Pursuit of Happyness
What is happiness….?
Happiness is something everyone wants to have. You may be successful and have a lot of money, but without happiness, it will all be meaningless.
Pursuit of happyness is a movie by will smith based on the book by the same name written by Chris Gardner. It is a true story which shows us how a hard-pressed African American single father along with his 5-year-old son struggles to survive and fulfill the great American dream. How the protagonist Will smith embarks on his journey with a rather limited view of happiness by equating it with flashy cars, high paying jobs and luxurious homes and by the end of the movie he walks down the road with the knowledge that happiness is actually a state of mind and that one does not have to super rich to be happy . The movie is able to avoid much on institutional racism and

Who nurtures his son with tenderness and love that is impressive. And the audience cannot help but cheer as he overcomes one obstacle after another without letting his son feel the brunt of any adverse situation. Jaden smith, will smith’s son is adorable. He delivers an endearing performance as Gardner’s son Christopher and the father-son chemistry is perfect in the movie. It is a inspirational and often emotionally wrenching story. It includes some very sad scenes between family members as well as couple of emotionally scary ones. Yet the never say die attitude of the protagonist and his ability to mask all the sadness in his life to prevent them from emotionally scarring his son for life is praise worthy. The part that impressed me most was that once they were evicted from their home and forced to spend the night on the road. Father and son wind up sleeping in the bathroom of a bus station, but Will smith managed to turn this nightmarish experience into a game by pretending they are hiding out in a cave from
This film represents our indigenous culture and regardless of what happens we can find good in a situation. Together the black and white community can come together and achieve more than they could ever do by themselves.
The film starts with an uprising after a white storeowner kills a black teenager. This incident Highlights Prejudices. The teenager was labeled a thief because of the color of his skin and the unjustifiable murder causes racial tensions that exist as a result of the integration of the high schools.
I think it did a great job of showing how a family can come to view addictive and abnormal behavior as normal. I would recommend this movie to friends. I feel that it gives great insight into the dynamics of how the disease of alcoholism can trickle down the family tree affecting everyone it touches in such profound ways. Other than the lack of physical abuse I could see myself playing most of the roles the kids did as far as lost child and hero, I remember trying to fulfill most of those roles when I was younger trying anything from trying harder in school to trying to do chores to perfection in the hopes that I could through my works keep my parents from drinking. Thankfully as I got older I came to understand that their drinking was their illness not mine and until they decided they had enough I could do nothing to help them, but love and pray for
For me I found that to this day, the Native Americans still lead a rough life due to what the white man has done to them in the past. However, instead of buckling under the pressure of centuries, much of their culture still struggles and lives on inside each successive generation. I would recommend this movie to anyone, and I'm sure that I will end up sending it to my family back home. Not only would I recommend watching the movie, but I would urge all to see beneath the surface story and find the hidden messages underneath.
In conclusion, if a person is looking for a great movie with suspense and an exciting ending about racism, than this movie would be highly recommended. This movie has several different emotions including, sad, happy, and straightforward. This movie gives the person watching it a great look at how racism was in the 1960’s and how it should've been. No matter what shape, color, or size a person may be, everybody deserves to be treated the same. I really did enjoy watching this movie and I would recommend it to
The director main point of the movie is to show that racism shouldn’t exist. His other main point that I got out of it was him showing how whites and blacks became one, they all became a family at the end of the movie. Although the whites feared they would lose their starting position to the blacks and the blacks feared they wouldn’t get any playing time because of their skin color they were still able to get through it all and were all able to put their pride aside and become one and by them coming together and looking past all the criticism they got something great out of it, a state
This movie is a wonderful production starting from 1960 and ending in 1969 covering all the different things that occurred during this unbelievable decade. The movie takes place in many different areas starring two main families; a very suburban, white family who were excepting of blacks, and a very positive black family trying to push black rights in Mississippi. The movie portrayed many historical events while also including the families and how the two were intertwined. These families were very different, yet so much alike, they both portrayed what to me the whole ‘message’ of the movie was. Although everyone was so different they all faced such drastic decisions and issues that affected everyone in so many different ways. It wasn’t like one person’s pain was easier to handle than another is that’s like saying Vietnam was harder on those men than on the men that stood for black rights or vice versa, everyone faced these equally hard issues. So it seemed everyone was very emotionally involved. In fact our whole country was very involved in president elections and campaigns against the war, it seemed everyone really cared.
But what does happiness really mean? People might say smiling, or being with your loved ones but according to google happiness feeling or showing pleasure or contentment. What makes you happy? Dose your friends make you happy? Or your pet? Or even a video game? These things make many people happy but how is happiness triggered? Well google says that there are four primary chemicals in the brain that affect happiness: Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin, and Endorphins. I'd did some research and found out that each one you trigger your happiness will go up, which increases productivity in your brain. So the happier you are the harder you think. We know what happiness means, but what does the pursuit of happiness mean? I did some research and found out that the meaning of the pursuit of happiness means, google says the pursuit The pursuit of happiness is defined as a fundamental right mentioned in the Declaration of Independence to freely pursue joy and live life in a way that makes you happy, as long as you don't do anything illegal or violate the rights of others. I agree with this definition because I do this every day, I go to school and see my friends, that makes me happy. I also play video games and hang out with my family. These things make me happy and I'm not violating any laws while doing this. You also can’t buy happiness. Happiness comes from within and it can’t be valued at a certain price. Charles
Throughout the entire film, there are lessons that are being taught. Whether is the central theme of not judging someone by their skin color but by their character or showing the essence of what the meaning of family really is. Through the setting, acting, and relationships shown it all comes together to make the perfect film. I recommend this film be seen by everyone at least once in their lifespan, because the lessons that are depicted in there are valuable. It is the perfect movie to go see with your family and makes you grateful and thankful for everyone that you have in your life. The film brings joy, happiness, tears, laughter and much more. I can truly say that the movie is worth purchasing and viewing.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Well, what about happiness? Some would say that happiness is simply apart of life, while others feel it is something that one should chase. Nevertheless, in 1981 Chris Gardner a salesman from San Francisco, California in the award winning movie The Pursuit of Happiness had big dreams for his family but things did not turn out the way he intended. However, Christopher Gardner continued to strive and take a chance to chase his happiness even if it took loosing his wife and his home.
To conclude, I think this movie is a good example to show how a homeless person lived and how he survived his life from being a homeless. Throughout all his life he showed what can determination do even though there are obstacles in the way. Doing is best paid off his hardships. So from dreaming big, be determined on what you're trying to do, and be responsible on things will make you succeed in the future.
The movie is a very moving, sensitive and emotional story of redemption. The tale of how a young heartless thug can change into a softhearted guardian. This demonstrates that despite the poor living conditions, awful events and how heartless someone may seem. You can adapt to your surroundings and situations, you can also transform your life. Everyone has good in them you just choose whether to value it and utilize it or not appreciate it and discard it.
Have you ever watch a movie and not matter how many times you watch it you never get tire of watching it? One of my favorite movie of all-time is the call “The Pursuit of Happyness” It is an American film directed by Gabriele Muccino, the first starring Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith. I have too many reasons for why I like this particular movie, and every time I watch it I learn something different, is like you’re learning a different thing every time you watch that movie. “The Pursuit of Happyness” is one of the films that in every scene make you think and reflect. This film is about a Man that lost his form of income because he invested

Happiness, what is it, and why do we strive to achieve it so persistently? Happiness in some points of view is portrayed as the state that is derived from self-awareness of a benefiting action or moment taking place. What of the moments that are not beneficial? Can a person still find moments of happiness and success in discord, a little glimmer of light shining from the deep recesses of our own consciousness? Plucking it from a mere moment, achieved from money, or is it so much more, happiness is the precipice that all strive to gain to better perceive their success. As a person lives, they are in a constant struggle to be happy. For instance, even the United States Constitution makes reference to the idea that every person has the inalienable right to pursue happiness. This was the resulting outcome of the enlightenment from France, spilling out into the rest of the world from 1650 through 1800. This revolutionized the idea that every single person has the inalienable right to happiness or in different views the right to succeed. As to how one peruses or conjures their happiness that is an entirely different concept and completely up to their preferred preference, but it is something that a person needs to find on their own for true success.
