions? Most people would not want that, people fear to lose control of their own bodies and would rather die with their dignity. Even though he is paralyzed and can only move his head and blink, people claim to, what if statements. What if he gets cured, what if he wakes up tomorrow and can walk, what if he becomes happy later? Some may say that a miracle may happen but there are no available cures, nothing to help him move. Can a miracle happen? Yes it can. Is it likely? No, there is such a low chance of Nicklinson being cured that he is more likely win the lottery two times in a row. Since Nicklinson can not literally be bored to death, euthanasia is the next best option. Furthermore there are very few alternatives for the terminally …show more content…
ill. "I do have a certainty that I face an ultimate dilemma.
I am not capable of planning or implementing my own death, but I believe I am capable of knowing that I want to die. The very fact that I need assistance in order to terminate my life is the same requirement that disqualifies me from receiving that help"( Hershey). A happy ending for someone who has Alzheimer's is just as existent as the cure for it. There are few alternatives for someone whose brain is breaking down with their memory. People such as Nathan Hershey, want the right to end their lives before they down and become a shell of what they used to amount to. On the other hand many argue that people who want this to be legalized are greedy family members who just want the money of their deteriorating relative. In some cases this could be a possibility, but that is why it is so hard for someone like Hershey to get euthanasia. There are many tests, both cognitive and physical, that take place before a verdict can be
reached. In conclusion, euthanasia should be legal since people should decide their own fates, die with self respect and dignity, and there are no alternatives for most people. There are some exceptions and morals that come in place with this topic but in the end in centers around the choice of the victim and what they want to do with their life.
Euthanasia comes from the Greek root-eu, meaning good, and thanatos meaning death. Together they signify "good death." For example, you have a terminal illness and doctors informed you that your life span would not exceed four weeks starting from today, and during this waiting period, you will suffer excruciating pain and unbearable agony. What would you do? You decide to take action. What should it be? An injection, a pill, or jumping off a building? Applying the concept of euthanasia, it means you will either choose an injection or a pill.
Euthanasia comes from the Greek word that means “good death” (“Euthanasia” Literary). In general, euthanasia refers to causing the death of someone to end their pain and suffering oftentimes in cases of terminal illness. Some people call this “mercy killings.”

When patients suffering from serious health conditions are towards the end of their lives, they are given an option that can change their lives and the lives of those around them. This option is praised as an act of preserving dignity, but also condemned as an act of weakness. The terminally ill, as well as the disabled and the elderly, are given the choice to end their lives by the method of suicide involving the assistance of a physician. For several years, this method has been under debate on whether this option is ethical or unethical. Not only is this defective option unethical, but it puts ill and elderly patients under pressures that can lead to them choosing this alternative rather than the fighting for their lives.

Euthanasia – the ending of a terminally ill patient’s life by a third party, normally a physician, to end the pain and suffering of the patient.
Euthanasia and assisted suicide is known as a process in which an individual (sick or disabled) engages in an act that leads to his or her own death with the help of physicians or family members to end pain and suffering. There are several other terms used for this process, such as active euthanasia or passive euthanasia. Active euthanasia refers to what is being done to actively end life while passive euthanasia is referred as eliminating a treatment that will prolong a patient’s life, which will eventually lead to death (Levy et al., 2103, p. 402). Euthanasia and assisted suicide pose a significant ethical issue today, and understanding the issue requires examining the different principles, such as the ethical issue, professional code of conduct, strength and limitations, autonomy and informed consent, beneficence and nonmaleficence, distribution, and confidentiality and truthfulness.
One of the many concerns is allowing incompetent individuals making this irreversible decision, which is why, “all have agreed that this end-of-life option should apply on to competent individual’s”(113). In addition, people opposed to this method argue that patients demanding this process are suffering from depression and not able to make decisions; yet, Rosenfled explains that practitioners most ensure that patients who consent to this medical intervention do it voluntarily, knowingly and
Whose life is it, anyway? Euthanasia is a word that means good death. Euthanasia normally implies that the act must be initiated by the person who wishes to commit suicide. But, some people define euthanasia to include both voluntary and involuntary termination of life. Physician assisted suicide is when a physician supplies information and/or the means of committing suicide (lethal dose of sleeping pills or carbon monoxide gas) to a person, so that they can easily terminate their own life.
Euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide has been a hot topic of debate for quite some time now. Some believe it to be immoral, while others see nothing wrong with it what so ever. Regardless what anyone believes, euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide should become legal for physicians and patients. Death is a personal situation in life. By government not allowing euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide they are interfering and violating patient’s personal freedom and human rights! Euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide have the power to save the lives of family members and other ill patients. Euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide should become legal however, there should be strict rules and guidelines to follow and carry out by both the patient and physician. If suicide isn’t a crime why should euthanasia and assisted suicide? Euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide should be legal and the government should not be permitted to interfere with death.
Euthanasia is described by the Oxford English Dictionary as ‘The bringing about of a gentle and easy death, especially in the case of incurable and painful diseases’ .
Euthanasia, according to the dictionary, means the killing of a person who is suffering from an incurable disease. Lately, it had been a huge debate over whether euthanasia should be legalized or not. Personally, I believe that euthanasia should be legalized if it is voluntary. I have three reasons for my argument.
Euthanasia is a medical procedure which speeds up the process of dying for people with incurable, painful, or distressing diseases. The patient’s doctor can stop treatment and instead let them die from their illness. It come from the Greek words for 'good' and 'death', and is also called mercy killing. Euthanasia is illegal in most countries including the UK . If you suffer from an incurable disease, you cannot legally terminate your life. However, in a number of European countries it is possible to go to a clinic which will assist you to die gracefully under some very strict circumstances.
Even though people are not in control of how they are born, they are in control as to how they will pass away. In other words, each individual has the right to control his or her body in whatever way he or she wants. Behind this ideology lies the idea that humans should also have the right to determine in what way and by whose hand he or she will die and gives rise the controversial issue of legalizing euthanasia. Even though some people argue that euthanasia gives too much power to doctors and state that alternatives exist, individuals who are in suffering should be given the choice to end their pain. With proper regulation, euthanasia should be legalized because adults have the right to terminate their lives.
Euthanasia is ending the life of a person deliberately to relieve their pain. It usually happens when a person is terminally ill or is suffering from a lot of pain and there is no other option to relieve the pain.
